Analytical solutions for two-dimensional Markov processes suffer from the state space explosion problem. Two stage tandem networks are effectively used for analytical modelling of various communication and computer systems which have tandem system behaviour. Performance evaluation of tandem systems with feedbacks can be handled with these models. However, because of the numerical difficulties caused by large state spaces, considering server failures and repairs at the second stage employing multiple servers has not been possible. The solution proposed in this paper is approximate with a high degree of accuracy. Using this approach, two stage open networks with multiple servers, break downs, and repairs at the second stage as well as feedback can be modelled as three-dimensional Markov processes and solved for performability measures. Results show that, unlike other approaches such as spectral expansion, the steady state solution is possible regardless of the number of servers employed.  相似文献

Synthesis of two-component organogelation system was performed very easy and concise manner from Nε-palmitoyl-L-lysine ethyl ester and Nε-miristoyl-L-lysine ethyl ester in which they were used as base component and N-lauroyl-L-amino acids (amino acids:, alanine, leucine and phenylalanine as acid components.). And their organogelation properties were examined in different pharmaceutical fluids such as liquid paraffin, fatty acid ethyl, and isopropyl esters. In this way, gelation efficiency was ascertained variations of alkanoyl moieties and combination of different amino acids in the gelator structures. Characterization of gelators was performed via thermal measurement such as Tg and gel–sol enthalpy change; SEM and FTIR as optical methods.  相似文献

Multichromophoric boron‐dipyrromethene (Bodipy) dyes synthesized on phenylene‐ethynylene platforms have been be converted to energy transfer cassettes in a one‐step chemical transformation. Excitation energy transfer processes in these highly symmetrical derivatives were studied in detail, including time‐resolved fluorescence spectroscopy techniques. Excitation spectra and the emission lifetimes suggest efficient energy transfer between the donor and acceptor chromophore. These novel energy transfer cassettes, while highlighting a short‐cut approach to similar energy transfer systems, could be useful as large pseudo‐Stokes shift multichromophoric dyes with potential applications in diverse applications.  相似文献

The possibility of using characteristic X-rays from radioactive elements in activatio analysis was investigated during this work with particular emphasis on (n, ) products. The detection sensitivities for some elements are determined by X-rays employing a235Pu-Be neutron source. In this study, we have prepared pH/temperature-sensitive imprinted ionic poly(N-tert-butylacrylamide-co-acrylamide/maleic acid) [P(TBA-co-AAm/MA)] hydrogels for bovine serum albumin (BSA) by using molecular imprinting method. BSA adsorption from aqueous BSA solutions was investigated with two types of hydrogel systems prepared by non-imprinted and imprinted methods. Hydrogels imprinted with BSA showed higher adsorption capacity and specificity for BSA than hydrogels prepared by the usual procedure. At all studied conditions, the highest BSA adsorption was observed in the hydrogel imprinted with 8.63 wt.-% BSA. In addition, the imprinted hydrogels exhibited both for good selectivity BSA and high adsorption rate depending on the number of BSA-sized cavities. Adsorption studies showed that other stimuli, such as pH, temperature and initial BSA concentration also influenced the BSA adsorption capacity of both non-imprinted and imprinted hydrogels.  相似文献

A numerical simulation of minimum B‐jumps in horizontal rectangular channels having an abrupt drop is given. Gradually varied, steady, supercritical flow is assumed as the initial condition. An unsteady flow is created by increasing the downstream depth. One‐dimensional, unsteady Saint‐Venant equations are solved by using the MacCormack and the dissipative two–four explicit finite difference schemes. The steady flow solution is obtained by treating the time variable as an iteration parameter and letting the solution converge to the steady state. The abrupt drop is treated as an interior boundary and solved by the method of characteristics. The results are compared with experimental and analytical studies. Nanomagnetite thermosets were obtained by thermally activated ring opening copolymerization of benzoxazine groups coated on the surface of the nanomagnetite with bare benzoxazine. For this purpose, carboxylic acid containing 1,3‐benzoxazine was synthesized and covalently bonded on magnetite nanoparticles by postcoating method. The average size of benzoxazine coated nanoparticles was 40–100 nm as determined by Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) measurements. The crystal structure of benzoxazine coated nanoparticles was shown to be magnetite by X‐ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. Thermally activated curing behavior of nanomagnetite‐benzoxazines has also been studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Magnetic and thermal properties of the cured samples were investigated. It was shown that the precursor nanomagnetite benzoxazine and cured samples exhibited typical ferromagnetic character with low coercivities between 1.5 and 2.5 Oe. Analysis of x-ray crystal structures has clarified the nature of antibody-antigen interactions, and the conformational basis of specificity and affinity, but does not provide a clear picture of the dynamics of antigen recognition. In particular, we know that primary antibodies can bind a wider variety of ligands than their secondary counterparts--which are tuned for high specificity and affinity. Crystal structures show that in the absence of antigen the secondary antibody adopts a structure preformed for binding, but that the primary antibody does not. Our calculations show that the unligated state of the primary antibody has a well-defined structure, fluctuating no more widely than that of the secondary antibody, and undergoes a discrete structural rearrangement in response to ligand.  相似文献

The 1995 Shallow Water Acoustics in a Random Medium (SWARM) experiment [Apel et al., IEEE J. Ocean. Eng. 22, 445-464 (1997)] was conducted off the New Jersey coast. The experiment featured two well-populated vertical receiving arrays, which permitted the measured acoustic field to be decomposed into its normal modes. The decomposition was repeated for successive transmissions allowing the amplitude of each mode to be tracked. The modal amplitudes were observed to decorrelate with time scales on the order of 100 s [Headrick et al., J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 107(1), 201-220 (2000)]. In the present work, a theoretical model is proposed to explain the observed decorrelation. Packets of intense internal waves are modeled as coherent structures moving along the acoustic propagation path without changing shape. The packets cause mode coupling and their motion results in a changing acoustic interference pattern. The model is consistent with the rapid decorrelation observed in SWARM. The model also predicts the observed partial recorrelation of the field at longer time scales. The model is first tested in simple continuous-wave simulations using canonical representations for the internal waves. More detailed time-domain simulations are presented mimicking the situation in SWARM. Modeling results are compared to experimental data.  相似文献
