The "metallic" characteristics of high density holes in GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructures are attributed to inelastic scattering between the two split heavy hole bands. Landau fan diagrams and weak field magnetoresistance are employed to measure the interband scattering rate. The inelastic rate is found to depend on temperature with an activation energy similar to that characterizing the longitudinal resistance. It is argued that acoustic plasmon mediated Coulomb scattering might be responsible for the Arrhenius dependence on temperature. The absence of standard Coulomb scattering characterized by a power-law dependence upon temperature is pointed out.  相似文献

A new ternary iron(III) complex [FeL(dpq)] containing dipyridoquinoxaline (dpq) and 2,2-bis(3,5-di-tert-butyl-2-hydroxybenzyl)aminoacetic acid (H3L) is prepared and structurally characterized by X-ray crystallography. The high-spin complex with a FeN3O3 core shows a quasi-reversible iron(III)/iron(II) redox couple at -0.62 V (vs SCE) in DMF/0.1 M TBAP and a broad visible band at 470 nm in DMF/Tris buffer. Laser photoexcitation of this phenolate (L)-to-iron(III) charge-transfer band at visible wavelengths including red light of >or=630 nm leads to cleavage of supercoiled pUC19 DNA to its nicked circular form via a photoredox pathway forming hydroxyl radicals.  相似文献

Oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is of critical significance in the advancement of fuel cells and zinc-air batteries. The iron-nitrogen (Fe−Nx) sites exhibited exceptional reactivity towards ORR. However, the task of designing and controlling the local structure of Fe species for high ORR activity and stability remains a challenge. Herein, we have achieved successful immobilization of Fe species onto the highly curved surface of S, N co-doped carbonaceous nanosprings (denoted as FeNS/Fe3C@CNS). The induction of this twisted configuration within FeNS/Fe3C@CNS arose from the assembly of chiral templates. For electrocatalytic ORR tests, FeNS/Fe3C@CNS exhibits a half-wave potential (E1/2) of 0.91 V in alkaline medium and a E1/2 of 0.78 V in acidic medium. The Fe single atoms and Fe3C nanoparticles are coexistent and play as active centers within FeNS/Fe3C@CNS. The highly curved surface, coupled with S substitution in the coordination layer, served to reduce the energy barrier for ORR, thereby enhancing the intrinsic catalytic activity of the Fe single-atom sites. We also assembled a wearable flexible Zn-air battery using FeNS/Fe3C@CNS as electrocatalysts. This work provides new insights into the construction of highly curved surfaces within carbon materials, offering high electrocatalytic efficacy and remarkable performance for flexible energy conversion devices.  相似文献

Unprecedented 1D helical chains of hydrogen bonded water molecules, showing both handedness and anchored onto a helical supramolecular host formed from the self assembly of a dicopper(II) complex (1) containing pentadentate Schiff base (L) and p-hydroxycinnamate in 1.2H(2)O, propagate along the crystallographic 2(1)-screw axis and the compound shows two endotherms due to loss of water molecules at 61.5 and 88.5 degrees C in the differential scanning calorimetry giving an overall change of enthalpy value of approximately 36 kJ mol(-1) per water molecule.  相似文献

Ternary copper(II) complexes [Cu(py2phe)B](ClO4)2 (1-3), where py2phe is a tripodal ligand N,N-bis[2-(2-pyridyl)ethyl]-2-phenylethylamine and B is a heterocyclic base (viz., 1,10-phenanthroline (phen, 1), dipyrido[3,2-d:2',3'-f]quinoxaline (dpq, 2), or dipyrido[3,2-a:2',3'-c]phenazine (dppz, 3)), are prepared and their DNA-binding and photoinduced DNA-cleavage activities are studied. Complex 1 has been structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray crystallography. The molecular structure shows an axially elongated square-pyramidal (4 + 1) coordination geometry in which the phen ligand binds at the basal plane. The tripodal ligand py2phe displays an axial-equatorial binding mode with the amine nitrogen bonded at the axial site. A chemically significant CH-pi interaction involving the CH moiety of the phenyl group of the tripodal ligand and the aromatic ring of phen is observed. The complexes display good binding propensity to calf thymus DNA giving a relative order of 3 (dppz) > 2 (dpq) > 1 (phen). The DNA binding constants (K(b)) for 1-3, determined from absorption spectral studies, are 6.2 x 10(3), 1.0 x 10(4), and 5.7 x 10(4) M(-1), respectively. The complexes show chemical nuclease activity in the presence of 3-mercaptopropionic acid as a reducing agent forming hydroxyl radicals as the cleavage active species. The photoinduced DNA-cleavage activity of the complexes has been studied using UV radiation of 365 nm and red light of 632.8 and 694 nm. The phen complex in absence of any photosensitizing moiety does not show any DNA cleavage upon photoirradiation. The dpq and dppz ligands with their photoactive quinoxaline and phenazine moieties display significant photoinduced DNA-cleavage activity. The dppz complex is more active than its dpq analogue because of the better steric protection of the DNA-bound photosensitizing dppz ligand from the solvent molecules. Control experiments reveal the formation of singlet oxygen in the light-induced DNA-cleavage reactions. The observed efficient photoinduced DNA-cleavage activity of 2 and 3 is akin to the "light switch" effect known for the tris-chelates of ruthenium(II).  相似文献

The conditional covering problem (CCP) aims to locate facilities on a graph, where the vertex set represents both the demand points and the potential facility locations. The problem has a constraint that each vertex can cover only those vertices that lie within its covering radius and no vertex can cover itself. The objective of the problem is to find a set that minimizes the sum of the facility costs required to cover all the demand points. An algorithm for CCP on paths was presented by Horne and Smith (Networks 46(4):177–185, 2005). We show that their algorithm is wrong and further present a correct O(n 3) algorithm for the same. We also propose an O(n 2) algorithm for the CCP on paths when all vertices are assigned unit costs and further extend this algorithm to interval graphs without an increase in time complexity.  相似文献

We describe a randomized Krylov‐subspace method for estimating the spectral condition number of a real matrix A or indicating that it is numerically rank deficient. The main difficulty in estimating the condition number is the estimation of the smallest singular value σ min of A. Our method estimates this value by solving a consistent linear least squares problem with a known solution using a specific Krylov‐subspace method called LSQR. In this method, the forward error tends to concentrate in the direction of a right singular vector corresponding to σ min . Extensive experiments show that the method is able to estimate well the condition number of a wide array of matrices. It can sometimes estimate the condition number when running dense singular value decomposition would be impractical due to the computational cost or the memory requirements. The method uses very little memory (it inherits this property from LSQR), and it works equally well on square and rectangular matrices.  相似文献

Coir-fiber-based fire retardant nano filler has been developed for epoxy resin (ER). At first, the coir fiber was brominated with saturated bromine water and then treated with stannous chloride solution. After drying, it was grinded to nano dimension and mix well with ER for composites preparations. FTIR, DSC, and TG techniques were used to characterize the brominated coir fiber. Gravimetric analysis shows only 10% by mass of bromination on coir fiber. Bromination decreases the thermal stability of the coir fiber, but it does not affect the final stability of the composites. This study concentrates on the thermal, fire retardant, and morphological properties of nanocomposites prepared by direct mixing. The fire retardancy properties (smoke density and limiting oxygen index) of coir–epoxy nanocomposites have increased significantly.  相似文献

The influence of oxygen partial pressure during the deposition of piezoelectric strontium-doped lead zirconate titanate thin films is reported. The thin films have been deposited by RF magnetron sputtering in an atmosphere of high purity argon and oxygen (in the ratio of 9:1), on platinum-coated silicon substrates (heated to 650 degrees C). The influence of oxygen partial pressure is studied to understand the manner in which the stoichiometry of the thin films is modified, and to understand the influence of stoichiometry on the perovskite orientation. This article reports on the results obtained from films deposited at oxygen partial pressures of 1-5 mTorr. The thin films have been studied using a combination of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), glancing angle X-ray diffraction (GA-XRD), and atomic force microscopy (AFM). XPS analysis highlights the marked influence of variations in oxygen pressure during sputtering, observed by variations in oxygen concentration in the thin films, and in some cases by the undesirable decrease in lead concentration in the thin films. GA-XRD is used to study the relative variations in perovskite peak intensities, and has been used to determine the deposition conditions to attain the optimal combination of stoichiometry and orientation. AFM scans show the marked influence of the oxygen partial pressure on the film morphology.  相似文献
