The preparation of 3‐miktoarm star terpolymers using nitroxide mediated radical polymerization (NMP), ring opening polymerization (ROP), and click reaction [3 + 2] are carried out by applying two types of one‐pot technique. In the first one‐pot technique, NMP of styrene (St), ROP of ε‐caprolactone (ε‐CL), and [3 + 2] click reaction (between azide end‐functionalized poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG‐N3)/or azide end‐functionalized poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA‐N3) and alkyne) are carried out in the presence of 2‐(hydroxymethyl)‐2‐methyl‐3‐oxo‐3‐(2‐phenyl‐2‐(2,2,6,6‐tetramethylpiperidin‐1‐yloxy)ethoxy) propyl pent‐4‐ynoate, 2 , as an initiator for 48 h at 125 °C (one‐pot/one‐step). As a second technique, NMP of St and ROP of ε‐CL were conducted using 2 as an initiator for 20 h at 125 °C, and subsequently PEG‐N3 or azide end‐functionalized poly(tert‐butyl acrylate (PtBA‐N3) was added to the polymerization mixture, followed by a click reaction [3 + 2] for 24 h at room temperature (one‐pot/two‐step). The 3‐miktoarm star terpolymers, PEG‐poly(ε‐caprolactone)(PCL)‐PS, PtBA‐PCL‐PS and PMMA‐PCL‐PS, were recovered by a simple precipitation in methanol without further purification. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Two samples of ABCD 4‐miktoarm star quarterpolymer with A = polystyrene (PS), B = poly(ε‐caprolactone) (PCL), C = poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) or poly(tert‐butyl acrylate) (PtBA), and D = poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) were prepared using click reaction strategy (Cu(I)‐catalyzed Huisgen [3 + 2] reaction). Thus, first, predefined block copolymers of different polymerization routes, PS‐b‐PCL with azide and PMMA‐b‐PEG and PtBA‐b‐PEG copolymers with alkyne functionality, were synthesized and then these blocks were combined together in the presence of Cu(I)/N,N,N′,N″,N″‐pentamethyldiethylenetriamine as a catalyst in DMF at room temperature to give the target 4‐miktoarm star quarterpolymers. Synchrotron‐based nuclear resonance vibrational spectroscopy (NRVS) using the Mössbauer isotope 161Dy has been employed for the first time to study the vibrational properties of a single‐molecule magnet (SMM) incorporating DyIII, namely [Dy(Cy3PO)2(H2O)5]Br3?2 (Cy3PO)?2 H2O ?2 EtOH. The experimental partial phonon density of states (pDOS), which includes all vibrational modes involving a displacement of the DyIII ion, was reproduced by means of simulations using density functional theory (DFT), enabling the assignment of all intramolecular vibrational modes. This study proves that 161Dy NRVS is a powerful experimental tool with significant potential to help to clarify the role of phonons in SMMs.  相似文献

Operando nuclear resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (NRIXS) and X-ray absorption fine-structure spectroscopy (XAFS) measurements were used to gain insight into the structure and surface composition of FeCu and FeAg nanoparticles (NPs) during the electrochemical CO2 reduction (CO2RR) and to extract correlations with their catalytic activity and selectivity. The formation of a core–shell structure during CO2RR for FeAg NPs was inferred from the analysis of the operando NRIXS data (phonon density of states, PDOS) and XAFS measurements. Electrochemical analysis of the FeAg NPs revealed a faradaic selectivity of 36 % for CO in 0.1 M KHCO3 at −1.1 V vs. RHE, similar to that of pure Ag NPs. In contrast, a predominant selectivity towards H2 evolution is obtained in the case of the FeCu NPs, analogous to the results obtained for pure Fe NPs, although small Cu NPs have also been shown to favor H2 production.  相似文献

The incorporation of allylic monomers into highly reactive vinyl polymerizations provides a means to control molecular weight, conversion, and Trommsdorff effect to produce copolymers with desirable performance characteristics. The copolymerization behavior of styrene with sec‐butenyl acetate, whose copolymerization properties have not been reported, is investigated. Copolymers were produced via semicontinuous emulsion polymerization and characterized via NMR, gel permeation chromatography, differential scanning calorimetry, dynamic light scattering, and atomic force microscopy. A high degree of chain termination due to allylic hydrogen abstraction was observed, as expected, with resultant decreases in molecular weight and in monomer conversion. However, high conversions were achieved, and it was possible to incorporate high percentages of the allylic acetate comonomer into the polymer chain. The beat pattern produced by nuclear resonant scattering of synchrotron radiation scattered from two stainless steel foils in constant relative motion has been measured at 3-ID beamline at the Advanced Photon Source. Contrary to theoretical prediction and different from the result in glassy material, the scattering in Bragg directions from single crystal of CoGa diffusional smoothening of the quantum beats was absent within the statistical errors.
