Trimethyl (2S,3R)- and (2R,3R)-[2-2H1]-homocitrates, 10b and 10c respectively, and dimethyl (2S,3R)- and (2R,3R)-[2-2H1]-homocitric lactones, 11b and 11c respectively, have been synthesised from shikimic acid and [2-2H]-shikimic acid by a route which defines the stereochemistry of the two chiral centres in each compound. Cu(2)S nanocrystals with disklike morphologies were synthesized by the solventless thermolysis of a copper alkylthiolate molecular precursor. The nanodisks ranged from circular to hexagonal prisms from 3 to 150 nm in diameter and 3 to 12 nm in thickness depending on the growth conditions. High resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) revealed the high chalcocite (hexagonal) crystal structure oriented with the c-axis ([001] direction) orthogonal to the favored growth direction. This disk morphology is thermodynamically favored as it allows the extension of the higher energy [100] and [110] surfaces with respect to the [001] planes. The hexagonal prism morphology also appears to relate to increased C-S bond cleavage of adsorbed dodecanethiol along the more energetic [100] facets relative to [001] facets. Monodisperse Cu(2)S nanodisks self-assemble into ribbons of stacked platelets. This solventless approach provides a new technique to synthesize anisotropic metal chalcogenide nanostructures with shapes that depend on both the face-sensitive thermodynamic surface energy and the surface reactivity. 相似文献

Through an estrogenic activity bioassay-guided fractionation of the 70% ethanolic extract of Cassia tora seeds two new phenolic triglucosides, torachrysone 8-O-[beta-D-glucopyranosyl(1-->3)-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl(1-->6)-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside] (1) and toralactone 9-O-[beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-->3)-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-->6)-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside] (2), along with seven known compounds were isolated. The structures of the new compounds were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic and chemical evidence. The estrogenic activity of the fractions and the isolated compounds were investigated using the estrogen-dependent proliferation of MCF-7 cells. In addition, the yeast two hybrid assay expressing estrogen receptor alpha (ERalpha) and beta (ERbeta) and the ERalpha competitor screening assay (ligand binding screen) were used to verify the binding affinities of the isolated compounds to ER. Furthermore, a naringinase pre-treatment of the 70% alcoholic extract of Cassia tora seeds resulted in a significant increase in its estrogenic activity. From the naringinase pre-treated extract six compounds were isolated, among which 6-hydroxymusizin and aurantio-obtusin showed the most potent estrogenic activity, while torachrysone, rubrofusarin and toralactone showed a significant anti-estrogenic activity. Finally, the structure requirements responsible for the estrogenic activity of the isolated compounds were studied by investigating the activity of several synthetic compounds and chemically modifying the isolated compounds. The basic nucleus 1,3,8-trihyroxynaphthalene (T(3)HN) was found to play a principal role in the binding affinity of these compounds to ER. 相似文献

Tungsten isotope composition of a sample of deep-seated rock can record the influence of core-mantle interaction of the parent magma. Samples of kimberlite, which is known as a carrier of diamond, from the deep mantle might exhibit effects of core-mantle interaction. Although tungsten isotope anomaly was reported for kimberlites from South Africa, a subsequent investigation did not verify the anomaly. The magnesium-rich and calcium-rich chemical composition of kimberlite might engender difficulty during chemical separation of tungsten for isotope analyses. This paper presents a simple, one-step anion exchange technique for precise and accurate determination of tungsten isotopes in kimberlites using multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (MC-ICP-MS). Large quantities of Ca and Mg in kimberlite samples were precipitated and removed with aqueous H(2)SO(4). Highly pure fractions of tungsten for isotopic measurements were obtained following an anion exchange chromatographic procedure involving mixed acids. That procedure enabled efficient removal of high field strength elements (HFSE), such as Hf, Zr and Ti, which are small ions that carry strong charges and develop intense electrostatic fields. The tungsten yields were 85%-95%. Advantages of this system include less time and less use of reagents. Precise and accurate isotopic measurements are possible using fractions of tungsten that are obtained using this method. We present the results of the ab initio theoretical study of the electronic properties, and first and second harmonic generation for CdX compounds with zinc-blende structure performed using the full potential linearized augmented plane wave method. Our calculations show that these compounds have similar structures. The valence band maximum and the conduction band minimum are located at Gamma, resulting in a direct energy gap. The energy gap of these compounds decreases when S is replaced by Se and Se by Te, in agreement with the experimental data and previous theoretical work. This can be attributed to the increase in the bandwidth of the conduction bands. The optical spectra are analyzed and the origin of some of the peaks in the spectra is discussed in terms of the calculated electronic structure. Our calculations for the linear optical properties show excellent agreement with the available experimental data. 相似文献

The adsorption and the kinetics of the cation exchange of rhodamine-6G (Rh-6G) with Na(+)-montmorillonite (Na(+)-MMT) have been studied. The binding parameters of Rh-6G have been determined by applying Freundlich and D-R isotherms. The enthalpy and the entropy of adsorption have been determined. The isosteric heat of adsorption has also been determined and decreases with increasing the concentration of Rh-6G. Increasing the concentration of Rh-6G led to a decrease in the adsorption capacity, which attributed to the formation of Rh-6G aggregates. Kinetic measurements of the cation exchange were followed up using a stopped-flow electrical conductivity detection unit. The cation-exchange process exhibited first-order kinetics with respect to the dye concentration and inversely proportional to the clay concentration. The measurements were accomplished at different temperatures and the activation parameters were determined. Increasing the Na(+)-MMT concentration led to a decrease in the rate constant. The latter is also affected by changing the exchangeable cation. 相似文献

Albumin conjugates of synthetic fragments of the capsular polysaccharide of the Gram-negative bacterium Neisseria meningitidis serogroup A were prepared. The fragments include monosaccharides 1 [alpha-D-ManpNAc-(1-->O)-(CH(2))(2)NH(2)] and 2 [6-O-P(O)(O(-))(2)-alpha-D-ManpNAc-(1-->O)-(CH(2))(2)NH(2)], disaccharide 3 [alpha-D-ManpNAc-[1-->O-P(O)(O(-))-->6]-alpha-D-ManpNAc-(1-->O)-(CH(2))(2)NH(2)], and trisaccharide 4 [alpha-D-ManpNAc-[1-->O-P(O)(O(-))-->6]-alpha-D-ManpNAc-[1-->O-P(O)(O(-))-->6]-alpha-D-ManpNAc-(1-->O)-(CH(2))(2)NH(2)]. Two monosaccharide blocks were employed as key intermediates. The reducing-end mannose unit featured the NHAc group at C-2, and contained the aminoethyl spacer as the aglycon for the final bioconjugation. The interresidual phosphodiester linkages were fashioned from an anomerically positioned H-phosphonate group in a 2-azido-mannose building block. The spacer-linked saccharides 1-4 were N-acylated with hepta-4,6-dienoic acid and the resulting conjugated diene-equipped saccharides were subjected to Diels-Alder-type addition with maleimidobutyryl-group functionalized human serum albumin to form covalent conjugates containing up to 26 saccharide haptens per albumin molecule. Complete (1)H, (13)C, and (31)P NMR assignments for 1-4 are given. Antigenicity of the neoglycoconjugates containing 1-4 was demonstrated by a double immunodiffusion assay which indicated that a fragment as small as a monosaccharide is recognized by a polyclonal meningococcus group A antiserum and that the O-acetyl group(s) present in the natural capsular material is not essential for antigenicity. 相似文献
