We define Toeplitz operators on all Dirichlet spaces on the unit ball of
and develop their basic properties. We characterize bounded, compact, and Schatten-class Toeplitz operators with positive
symbols in terms of Carleson measures and Berezin transforms. Our results naturally extend those known for weighted Bergman
spaces, a special case applies to the Arveson space, and we recover the classical Hardy-space Toeplitz operators in a limiting
case; thus we unify the theory of Toeplitz operators on all these spaces. We apply our operators to a characterization of
bounded, compact, and Schatten-class weighted composition operators on weighted Bergman spaces of the ball. We lastly investigate
some connections between Toeplitz and shift operators.

We continue our study of families of pairs of matrix-valued meromorphic functions P(ρ,P) depending on two parameters p and P introduced in [2]. These include as special cases the projective Schur, Nevanlinna and Carathéodory classes. A two sided Carathéodory Fejér interpolation problem is defined and solved in P(ρ,P), using the fundamental matrix inequality method. A corresponding Schur algorithm is studied. A Riesz space E is said to have b-property if each subset which is order bounded in E~~ is order bounded in E. The relationship between b-property and completeness, being a retract and the absolute weak topology |σ|(E~, E) is studied. Perfect Riesz spaces are characterized in terms of b-property. It is shown that b-property coincides with the Levi property in Dedekind complete Frechet lattices.

Our purpose was to investigate, by magnetic resonance (MR) spectroscopy, the metabolite changes in the brains of subjects in the shoemaking industry who had been chronically exposed to organic solvents. A total of 49 male subjects and 30 age-matched healthy volunteers underwent detailed neurological and psychiatric examinations. All subjects had long-echo [repetition time (TR) 2000 ms, echo time (TE) 136 ms] single-voxel MR spectroscopy. Voxels (15 x 15 x 15 mm(3)) were placed in the parietal white matter, thalamus, and basal ganglia. N-acetylaspartate (NAA)/creatine (Cr) and choline (Cho)/Cr ratios were calculated. There was no significant difference between the study subjects and the control group in NAA/Cr ratios obtained from thalamus, basal ganglia, and parietal white matter. Cho/Cr ratios in thalamus, basal ganglia, and parietal white matter were found to be significantly increased compared to controls. There was a positive correlation between basal ganglia Cho/Cr ratio and duration of exposure (r = 0.63). MR spectroscopy should be performed to reveal metabolite changes and determine the degree of brain involvement in solvent-related industry workers. 相似文献

We present a nonlinear thermodynamic formalism coupled with an electrostatic analysis of uniaxial n-layered compositionally graded heteroepitaxial ferroelectric films and extend this formalism to continuously graded ferroelectric films. We show that the domain morphology and its subsequent evolution in the presence of an electric field are determined by the spontaneous polarisation of the film induced through the compositional grading. The results for compositionally graded epitaxial (001) (Ba,Sr)TiO(3) and (001) Pb(Zr,Ti)O(3) films on (001)SrTiO(3) demonstrate that, while the domain morphologies in these two films are different in appearance, the dielectric displacement and the dielectric permittivity of such graded ferroelectric films exhibit a strong nonlinear behaviour which results in a high dielectric tunability. These findings indicate that it is possible to design specific domain structures that will yield desirable dielectric properties by controlling the strength of the compositional grading in the films. 相似文献

Matrix-valued functions analytic and contractive in the open unit disk (Schur functions) play an important role in system theory. They represent transfer functions of causal time-invariant dissipative systems. In this paper we show how a Schur function can still be associated to a k-periodic system. This function satisfies a certain symmetry condition (conditions (1.7) for k=2 and (4.4) for general k). We study a general bitangential interpolation problem for the Schur functions satisfying this symmetry condition. 相似文献

This is the second and final part of a paper which appeared in a preceding issue of this journal. Herein the methods developed in the earlier sections of this paper are used first, in conjunction with some ideas of Krein, to develop models for simple, closed symmetric [resp. isometric]operators with finite and equal deficiency indices. A number of other related issues and applications are then discussed briefly. These include entropy inequalities, interpolation, parametrization ofJ inner matrices, the Schur algorithm and canonical equations. We consider stationary multiscale systems as defined by Basseville, Benveniste, Nikoukhah and Willsky. We show that there are deep analogies with the discrete time non stationary setting as developed by the first author, Dewilde and Dym. Following these analogies we define a point evaluation with values in a C*–algebra and the corresponding “Hardy space” in which Cauchy’s formula holds. This point evaluation is used to define in this context the counterpart of classical notions such as Blaschke factors. 相似文献
