A time-resolved fluoro-immunoassay (TR-FIA) format is presented based on resonance energy transfer from visible emitting lanthanide complexes of europium and terbium, as energy donors, to semiconductor CdSe/ZnS core/shell nanocrystals (quantum dots, QD), as energy acceptors. The spatial proximity of the donor-acceptor pairs is obtained through the biological recognition process of biotin, coated at the surface of the dots (Biot-QD), and streptavidin labeled with the lanthanide markers (Ln-strep). The energy transfer phenomenon is evident from simultaneous lanthanide emission quenching and QD emission sensitization with a 1000-fold increase of the QD luminescence decay time reaching the hundred mus regime. Delayed emission detection allows for quantification of the recognition process and demonstrated a nearly quantitative association of the biotins to streptavidin with sensitivity limits reaching 1.2 pM of QD. Spectral characterization permits calculation of the energy transfer parameters. Extremely large F?rster radii (R(0)) values were obtained for Tb (104 A) and Eu (96 A) as a result of the relevant spectral overlap of donor emission and acceptor absorption. Special attention was paid to interactions with the varying constituents of the buffer for sensitivity and transfer efficiency optimization. The energy transfer phenomenon was also monitored by time-resolved luminescence microscopy experiments. At elevated concentration (>10(-)(5) M), Tb-strep precipitated in the form of pellets with long-lived green luminescence, whereas addition of Biot-QD led to red emitting pellets, with long excited-state decay times. The Ln-QD donor-acceptor hybrids appear as highly sensitive analytical tools both for TR-FIA and time-resolved luminescence microscopy experiments.  相似文献

Optical methods play an important role in process analytical technologies (PAT). Four examples of optical process and quality sensing (OPQS) are presented, which are based on three important experimental techniques: near-infrared absorption, luminescence quenching, and a novel method, photon density wave (PDW) spectroscopy. These are used to evaluate four process and quality parameters related to beer brewing and polyurethane (PU) foaming processes: the ethanol content and the oxygen (O2) content in beer, the biomass in a bioreactor, and the cellular structures of PU foam produced in a pilot production plant.  相似文献

A series of chromone Schiff base complexes were prepared and analytically as well as spectroscopically characterized. The ligand was found to act as a monobasic tridentate ligand bonded covalently or coordinatively to the metal ion via deprotonated hydroxyl group, azomethine nitrogen atom and carbonyl oxygen atom of antipyrine moiety. Both electronic spectra and magnetic measurements indicated an octahedral or a distorted octahedral geometry around the metal ions for all metal complexes except the nickel complex, which had a tetrahedral geometry. In addition, the ability of the newly prepared compounds to activate the tumour suppressor p53 in cancer cells was studied, with zinc and copper complexes showing promising activities for p53 ubiquitination compared with diphenylimidazole (reference drug).  相似文献

In this work, clay‐Na particles are used as the adsorbent for the solid‐phase extraction of acidic compounds. The novel sorbent under study is based on high‐specific surface area, cation‐exchange capacity designed specifically to offer ion‐exchange properties with the goal being to selectively extract a group of acidic compounds. The effects of the extraction parameters including extraction elution solvent, sample volume and pH. In optimum conditions, the repeatability for one fiber (= 3), expressed as % relative standard deviation, was between 0.3 and 4.3% for the acid compounds. The detection limits for the studied acidic compounds were between 0.1–0.6 μg/L. The developed method offers the advantages of being simple to use and having a low cost of equipment.  相似文献

Recently, the design of new biological metal-ligand complexes has gained a special interest all over the world. In this research, new series of mixed ligand complexes from meloxicam (H2mel) and glycine (Gly) were synthesized. Structures of the compounds were investigated employing elemental analyses, infrared, electronic absorption, 1H NMR, thermal analyses, effective magnetic moment and conductivity. The estimated molar conductivity of the compounds in 1 × 10−3 M DMF solution indicates the non-electrolyte existence of the examined complexes. Additionally, the effective magnetic moment values refer to the complexes found as octahedral molecular geometry. The data of the infrared spectra showed the chelation of H2mel and Gly with metal ions from amide oxygen and nitrogen of the thyizol groups of H2mel and through nitrogen of the amide group and oxygen of the carboxylic group for Gly. Thermal analyses indicated that the new complexes have good thermal stability and initially lose hydration water molecules followed by coordinated water molecules, Gly and H2mel. The kinetic parameters were calculated graphically using Coats–Redfern and Horowitz–Metzeger methods at n = 1 and n ≠ 1. The density functional theory (DFT) calculations were performed at B3LYP levels. The optimized geometry of the ligand and its complexes were obtained based on the optimized structures. The data indicated that the complexes are soft with η value in the range 0.114 to 0.086, while η = 0.140 for free H2mel. The new prepared complexes were investigated as antibacterial and antifungal agents against some phyto- and human pathogens and the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) data showed that complex (A) has the lowest MIC for Listeria and E. coli (10.8 µg/mL).  相似文献

Two optical AND gates built in 2D photonic crystal (PhC) platform have been proposed and numerically simulated using 2D finite element method (FEM). The suggested logic gates consist of five PhC waveguides and silicon annular ring resonator filled by nematic liquid crystal (NLC) of type E7. The first proposed AND gate can handle two inputs and support two operating wavelengths, λ = 1.5 and 1.55 µm. However, the second proposed AND gate can handle three inputs at λ = 1.5 µm. The reported logic gates offer high and low transmission levels with a threshold of 0.5 and an ultra-high bit rate of not less than 0.3 Tbits/s. Further, the suggested AND gates operation can be switched off by using the NLC layer.  相似文献

2-Cyanoacetohydrazide and 2-amino-4,5,6,7-tetrahydrobenzo[b]thiophene derivatives were exploited as starting materials for the syntheses of novel thienopyrimidines and triazolothienopyrimidines. The proclivity of these compounds toward one-carbon donor reagents such as carbon disulfide, phenyl isothiocyanate, and aromatic aldehydes was investigated. The structures of all synthesized compounds were ascertained by spectral and analytical data. The antimicrobial activity of the target synthesized compounds was tested against various microorganisms.  相似文献

Fifteen organic compounds were prepared from triethanolamine and its derivative. The triethanolamine was polymerized by condensation to get P4, P6, and P8 at different molecular weight. The P8 was ethoxylated at different ethylene oxide units (en) (40, 100, and 120) to obtain three compounds (E(en)P8). Every degree of ethoxylate was esterified with 1, 4, and 8 moles of oleic acid to get on 9 ethoxylated polytriethanolamine esters (E(en)P8Om). The effect of adding these organic compounds on the electrochemical behavior of carbon steel in 1 M HCl was investigated by using the weight loss technique. The reported results in this study show that the addition of these surfactants inhibits the corrosion of carbon steel. The inhibition efficiency (I%) for each inhibitor increases with increasing the concentration. The maximum inhibition efficiency (95%) was obtained by (E(40)P8O1) at 600 ppm. The inhibitive efficiency was discussed on the light of chemical structure of the used inhibitors.  相似文献
