In this paper, we introduce some integral transforms that map slice monogenic functions to monogenic functions. We then show that one of these integral transforms, which is based on the Cauchy formula of slice monogenic functions, is useful to define a functional calculus depending on a parameter for n‐tuples of bounded operators. The electrochemical treatment of cancer (EChT) consists in the passage of a direct electric current through two or more electrodes inserted locally in the tumor tissue. The extreme pH changes induced have been proposed as the main tumor destruction mechanism. Here, we study ion transport during EChT through a combined modeling methodology: in vivo modeling with BALB/c mice bearing a subcutaneous tumor, in vitro modeling with agar and collagen gels, and in silico modeling using the one-dimensional Nernst-Planck and Poisson equations for ion transport in a four-ion electrolyte. This combined modeling approach reveals that, under EChT modeling, an initial condition with almost neutral pH evolves between electrodes into extreme cathodic alkaline and anodic acidic fronts moving towards each other, leaving the possible existence of a biological pH region between them; towards the periphery, the pH decays to its neutral values. pH front tracking unveils a time scaling close to t(1/2), signature of a diffusion-controlled process. These results could have significant implications in EChT optimal operative conditions and dose planning, in particular, in the way in which the evolving EChT pH region covers the active cancer cells spherical casket.  相似文献

Control of contamination by Vibrio parahaemolyticus in fishery products is often hampered by the lack of standardized methods and by the uncertainty associated with biochemical identification of the isolates. In this study, 5 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) methods for the identification of V. parahaemolyticus to the species level were evaluated by using 25 Vibrio reference strains and 163 isolates from fishery products, environmental sources, and clinical samples. Sequence targets of the methods were toxR, gyrB, and tlh genes (tested with 2 protocols), and the fragment pR72H. Isolate identification was confirmed by sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene and by PCR protocols for the identification of other Vibrio species. The PCR assay targeting the toxR gene achieved the highest performance (100% inclusivity and exclusivity). The 2 PCR protocols based on tlh gene detection, although showing the same inclusivity (100%), differed in the exclusivity (50 and 91%, respectively). Finally, the results provided by the PCR assays targeting the gyrB gene and pR72H fragment were less reliable and, in some cases, difficult to assess. According to the results of this study, the characteristics of accuracy expressed by the toxR identification method make it a suitable candidate as a reference method for the molecular identification of V. parahaemolyticus strains.  相似文献

The phenyl propanoid fraction of Teucrium subspinosum Pourrette ex Willd. (Lamiaceae) from Baleari Island, was examined together with the same fraction of T. subspinosum from Sardinia. In T. subspinosum, besides verbascoside as main component, a new phenyl-propanoid-glycoside was isolated and identified by (1)H- and (13)C-NMR spectra analysis. Comparison with molecular composition of T. marum confirmed the differences between these species and evidenced their endemic character.  相似文献

We study a notion of link of Lie groups suggested by the structure of the partial differential operators of Kolmogorov type. As an application of our link procedure we construct explicit examples of stratified Lie groups, with dimension and step arbitrarily large. We also give a set of examples of hypoelliptic second-order operators which are left translation invariant and homogeneous of degree two on the previous groups.

In the few last years, nanosystems have emerged as a potential therapeutic approach to improve the efficacy and selectivity of many drugs. Cyclodextrins (CyDs) and their nanoparticles have been widely investigated as drug delivery systems. The covalent functionalization of CyD polymer nanoparticles with targeting molecules can improve the therapeutic potential of this family of nanosystems. In this study, we investigated cross-linked γ- and β-cyclodextrin polymers as carriers for doxorubicin (ox) and oxaliplatin (Oxa). We also functionalized γ-CyD polymer bearing COOH functionalities with arginine-glycine-aspartic or arginine moieties for targeting the integrin receptors of cancer cells. We tested the Dox and Oxa anti-proliferative activity in the presence of the precursor polymer with COOH functionalities and its derivatives in A549 (lung, carcinoma) and HepG2 (liver, carcinoma) cell lines. We found that CyD polymers can significantly improve the antiproliferative activity of Dox in HepG2 cell lines only, whereas the cytotoxic activity of Oxa resulted as enhanced in both cell lines. The peptide or amino acid functionalized CyD polymers, loaded with Dox, did not show any additional effect compared to the precursor polymer. Finally, studies of Dox uptake showed that the higher antiproliferative activity of complexes correlates with the higher accumulation of Dox inside the cells. The results show that CyD polymers could be used as carriers for repositioning classical anticancer drugs such as Dox or Oxa to increase their antitumor activity.  相似文献

Ramoplanin is a novel glycolipodepsipeptide antibiotic, currently undergoing clinical trials. This method describes the determination of ramoplanin by direct injection of human urine into a coupled-column liquid chromatographic system. An internal-surface reversed-phase column has been used for on-line sample clean-up and enrichment. Analytical separation of ramoplanin and MDL 62,456 used as internal standard, has been achieved on a ABZ+ reversed-phase column with ammonium acetate buffer-acetonitrile-methanol according to a gradient profile. Analytes were detected by their UV absorbance at 270 nm. The limit of quantitation was 0.1 microgram/ml urine and the limit of detection was found to be 0.035 microgram/ml, corresponding to 13.7 pmol/ml. Linearity was determined in the range 0.1-2 micrograms/ml. Precision (relative standard deviation) ranged from 0.71 to 8.75% and the accuracy from -9.9 to 11.6%. Different human sources were tested and no interference between analytes and urine constituents was observed. The method is simple and rapid, requiring a total analysis time of 35 min per sample and reaching greater selectivity and accuracy than microbiological assays.  相似文献

Organic molecular beam deposition is studied systematically at thermal and hyperthermal regimes aiming at investigating the role of molecular kinetic energy on the growth mechanism of pentacene submonolayers on SiO x /Si. We show that the kinetic energy of the impinging molecule (E k ) plays a crucial role in determining island structure and shape, distribution of island sizes, the crystalline quality of the first monolayer, and even the growth mode of subsequent layers. With increasing E k , the island structure changes from fractal to nonfractal, the shape becomes more anisotropic and the island size more uniform, pointing to correlated island growth. Moreover, while 3D island growth is observed for thermal organic molecular beam deposition, supersonic molecular beam deposition gives rise to layer-by-layer growth, at least for the first two layers. When E k ≥5.0 eV, the first monolayer is composed of large single crystalline domains which can extend over up to 10 μm, inferred from comparing atomic force micrographs of height and net transverse shear force. In these growth conditions both the high surface diffusivity and energy redistribution play a major role. We propose a mechanism where the energy dissipation occurring during the molecule–surface collision leads to the reorientation of whole islands during island coalescence, resulting in the elimination of grain boundaries.  相似文献
