The pressure modulation of a weak shock wave induced by a Nd:YAG laser pulse when passing across a turbulent slit jet was
experimentally investigated. With the slit jet the peak overpressure became smaller by an average of 12%, with a standard
deviation of 27%. Clear relationships were obtained between the overpressure history and the experimentally observed shock
front deformation, which was visualized as differential schlieren images. The peak overpressure was increased when the originally

As an analytical application for pyrochemical reprocessing using molten salts, quantitative analysis of uranium and lanthanides by UV/Vis/NIR absorption spectrophotometry was performed. Electronic absorption spectra of LiCl–KCl eutectic at 773 K including trivalent uranium and eight rare earth elements (Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, and Gd as fission product elements) were measured in the wavenumber region of 4,500–33,000 cm?1. The composition of the solutes was simulated for a reductive extraction condition in a pyroreprocessing process for spent nuclear fuels, that is, about 2 wt% U and 0.1–2 wt% rare earth elements. Since U(III) possesses strong absorption bands due to f–d transitions, an optical quartz cell with short light path length of 1 mm was adopted in the analysis. The quantitative analysis of trivalent U, Nd, Pr, and Sm was possible with their f–f transition intensities in the NIR region. The 2′-O-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)ethyl modifications exhibited intriguing properties such as the change in the structure of the tetrazole residue between a protonated and a deprotonated form. The Tm experiments of various oligodeoxynucleotides having a 2′-O-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)ethyl-modified adenosine showed reduced hybridization affinity in comparison to the unmodified oligonucleotides toward their complementary oligodeoxynucleotides. The mechanism of the reduced hybridization affinity was discussed on the basis of the structure and the physicochemical properties of the tetrazole moiety. 相似文献

Reflection high-energy electron diffraction (RHEED), reflectance difference spectroscopy (RDS), and scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) have been used to study the anisotropic kinetics on the growing Ge(0 0 1) surface. While switching of dimer direction in alternate (2 × 1)/(1 × 2) layers causes the bilayer-period oscillations in RD response, RHEED oscillations are governed by variations in surface step densities. We show that the RHEED oscillations are strongly affected by the growth front morphology: when the growth front becomes distributed over several layers, the transition from bilayer- to monolayer-period occurs in RHEED oscillations. 相似文献

For accurate quantification of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in dust samples, we investigated the use of microwave-assisted solvent extraction (MAE) combined with isotope-dilution mass spectrometry (IDMS) using deuterium-labelled PAHs (D-PAHs). Although MAE with a methanol/toluene mixture (1:3 by volume) at 160 °C for 40 min was best for extracting PAHs from tunnel dust among examined, the recovery yields of D-PAHs decreased with increasing molecular weight (<40% for MW ≥ 264; that of deuterium-labelled indeno[123-cd]pyrene (D-IcdP) was only 7.1%). Although the residues were extracted a second time, the observed concentrations did not change dramatically (<5%), and the recovery yields of heavier D-PAHs (i.e., MW ≥ 264) were approximately half of those of the first extract, including D-IcdP (3.4%). These results suggest that both partitioning and isotopic equilibria of PAHs and D-PAHs between sample and solvent were achieved for extractable heavier PAHs under the condition. Thus, the observed concentrations of PAHs obtained by MAE–IDMS were reasonable, even though recovery yields of D-PAHs were <50%. From the results of carbon analyses and extractable contents, lower recovery yields of D-PAHs from the tunnel dust were due to a large content of char with low extractable contents. 相似文献

The Tower of Hanoi game is a classical puzzle in recreational mathematics (Lucas 1883) which also has a strong record in pure mathematics. In a borderland between these two areas we find the characterization of the minimal number of moves, which is \(2^n-1\), to transfer a tower of n disks. But there are also other variations to the game, involving for example real number weights on the moves of the disks. This gives rise to a similar type of problem, but where the final score seeks to be optimized. We study extensions of the one-player setting to two players, invoking classical winning conditions in combinatorial game theory such as the player who moves last wins, or the highest score wins. We numerically study a stable multiple-pulse operation of passively modelocked stretched pulse fiber ring laser. The simulation results show that multiple pulses are formed with being triggered by radiation from a single pulse in a restricted parameter range.
