The increasing demand on limited water supplies has accelerated the wastewater reuse and reclamation. We investigated gamma irradiation effects on wastewater by measuring differences in the legislated parameters, aiming to reuse the wastewater. Effluents samples were collected at the urban wastewater treatment station of Tetouan and were irradiated at different doses ranging from 0 to 14 kGy using a Co60 gamma source. The results showed an elimination of bacterial flora, a decrease of biochemical and chemical oxygen demand, and higher conservation of nutritious elements. The results of this study indicated that gamma irradiation might be a good choice for the reuse of wastewater for agricultural activities. 相似文献

A simple, stability-indicating, reversed-phase liquid chromatographic method was developed for the determination of lacidipine in the presence of its degradation products. The analysis was carried out using a 150 mm × 4.6 mm i.d., 5 μm particle size Nucleodur MN-C18 column. Mobile phase containing a mixture of acetonitrile and 0.02 M phosphate buffer (70:30) at pH = 5.0 was pumped at a flow rate of 1 mL min?1 with UV-detection at 254 nm. The method showed good linearity in the range of 0.06–15 μg mL?1 with a limit of detection (S/N = 3) of 0.016 μg mL?1 (3.5 × 10?8 M). The suggested method was successfully applied for the analysis of lacidipine in bulk and in commercial tablets with average recoveries of 100.19 ± 0.81% and 100.05 ± 0.69%, respectively. The results were favorably compared to those obtained by a reference method. The suggested method was utilized to investigate the kinetics of alkaline, acidic, peroxide and photo-induced degradation of the drug. The apparent first-order rate constant, half-life times and activation energies of the degradation process were calculated. The pH profile curve was derived. The proposed method was successfully applied to the content uniformity testing of tablets. 相似文献

The data obtained for density, viscosity, and dielectric constant are used for the study of the physical properties of 2-ethoxy ethanol-water mixtures. Density measurements showed the presence of contraction in the volume of the mixture and also in the partial molal volume of the components. Viscosity data provided supporting evidence of interaction between the two solvents. The dielectric data for the system were studied in terms of a deviation fraction, δD, representing the deviation from an ideal volume mixture. The results are also compared with the data obtained in the literature for water-2-methoxy ethanol and water-ethylene glycol mixtures. 相似文献

Oxaliplatin [1,2‐diaminocyclohexane (dach)‐Pt complex] is a platinum anticancer drug which is mainly used in the treatment of advanced colorectal cancer, particularly in Heated Intraoperative Chemotherapy (HIPEC) for the treatment of colorectal peritoneal carcinomatosis. In order to better understand the penetration of oxaliplatin in treated tissues we performed a direct imaging of tissue sections from HIPEC‐like treated rat kidney using matrix‐assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) mass spectrometry. This procedure allowed the detection and localization of oxaliplatin and its metabolites, the monocysteine and monomethionine complexes, in kidney sections. Specifically, oxaliplatin and its metabolites were localized exclusively in the kidney cortex, suggesting that it did not penetrate deeply into the organ. Based on these results, an imaging analysis of human tumors collected after HIPEC is currently in progress to assess the distribution of oxaliplatin and/or metabolites with the aim of defining clinical conditions to improve drug penetration. Uncertainty is an inherent aspect of the open-pit mine production scheduling problem (MPSP); however, little is reported in the literature about solution methods for the stochastic versions of the problem. In this paper, two variants of a variable neighbourhood descent algorithm are proposed for solving the MPSP with metal uncertainty. The proposed methods are tested and compared on actual large-scale instances, and very good solutions, with an average deviation of less than 3% from optimality, are obtained within a few minutes up to a few hours. 相似文献

Simple and sensitive synchronous fluorimetric, and second derivative synchronous fluorometric methods were developed for the validated and simultaneous determination of sulpiride (SLP) and its alkaline degradation product (DSLP). The method is based on measuring the synchronous fluorescence of both the drug and its degradation product in borate buffer of pH 8 at Δλ of 45 nm. The peak amplitude (2D) was measured at 295.5 and 342 nm for SLP and DSLP, respectively. The different experimental parameters affecting the synchronous fluorescence intensity of both compounds were studied and optimized. The fluorescence-concentration plots were rectilinear over the range of 0.05-1.0 and 2-10 μg mL−1 for SLP and DSLP, respectively. The limits of detection (LOD) were 0.02 and 0.4 μg mL−1 and quantification limits (LOQs) were 0.05 and 1.2 μg mL−1 for SLP and DSLP, respectively. The proposed methods were successfully applied to commercial capsules and tablets. Statistical comparison of the results with those of the official method revealed good agreement and proved that there were no significant difference in the accuracy and precision between the two methods, respectively. The method was utilized to study the kinetics of the alkaline induced degradation of the drug. The application was further extended to include the in vivo and in vitro determination of sulpiride. The mean % recoveries (n = 3) were 100.22 ± 2.04 and 92.00 ± 3.00 for spiked and real human plasma, respectively. 相似文献

Electrostatic interactions play an important role in the formation of noncovalent complexes. Our previous work has highlighted the role of certain amino acid residues, such as arginine, glutamate, aspartate, and phosphorylated/sulfated residues, in the formation of salt bridges resulting in noncovalent complexes between peptides. Tandem mass spectrometry (MS) studies of these complexes using collision-induced dissociation (CID) have provided information on their relative stability. However, product-ion spectra produced by CID have been unable to assign specifically the site of interaction for the complex. In this work, tandem MS experiments were conducted on noncovalent complexes using both electron capture dissociation (ECD) and electron-transfer dissociation (ETD). The resulting spectra were dominated by intramolecular fragments of the complex with the electrostatic interaction site intact. Based upon these data, we were able to assign the binding site for the peptides forming the noncovalent complex. 相似文献

Poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate), PHEMA, brushes were prepared by surface-initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (SI-ATRP) on silanized glass slides bearing grafted initiators. High resolution X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) highlighted the surface chemical changes of the glass slides upon silanization and surface-confined ATRP of HEMA. Particularly, the initiator sites from the silane were detected by their bromine Br3d core electron peak whilst the O/C atomic ratios and the high resolution C1s region of the glass–PHEMA hybrids are comparable to those of pure PHEMA, thus confirming that the PHEMA chains have indeed attached to the surface. The glass–PHEMA hybrids were found to behave as anti-fouling ultrathin coatings as they resisted non-specific Salmonella typhimurium bacterial adhesion. This behaviour is driven by the hydrophilic properties of the glass–PHEMA hybrids which were assessed by contact angle measurements. In contrast, after activation of PHEMA brushes by S. typhimurium antibodies through the trichlorotriazine coupling procedure, the bacteria specifically and strongly attached to the PHEMA-coated glass slides as judged from optical microscope observation. 相似文献

In Algeria, few studies have been conducted on the evaluation of roadside soil pollution. A total of 34 soil samples (28 roadside and 6 off-road) was obtained at 0–20?cm depth along the RN 35 national road. Heavy metal (Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Ni, Pb, and Zn) contents were extracted using aqua regia digestion and determined using atomic absorption spectrometry. Background values of heavy metal contents were determined using the robust statistical method of median plus two times the median absolute deviation. Single- and multi-element pollution and ecological risk indices were calculated. The results showed that background values were 2.5?±?0.3, 64.9?±?8.1, 28.0?±?4.1, 29371.5?±?4403.0, 32.9?±?4.4, 72.2?±?12.8, and 445.1?±?62.9?mg/kg for Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Ni, Pb, and Zn, respectively. The results were all higher than their corresponding median values. Single-element pollution indices (enrichment factor and geoaccumulation index) showed that the pollution is primarily due to Pb and Zn. Multi-element pollution index (Nemerow index) indicated that only 3% of the soil samples are strongly contaminated, whereas 23% are seriously contaminated. The potential ecological risk index showed that Cd is the most harmful element, followed by Pb and Zn. 65% of the soil samples had moderate potential ecological risk, while only 3% had considerable potential ecological risk. This study may be used as a baseline for future monitoring and as a tool for decision-making regarding environmental protection policies and sustainability of this semiarid agroecosystem. 相似文献

Experimental studies of phase diagram and morphology of mixtures composed of linear poly(2-ethylhexylacrylate) (poly-2EHA) of molecular weight Mw = 92000g/mol and E7, an eutectic blend of nematic liquid crystals (LCs), were performed. The latter consists of four cyanoparaphenylenes, i.e. 4-cyano-4?-n-pentyl-biphenyl (5CB), 4-cyano-4?-n-heptyl-biphenyl (7CB), 4-cyano-4?-n-oxyoctyl-biphenyl (8OCB) and 4-cyano-4?’-n-pentyl-p-biphenyl (5CT). Thermal properties of the poly-2EHA/E7 system were studied by differential scanning calorimetry and the sample morphologies were investigated by optical microscopy. Phase diagram analysis revealed an increase of the nematic–isotropic transition temperature when E7 was added to poly-2EHA, compared to pure E7. This effect, related to a preferential miscibility phenomenon of E7 components towards poly-2EHA, was evidenced by gas chromatography analysis coupled to mass spectrometry, allowing to qualify and quantify the content of phase separated LC domains. Thermograms of model LC mixtures including 5CB, 7CB, 8OCB and 5CT, which correspond to their composition in segregated LC domains of poly-2EHA/E7, present strong deviations from eutectic behaviour. In order to access the impact of such variations for practical applications, such a model LC mixture was introduced in photochemically crosslinked 2-EHA (polycross-2EHA). Surprisingly, the electro-optical response of the obtained polycross-2EHA/LC films was considerably improved compared to the original polycross-2EHA/E7 system. 相似文献
