The dependence of 14N quadrupole coupling constants calculated using coupled cluster theory on the level of approximation is examined for a series of small molecules. For HCN, HNC, CH3CN, and CH3NC, we use the coupled cluster singles‐and‐doubles with a noniterative perturbative triples correction—CCSD(T)—approach, and we analyze the basis set dependence of the results. For aziridine, diazirine, and cyclopropyl cyanide, we use the CCSD(T) approach, but smaller basis sets, and for the largest studied molecules—quinuclidine and hexamine—we present CCSD results. The differences between computed and experimental values for the best basis sets used are ≈ 5% at the CCSD level and decrease noticeably at the CCSD(T) level. The ‐ N≡C bonds are an exception—in this case the quadrupole coupling constants are very small, hence the differences between theory and experiment become larger (up to 9%). We also consider the performance of density functional theory, comparing the results for different density functionals with the coupled cluster values of the same constants. Most of the functionals provide results systematically improved with respect to the Hartree–Fock values, with 14N coupling constants in ‐ N≡C bonds being again an exception. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We report the partitioning of the interaction-induced static electronic dipole (hyper)polarizabilities for linear hydrogen cyanide complexes into contributions arising from various interaction energy terms. We analyzed the nonadditivities of the studied properties and used these data to predict the electric properties of an infinite chain. The interaction-induced static electric dipole properties and their nonadditivities were analyzed using an approach based on numerical differentiation of the interaction energy components estimated in an external electric field. These were obtained using the hybrid variational-perturbational interaction energy decomposition scheme, augmented with coupled-cluster calculations, with singles, doubles, and noniterative triples. Our results indicate that the interaction-induced dipole moments and polarizabilities are primarily electrostatic in nature; however, the composition of the interaction hyperpolarizabilities is much more complex. The overlap effects substantially quench the contributions due to electrostatic interactions, and therefore, the major components are due to the induction and exchange-induction terms, as well as the intramolecular electron-correlation corrections. A particularly intriguing observation is that the interaction first hyperpolarizability in the studied systems not only is much larger than the corresponding sum of monomer properties, but also has the opposite sign. We show that this effect can be viewed as a direct consequence of hydrogen-bonding interactions that lead to a decrease of the hyperpolarizability of the proton acceptor and an increase of the hyperpolarizability of the proton donor. In the case of the first hyperpolarizability, we also observed the largest nonadditivity of interaction properties (nearly 17%) which further enhances the effects of pairwise interactions. 相似文献

The present paper gives new insight into the problem of controlling the morphology of reduced graphene oxide/alumina (RGO/Al2O3) nanocomposites. The dry and simplified sol–gel methods of RGO/Al2O3 nanocomposite synthesis were compared and the influence of six key synthesis parameters on the morphology of the resulting nanocomposite powders was investigated to optimize the morphology of RGO/Al2O3 nanocomposites in terms of reducing the undesired agglomeration of RGO/Al2O3 nanocomposite flakes to a significant minority and obtaining the uniform coverage of RGO surface with Al2O3 nanoparticles. Our investigations indicate that, despite the high excess of Al2O3 used (95 wt%), the lowest RGO/Al2O3 flake agglomeration and the formation of a uniform layer composed of Al2O3 nanoparticles with the average size of 58 nm occurred only when 5 wt% of graphene oxide was used as a substrate for the deposition of Al2O3 nanoparticles together with triethyl aluminium as an Al2O3 precursor and dry hexane as the reaction environment. The resulting organic precursor was thermally decomposed at 280 °C for 3 h in air atmosphere (R4 reaction pathway). This was confirmed by the high BET-specific surface area (242.4 m2/g) and the high open porosity (0.7 cm3/g) of the obtained RGO(5 wt%)/Al2O3 nanocomposite. This is also the first study with a detailed discussion of the reactions expected to occur during the synthesis of an RGO/Al2O3 nanocomposite. 相似文献

Detection and Characterization of Compounds in the Mn‐W‐Cl System through a Combined Thermal Scanning ‐ XRD Approach 下载免费PDF全文
A procedure combining thermal analyses and XRD powder diffraction is used to scan and detect a series of new compounds in the Mn‐W‐Cl system. Four new ternary Mn‐W‐Cl compounds are formed in a progressive reaction of tungsten hexachloride (WCl6) with manganese powder, in which tungsten is gradually reduced from W6+ to W2+. Among several DSC signals, the new compounds MnxWCl6, MnW2Cl10, (Mn, W)1–xCl2, and MnW6Cl14 are detected and their crystal structures are assigned or identified by X‐ray diffraction techniques. Ni/Al2O3 catalysts for oxidative dehydrogenation(ODH) of ethane were prepared by impregnation of Al2O3 with nickel acetate or nickel nitrate,and by mechanical mixing of NiO and Al2O3.The Ni-based catalysts were characterized by N2 adsorption-desorption,X-ray diffraction,diffuse reflectance UV-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy,and temperature-programmed reduction of hydrogen.The results showed that formation of crystalline NiO particles with a size of < 8 nm and/or non-stoichiometric NiO species in the Ni/Al2O3 catalysts led to more active species in ODH of ethane under the investigated reaction conditions.In contrast,tetrahedral Ni species present in the catalysts led to higher selectivity for ethene.Formation of large crystalline NiO particles(22-32 nm) over Ni/Al2O3 catalysts decreased the selectivity for ethene. 相似文献
