Two methods of determining trace levels of platinum and gold in aqueous solutions with high concents of total dissolved solids were investigated. The first involves preconcentration and separation of the precious metals from the interfering matrix by solvent extraction, followed by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GFAAS) with Zeeman effect background correction. The direct determination of Pt and Au in solutions of high ionic strength by GFAAS is not desirable because of interference between elements in the matrix and the analyte, increased imprecision of analysis, greatly increased background absorbance leading to increased detection limits and rapid deterioration of the graphite tube. All the extraction methods for gold examined in this study resulted in decreased imprecision, increased sensitivity and lower background absorbance compared with direct measurements on the aqueous solution. All techniques also exhibited good recoveries (> 8%) and reproducibilities (relative standard deviation < 10%). The highest sensitivities for gold extraction from distilled water were obtained for dibutyl sulfide (DBS)—toluene and the lowest for cyanide—dibutyl ketone. The degree of extraction of Au was, however, dependent on the composition of the solution, indicating that standard and sample matrices should be closely matched even when employing solvent extraction. Solvent extraction was generally less successful for Pt. In order to obtain an acceptable imprecision in the Pt extractions, it was found that the use of SnCl2 as a labilizing agent is essential for most of the techniques investigated.The second method was direct measurement by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP—MS). ICP—MS offers the advantages of a very low detection limit (100 ng l?1 or better) without preconcentration and a large dynamic range. However, severe matrix effects can occur in concentrated solutions. Whereas high concentrations in solution of both sodium perchlorate and sodium chloride decrease the sensitivity, the presence of sulfide and natural organic (fulvic) acid increase the sensitivity for Pt and Au by a factor of up to 4. Sulfate, on the other hand, decreases the sensitivity of ICP-MS for Pt. The method of standard additions or isotope dilution is recommended for routine use to circumvent this problem, especially when the nature of the matrix is unknown or cannot be easily matched in the standards. 相似文献

Augmented nodal matrices play an important role in the analysis of different features of electrical circuit models. Their study can be addressed in an abstract setting involving two- and three-colour weighted digraphs. By means of a detailed characterization of the structure of proper and normal trees, we provide a unifying framework for the rank analysis of augmented matrices. This covers in particular Maxwell’s tree-based determinantal expansions of (non-augmented) nodal matrices, which can be considered as a one-colour version of our results. Via different colour assignments to circuit devices, we tackle the DC-solvability problem and the index characterization of certain differential-algebraic models which arise in the nodal analysis of electrical circuits, extending several known results of passive circuits to the non-passive context. 相似文献

Ringkøbing Fjord is a large and shallow brackish lagoon on the west coast of Denmark that has gone through two environmental regime shifts in recent decades. Different intervention strategies, including nutrient abatement and the construction of facilities to increase the water exchange between the lagoon and the outside sea, have been proposed to achieve good water quality in terms of trophic state and conditions for waterfowl. The selection of an intervention strategy is a complex decision-making problem in which several conflicting objectives, like costs of application and environmental or social impacts, must be taken into account simultaneously. We propose a PC-based decision support system, called the Generic Multi-Attribute Analysis system, to deal with such interdisciplinary analyses. It evaluates the intervention strategies by means of an additive multiattribute utility model accounting for imprecision of the various components of the analysis, such as intervention strategy performances and decision-makers’ preferences. Also, it implements what is known as decision making with partial information, through the application of Monte Carlo simulation techniques. This enables a straightforward analysis of the difference between an anthropocentrist and an ecocentrist view of the problem, from which a final recommendation can be reached. 相似文献

A manganese(II) complex with N,N′-bis(carboxymethyl)dithiooxamide (H4GLYDTO), [Mn(H2GLYDTO)(H2O)2]n, has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis and thermogravimetric analysis, as well as by infrared, electronic and EPR spectroscopy and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The crystal and molecular structure of this complex was determined by single-crystal X-ray structure analysis. The compound shows a 3D porous framework with alternate left- and right-handed helical channels where the manganese(II) ions have an octahedral environment.
