Nitrogen-substituted titanium dioxide thin films were found to undergo hydrophilic conversion under irradiation with visible light. The hydrophilicity was enhanced by increasing the degree of nitrogen substitution at oxygen sites. The water contact angle for the thin film with the greatest hydrophilicity, TiO1.9884N0.0116, changed from 20 degrees to 6 degrees following irradiation.  相似文献

We present numerical results for in‐line and cross‐flow vibrations of a circular cylinder, which is immersed in a uniform flow and is elastically supported by damper‐spring systems to compute vibrations of a rigid cylinder. In the case of a circular cylinder with a low Scruton number, it is well‐known that two types of self‐excited vibrations appear in the in‐line direction in the range of low reduced velocities. On the other hand, a cross‐flow vibration of the circular cylinder can be excited in the range of high reduced velocities. Therefore, we compute the flow‐induced vibrations of the circular cylinder in the wide range of the reduced velocities at low and high Scruton numbers and discuss about excitation mechanisms in the in‐line and cross‐flow directions. The surface grafting of hyperbranched cyclotriphosphazene polymer onto silica nanoparticles and carbon black was investigated. The grafting of hyperbranched cyclotriphosphazene polymer onto these surfaces was achieved by the repeated reactions of hexachlorocyclotriphosphazene with hexamethylenediamine from surface amino groups and sodium carboxylate groups, respectively. The percentage of grafting onto silica and carbon black surfaces exceeded 760 and 390%, respectively. However, it proved difficult to achieve the theoretical growth of cyclotriphosphazene polymer from these surfaces because of steric hindrance. The introduction of sulfonic acid groups was successfully achieved by the reaction of terminal chlorophosphazene groups of the hyperbranched polymer‐grafted silica and carbon black with sulfanilic acid. The content of sulfonic acid groups introduced onto silica and carbon black surfaces was 4.98 mmol/g and 5.70 mmol/g, respectively. The sulfonated cyclotriphosphazene polymer‐grafted carbon black was extremely hydrophilic, yielding stable colloidal dispersions in polar solvents. The sulfonated cyclotriphosphazene polymer‐grafted silica and carbon black showed ionic conductivity, with the conductance increasing exponentially with increasing relative humidity and temperature. This study may offer important leads in the application of silica nanoparticles and carbon black in polymeric membranes for fuel cells. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. For the evaluation of two-dimensional carrier profiles in semiconductor devices, we have developed a novel form of probe–sensor combined unit that uses an etched tungsten wire as a conductive probe, and commercially available quartz tuning fork as the force sensor. This unit has a self-sensing capability due to the piezoelectric effect of quartz tuning fork, thus obviating optical setup, and its conductivity is higher and more stable than that of conventional metal-coated Si cantilever. In addition, this probe–sensor combined unit is inexpensive and easy to use, when compared to the well-known optical methods of Si-based cantilever vibration detection system. Our scanning probe microscope using this probe–sensor combined unit is able to mapping the capacitive gradient signal (dC/dZ image) and internal damping of quartz tuning fork oscillation (dissipation image) while scanning the sample surface. In this letter, we show the results of visualization of the p–n junction locus of a Si metal–oxide–semiconductor field effect transistor in both dC/dZ and dissipation images.  相似文献
