The interaction of ethylenediamine with iodic acid by the slow evaporation method at room temperature gives rise to the crystals of α-C2H10N2(IO3)2 and β-C2H10N2(IO3)2 denoted as α-EBI and β-EBI, respectively. The acentric crystal structures of both polymorphs that consist of [C2H10N2]2+ cations and [IO3]? anions connected together by N–H…O hydrogen bonds are discussed and compared. The optical properties of both polymorphs were determined using UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS) showing a wide transparency windows. The DFT calculations using the mixed B3PW91/[6–31?+?(d, p), LanL2Dz] basis set of optimized geometries, dipole moment (μ), polarizability (α), first static hyperpolarizability (β), and population analysis were also reported. The experimental and theoretical IR and Raman spectra were compared, and the careful and complete assignment of the vibrational motions of both compounds was undertaken with the aid of potential energy distribution (PED) analysis. DSC and AC conductivity analysis revealed that α-C2H10N2(IO3)2 and β-C2H10N2(IO3)2 undergo a first-order phase transition around 360 K. The electrical σtot (ω, T) conductivity obeyed to Jonscher’s power law and the temperature dependence of the S(T) parameter showed that the electrical conductivity of both polymorph phases might be treated using the correlated barrier hopping (CBH) model.
This study examines the in vitro antimicrobial and antioxidant activities of the methanolic extracts of three Salvia species from Tunisia: Salvia aegyptiaca L., S. argentea L. and S. verbenaca Ssp. clandestina L. Pugsley. The extracts inhibited the growth of dermatophytes and of bacteria responsible for unpleasant odours to varying degrees; the pathogenic yeasts Candida albicans and Cryptococcus neoformans, the filamentous fungi Aspergillus fumigatus and selected dog otitis bacteria were all resistant to each of the extracts. The extracts were screened for their antioxidant activities using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl free radical scavenging and 2,2'-azinobis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid) test systems, and gave positive results in both tests. The extracts of S. aegyptiaca were the most active in both tests, followed by those of S. verbenaca, then S. argentea. These results confirm the antimicrobial and antioxidant activities of the genus Salvia and underline the potential of these plants either as natural preservatives or in pharmaceutical applications. 相似文献

In this Letter, we show how the complete geometric quantization extends to specific supersymplectic supermanifolds. More precisely, we extend this procedure to OSp(1/2)-coadjoint orbits, which are graded extensions of elliptic Sp(2, )-coadjoint orbits. Our approach exploits results obtained in a previous work, where the notion of a super-Kähler supermanifold was defined, and the former orbits were shown to be nontrivial examples of such a notion. As their underlying Kähler manifolds, these supermanifolds carry a natural (super-Kähler) polarization, a crucial notion that was so far lacking. Geometric quantization leads here to a nontrivial representation of osp(1/2), which is realized in a space of square integrable holomorphic sections of a super-Hermitian complex line bundle sheaf-with-connection over the homogenous space OSp(1/2)/U(1). 相似文献
In this paper the optimal control of a single-channel bulk service queueing system with random server capacity is investigated. Given an accumulation level r, the server stops processing new customers whenever the queue falls below r and resumes service when the queue reaches level r again. Server capacity becomes random following an idle period. A quick search procedure is designed to determine the value of r that yields the minimum expected total cost per unit of time. The effect of the server capacity distribution on the optimal control is then studied. Finally, a sensitivity analysis is conducted in order to assess the extent to which our results are valid. 相似文献
