The electroreduction of CO2 into value-added products (e.g. CO) constitutes an excellent means of decreasing this greenhouse gas emissions, but limited efforts have been devoted to the implementation of this reaction within the so-called co-electrolysis cells operating at process-relevant currents >> 100 mA·cmgeom?2. Reaching such performances shall require a combination of gas-fed reactants and the corresponding diffusion electrodes, along with ion-exchange membranes and ionomers that set the operative pH at the cells' cathode and anode. The latter constitutes a key design parameter that must be combined with the need to minimize the crossover of reaction products and/or (bi)carbonate anions from the cathode to the anode, whereby their reoxidation to carbon dioxide leads to a decrease in the device's net CO2 consumption. 相似文献

In liquid-crystal elastomers, the simultaneous presence of rubber elasticity due to the crosslinked backbone chains and of optical birefringence due to the mesogens in the side chains lead to exceptional physical properties. An elastic deformation of the network influences the order of the mesogens and, therefore, the optical properties. A theory based on a Landau-de Gennes expansion of the free energy is proposed. In the opaque polydomain phase, the local orientation is given by a compromise between the external mechanical field and a local anchoring interaction. As the field is increased, it becomes energetically favorable for the mesogens to align parallel to the mechanical field, and a transition to a transparent monodomain structure occurs. The CDK4/6 inhibitor palbociclib, combined with endocrine therapy, has been shown to be effective in postmenopausal women with estrogen receptor-positive, HER2-negative advanced or metastatic breast cancer. However, palbociclib is not as effective in the highly aggressive, triple-negative breast cancer that lacks sensitivity to chemotherapy or endocrine therapy. We hypothesized that conjugation of the near-infrared dye MHI-148 with palbociclib can produce a potential theranostic in triple-negative, as well as estrogen receptor-positive, breast cancer cells. In our study, the conjugate was found to have enhanced activity in all mammalian cell lines tested in vitro. However, the conjugate was cytotoxic and did not induce G1 cell cycle arrest in breast cancer cells, suggesting its mechanism of action differs from the parent compound palbociclib. The study highlights the importance of investigating the mechanism of conjugates of near-infrared dyes to therapeutic compounds, as conjugation can potentially result in a change of mechanism or target, with an enhanced cytotoxic effect in this case. 相似文献

Fifteen N-butylpyridinium salts – five monometallic [C4Py]2[MBr4] and ten bimetallic [C4Py]2[M0.5aM0.5bBr4] (M=Co, Cu, Mn, Ni, Zn) – were synthesized, and their structures and thermal and electrochemical properties were studied. All the compounds are ionic liquids (ILs) with melting points between 64 and 101 °C. Powder and single-crystal X-ray diffraction show that all ILs are isostructural. The electrochemical stability windows of the ILs are between 2 and 3 V. The conductivities at room temperature are between 10−5 and 10−6 S cm−1. At elevated temperatures, the conductivities reach up to 10−4 S cm−1 at 70 °C. The structures and properties of the current bromide-based ILs were also compared with those of previous examples using chloride ligands, which illustrated differences and similarities between the two groups of ILs. 相似文献

A simple and rapid voltammetric method based on a disposable electrochemically pretreated screen‐printed carbon electrode is proposed for the determination of L ‐dopa. Under optimum differential pulse voltammetry conditions a limit of detection of 3.6×10?7 M for L ‐dopa was obtained. A collection of fungal isolates was obtained from a complex microbial mat, which occupied an iron-rich freshwater spring that feeds into Clear Creek, Golden, Colorado, USA. Two of the fungal isolates, a Glomeromycete (possibly Entrophospora sp.) and a Dothideomycete (possibly Phaeosphaeria sp.), were investigated for bioactive secondary metabolites. In total, six new compounds consisting of clearanols A-E (5, 6, 10-12) and disulochrin (7) were purified and their structures were determined. Disulochrin exhibited modest antibacterial activity against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, whereas clearanol C showed weak inhibitory activity against Candida albicans biofilm formation. 相似文献

A unique advanced intermediate: 3-Pentadecylcyclohexanone was synthetized from the crude product which contained a mixture of cardanol, cardol and 2-methylcardol, which was hydrogenated onto Pd/C at 80 °C. From this alkylated cyclohexanone: C15 alkylated adipic acid, caprolactam, caprolactone, were synthetized in high yields, such products may have many potentially applications in polymer chemistry. The condensation of the 3-pentadecyl-cyclohexanone and triethylene glycol in oxidative or reductive conditions gave aryl ether and cyclohexyl ether, this may be a way to prepare intermediate for surfactant chemistry. Therefore we show that Cashew Nut Shell Liquid (CNSL) may lead to numerous useful compounds thank to the preparation of a unique advanced intermediate. 相似文献
