A low drive-voltage optical modulator using a Ti-diffused UNbO3 optical waveguide has been fabricated. Stabilization against ambient temperature change was realized by using a miniature halfwave plate. The halfwave voltage, 3 dB bandwidth, optical insertion loss and extinction ratio were 3·8 V (at 1·06m wavelength), 850 MHz, 10 dB and 13 dB, respectively. A reduction scheme for the optical absorption caused by metallic electrodes, and an analysis of the modulator high frequency response are also reported.  相似文献

The elastic moduli and Debye temperatures of LiAl, LiIn, LiZn, NaIn and NaTl (NaTl type: space group Fd3m) have been determined at room temperature by an ultrasonic pulse transmission technique. The trend between the isotropic bulk modulus (B) and the volume per atom pair (Mρ) shows that the simple coulombic form of ion-ion interaction is not applicable to the NaTl type structure, while the semiconductor like diamond- or ZnS-, and ionic CsCl-type crystals have contributions from a coulombic attractive force. The bonding character of the NaTl structure is also discussed.  相似文献

Let X and Y be Banach spaces and ψ a continuous convex function on the unit interval [0,1] satisfying certain conditions. Let XψY be the direct sum of X and Y equipped with the associated norm with ψ. We show that XψY is uniformly convex if and only if X,Y are uniformly convex and ψ is strictly convex. As a corollary we obtain that the ?p,q-direct sum (not p=q=1 nor ∞), is uniformly convex if and only if X,Y are, where ?p,q is the Lorentz sequence space. The cw dye laser excitation spectrum of the vibronic transition of the HSO radical was observed between 16 420 and 16 520 cm−1 with Doppler-limited resolution, 0.03 cm−1. The HSO radical was produced by reaction of discharged oxygen with H2S or CH3SH. The observed spectra were assigned to 751 transitions of the KaKa = 2 ← 3, 1 ← 2, 0 ← 1, 1 ← 0, 2 ← 1, and 3 ← 2 subbands, and were analyzed to determine rotational constants, centrifugal distortion constants, and spin-rotation interaction constants with good precision. The signs of the spin-rotation interaction constants were determined for both the upper and the lower state from the observed spectra. The band origin obtained is 16 483.0252 (2.5σ = 0.0013) cm−1. The molecular constants which were determined reproduce the observed transitions with an average deviation of 0.0045 cm−1.  相似文献

Raman spectra of thiourea have been observed in H2O and D2O solutions with the exciting laser beams of 514.5, 488.0, 457.9, 363.8, 325.0, and 257.3 nm. The resonance Raman excitation profile of the 729-cm?1 line has been examined in the region of the 237-nm absorption band (πCS1 ← πCS) by use of a solvent shift of the absorption band instead of by changing the wavelength of the exciting beam. The depolarization degree of this line was measured and its overtone Raman line was also observed. On the basis of the results of these experiments, it has been concluded that the 729-cm?1 Raman line, assignable to the CS stretching vibration, derives its intensity solely from the 237-nm band when it is excited at 257.3 or 325.0 nm. On exciting in the region 363.8–514.5 nm, however, contributions of the higher-frequency bands are predominant rather than the contribution from the 237-nm band. The Raman line at 1520 cm?1 of thiourea-d4 is assignable to the NCN antisymmetric stretching vibration. From its excitation profile, its intensity has been considered to come from a vibronic coupling between the excited electronic states of the 220-nm (πCS1 ← πN ? πN) and the 197-nm (πCS1 ← πN + πN) bands.  相似文献

In this paper we study higher Chow groups of smooth, projective surfaces over a field k of characteristic zero, using some new Hodge theoretic methods which we develop for this purpose. In particular we investigate the subgroup of CH r+1 (X,r) with r = 1,2 consisting of cycles that are supported over a normal crossing divisor Z on X. In this case, the Hodge theory of the complement forms an interesting variation of mixed Hodge structures in any geometric deformation of the situation. Our main result is a structure theorem in the case where X is a very general hypersurface of degree d in projective 3-space for d sufficiently large and Z is a union of very general hypersurface sections of X. In this case we show that the subgroup of CH r+1 (X,r) we consider is generated by obvious cycles only arising from rational functions on X with poles along Z. This can be seen as a generalization of the Noether–Lefschetz theorem for r = 0. In the case r = 1 there is a similar generalization by Müller-Stach, but our result is more precise than it, since it is geometric and not only cohomological. The case r = 2 is entirely new and original in this paper. For small d, we construct some explicit examples for r = 1 and 2 where the corresponding higher Chow groups are indecomposable, i.e. not the image of certain products of lower order groups. In an appendix Alberto Collino constructs even more indecomposable examples in CH 3 (X,2) which move in a one-dimensional family on the surface X.Contribution to appendix.  相似文献

Spontaneous luminescence due to high density electron-hole plasma in GaAs is observed at 4.2 K under nano- and pico-second pulse excitation. From the pico-second time-resolved spectra, it is found that the hot carriers are cooled down rapidly within 150 psec, and the changes of spectra are not appreciable in the later stage. One may consider, together with results of the spectral shape analysis, that the electron-hole liquid formation is improbable at least within the time range observed.  相似文献

Experimental results of lower hybrid heating in a small tokamak are described. When rf power is applied, a high energy tail of ions is produced, whether or not there is a lower hybrid resonance layer (LHR layer) in the plasma column, though bulk ion heating is not observed. The electron temperature in the plasma surface increases, while the electrons in the center lose their energy, which is related to an impurity ion flux diffusing from the outside of the plasma.  相似文献
