The conductance of potassium iodide has been measured in the solvents ethylene carbonate, water, methyl ethyl ketone, and pairwise mixtures of these solvents at 40°C; and ethylene carbonate-water, tetramethylene sulfone-water, dimethyl sulfoxide-water, tetrahydrofuran-water, ethylene carbonate-tetramethylene sulfone-water, ethylene carbonate-tetramethylene sulfone, and tetrahydrofuran-dimethyl sulfoxide at 25°C. For dielectric constants greater than about 60, the pairing constants KA are in the range 0.3–2.0; no correlation between KA and solvent properties could be established. For lower dielectric constants, KA increases exponentially with decreasing dielectric constant. Addition of a proton, acceptor to water initially decreases KA regardless of whether the dielectric constant of the mixture is higher or lower than that of water, suggesting that ion pairs in water may be stabilized by cage structures. The Walden product Ao is also decreased by the addition of proton acceptors.  相似文献

A special hybrid quantum mechanics/molecular mechanics forcefield is defined, parameterized and validated for studying the photoisomerization path of the retinal chromophore in the rhodopsin protein. It couples a multireference ab initio Hamiltonian (CASSCF and second-order multireference many-body perturbation theory using a CASSCF reference) to describe the chromophore while the rest of the protein is approximated with the Amber forcefield. The frontier has been carefully parameterized in order to reproduce full quantum mechanics torsional energy profiles, for both the ground state and the first excited state. It is also shown that replacing the chromophore counterion with point charges is a valid approximation. This result is interpreted in terms of a cancellation effect for which a possible explanation is given.  相似文献

A 5 m x 50 microm capillary column with 0.05 microm stationary phase film thickness, with a calculated efficiency of almost 20,000 plates per metre (under optimum conditions), was used for very fasthigh resolution GC analysis of lime essential oil. The total analysis time of this volatile essential oil was less than 90 s. Fast GC is shown to be appropriate for essential oil quality assurance analysis, and quantitative results of key components are comparable with those obtained by using conventional GC analysis. The fast GC analysis is approximately 33 times faster than the conventional GC method.  相似文献

Summary The structure of the heterobinuclear complex of Cu2+ and [UO2]2+ with the tetraanionic ligand derived from the condensation of 1,2-diaminoethane witho-acetoacetylphenol has been determined from diffractometer data and refined to R = 5.2%. The crystals are monoclinic,P21/a, witha = 26.22(2),b = 14.79(2),c = 8.10(1) Å and = 104.65(5)°; Z = 4. The ligand employed has two different coordination sets of atoms, N2O2 and O2O2, two oxygen atoms being common to both donor sets. In the complex the copper atom, which is retained in the inner N2O2 chamber, is five coordinate being axially bonded to a solvent molecule, whilst the uranyl ion is incorporated in the outer O2O2 chamber. Another molecule of solvent is retained to preserve the preferred seven coordination of uranium.  相似文献

Cobalt and chromium release in patients undergone a metal-on-metal total hip replacement (THR) is a matter recently discussed and whose we do not have enough information about it yet. In literature there is little data and not completely indicative, in the biological fluids and organs the amounts of released metals are different. This is also due to the fact that cobalt and chromium blood levels can change depending on physical and working activity, individual feeding and metabolism. The results obtained confirm the presence of an increase of cobalt inthe blood of patients after total hip replacement, while the chromium levels are almost alike: average values in patients operated are 4.1 +/- 1.5 microg/L for cobalt (0.3 +/- 0.1 microg/L in the control group) and 4.5 +/- 2.9 microg/L for chromium (4.7 +/- 2.4 microg/L in the control group). In spite of the cobalt values stand below the concentration generally considered dangerous, the difference between the two examined groups points out that a risk exists for the health of these patients. These results must be confirmed by further studies, providing better information and more reliable and biocompatible materials.  相似文献

An algorithm for computing equilibrium concentrations by the “equilibrium constant” method is described. The main features of this algorithm are: (a) a damping procedure in conjunction with the Newton-Raphson technique that avoids divergence in dealing with very complicated (simultaneous presence of simple, mixed, protonated, polynuclear and hydroxypolynuclear species) and/or very large systems; (2) the use of devices to decrease core requirements, calculation time, and ill-conditioned problems; and (3) the calculation of errors in free and species concentrations from the uncertainties in analytical concentrations and in formation constants. Four systems are used for testing computer programs on calculation of equilibrium concentrations.  相似文献

A high-affinity ligand of cholera toxin, the divalent glycocalix[4]arene 1, was obtained by exploiting a combination of structure-based design of glycomimetic monovalent ligands and affinity enhancements by multivalent presentation through a calix[4]arene scaffold. Control over the interchromophore separation, their angular relationship, and the spatial overlap of their electronic clouds in several ZnP-C(60) dyads (ZnP=zinc porphyrin) is used to modulate the rates of intramolecular electron transfer. For the first time, a detailed analysis of the charge transfer absorption and emission spectra, time-dependent spectroscopic measurements, and molecular dynamics simulations prove quantitatively that the same two moieties can produce widely different electron-transfer regimes. This investigation also shows that the combination of ZnP and C(60) consistently produces charge recombination in the inverted Marcus region, with reorganization energies that are remarkably low, regardless of the solvent polarity. The time constants of electron transfer range from the mus to the ps regime, the electronic couplings from a few tens to several hundreds of cm(-1), and the reorganization energies remain below 0.54 eV and can be as low as 0.16 eV.  相似文献

[structure: see text]. The synthesis and nonlinear optical characterization of two novel heteroaromatic-based chromophores is described. The new dyes present an A-pi-D-pi-A general framework, where A is a pi-deficient heteroaromatic ring (pyridine, quinoline, benzothiazole) and D a pi-excessive pyrrolyl moiety. Both systems exhibit large two-photon absorption (TPA) values in the femtoseconds regime (TPA cross section as high as 150 x 10(-50) cm(4) s photon(-1) molecule(-1) with 150 fs laser pulses). The carbonaceous component in the Milan urban particulate matter, i.e. the two components black carbon (BC) and organic carbon (OC), has been measured by means of a thermogravimetric analyzer combined with an infrared spectrophotometer (TGA/FT-IR). While black carbon may be considered a primary pollutant, organic carbon includes both primary emissions and secondary organic aerosols. Since carbonaceous aerosol (including a small quantity of inorganic carbon, too) makes up roughly from 25% to 50% of the average annual PM 2.5 mass concentration, a deeper understanding of this component is required. The TGA/FT-IR technique, employed for the first time to our knowledge for the quantification of the particulate matter carbonaceous component, allows, thought the results here presented are preliminary, to assess the two components BC and OC in a simple way especially if compared with the methods reported in the literature. The total carbon (TC) determinations performed by TGA/FT-IR on Milan urban particulate matter are in good agreement with the results obtained by a total organic carbon (TOC) analyzer operating directly on the solid sample.  相似文献
