The electronic absorption spectra of some 2-styryl-4-phenyl-thiazole ethiodides are studied in organic solvents of different polarities. The shorter wavelength band appearing in the visible region is assigned to an intramolecular charge transfer (CT)-transition originating from the phenyl moiety to the positively charged hetero ring, while the longer wavelength one is due to an intermolecular CT-transition from the iodide ion to the 2-styryl-4-phenyl-thiazolinium cation. These assignments are based on the nature of the aldehydic residue and effects of solvent, concentration, and temperature on both the position and absorptivity of the CT complex-band. It is concluded that the CT complex formed will be highly solvated inDMF, DMSO, ethanol and methanol relative to in CHCl3, dioxane and acetone. The formation constant of the CT complex in solutions of different polarities is determined at different temperatures. Furthermore, the thermodynamic parameters H o, G o and S o for complex formation are calculated and discussed.

Zusammenfassung Die Elektronenanregungsspektren einiger substituierter 2-Styryl-4-phenyl-thiazol-ethiodide wurden in einigen Lösungsmitteln unterschiedlicher Polarität untersucht. Die Absorption bei kürzerer Wellenlänge wird einem intramolekularen Charge-Transfer (CT)-Übergang zugeordnet, die langwellige Bande einem intermolekularen CT-Übergang (Jodid—organ. Kation). Die Diskussion erfolgt basierend auf Substitutions-, Lösungsmittel-, Konzentrations-, und Temperatur-Effekten. Die Komplexbildungskonstanten und die thermodynamischen Parameter H o, G o und S o werden angegeben.

Comparisons between the second row carbon and its third row silicon analogue as unshared electron pair contributors are considered. Sodium bisulfite–soda lime glass has proved to be a good initiator for polymerization and graft polymerization onto cellulose of some vinyl monomers. A scheme dealing with the mechanism of initiation has been proposed assuming trapping of the bisulfite radical inside the glass frame-work to form a so-called sulfur-impregnated solid. Such a solid has paramagnetic properties and acts on the vinyl monomers and cellulose as any free-radical-producing source thus leading to polymerization and graft polymerization onto cellulose. Other radicals containing sulfur, such as sulfite, sulfate, and persulfate failed to give such property with soda lime glass. With the sodium bisulfite–soda lime glass system the reactivity decreases in the order methyl methacrylate > ethyl acrylate > acrylonitrile which is inconsistent with the arrangement of acceptor monomers with decreasing electron-donating ability. This may reflect interference of the addition reaction which may take place between the monomer and bisulfite and the rate of which may depend on the activation energy of the monomer.  相似文献

A flow-injection procedure is described for the determination of carbaryl based on its inhibition effect on luminol-cobalt(II) chemiluminescence reaction in alkaline medium in the presence of hydrogen peroxide. The calibration data over the range 5.0?×?10?7 to 20?×?10?6?M give a correlation coefficient (r 2) of 0.9972 with relative standard deviations (RSD; n?=?4) in the range of 1.0–2.1% with a limit of detection (3?×?blank noise) of 2.37?×?10?7?M for carbaryl. The sample throughput was 120?h?1. The effects of some carbamates, anions, and cations were studied on luminol CL system for carbaryl determination. Abstract

The reaction of methane- and ethanesulfonyl chloride with selected diarylcadmium compounds was investigated. In contrast with arenesulfonyl chlorides which react with diarylcadmium to give sulfones in appreciable yields, ethanesulfonyl chloride did not yield sulfones. Methane-sulfonyl chloride gave sulfones in very poor yields. The major products were haloarenes, alkane-sulfinic acids and biaryls.

Cross-over experiments revealed that the formation of biaryls involve an inter-not intra-molecular reaction (cf. eq. 4).  相似文献

In this study, diallyldimethylammonium chloride (DADMAC), a quaternary ammonium salt monomer, is graft polymerized on 50?C50 Nylon-Cotton (NyCo) standard military fabric using atmospheric pressure glow discharge plasma to impart self-detoxification capability. Atmospheric pressure plasma?is used to induce free radical chain polymerization of the DADMAC monomer to introduce a graft polymerized network on the fabric with durable antimicrobial properties. Pentaerythritol tetraacrylate (PETA) is used as a cross-linking agent to obtain a highly cross-linked, durable polymer network. The presence of polyDADMAC on the fabric surface is confirmed using acid dye staining, SEM, and TOF?CSIMS. Antibacterial performance is investigated using standard AATCC Test Method 100 for both gram positive and gram negative bacteria. Results show 99.9?% reduction in the bacterial activities of Klebsiella pneumoniae and Staphylococcus aureus.  相似文献

A solvent-free, eco-friendly and facile approach for the synthesis of highly functionalized tetrasubstituted pyrroles has been reported through one-pot four-component reaction of aldehyde, amine, nitroalkane and 1,3-diketone using silica gel supported polyphosphoric acid (PPA–SiO2) under microwave condition. The reaction occured through the in situ formation of β-keto enamine and nitrostyrene analog following Michael addition and finally intramolecular annulation affording the products in good yields. The key features of the present method include clean reaction, mild conditions, low catalyst loading, straightforward, high to excellent yields, short reaction time, avoiding use of harmful metal catalyst and organic solvent, environmentally friendly compared to the existing methods, recovery and reusability of catalyst and easy workup procedure.  相似文献
