We have deposited relatively thick (∼60 nm) Ge layers on Br-passivated Si(111) substrates by thermal evaporation under high vacuum conditions at room temperature. Ge has grown in a layer-plus-island mode although it is different from the Stranski-Krastanov growth mode observed in epitaxial growth. Both the islands and the layer are nanocrystalline. This appears to be a consequence of reduction of surface free energy of the Si(111) substrate by Br-passivation. The size distribution of the Ge nanoislands has been determined. The Br-Si(111) substrates were prepared by a liquid treatment, which may not produce exactly reproducible surfaces. Nevertheless, some basic features of the nanostructural island growth are reasonably reproducible, while there are variations in the details of the island size distribution.  相似文献

We have investigated the superconducting properties of the Bi1.7 Pb0.3Sr2Ca2−xCe x Cu3O10+δ system with x=0.00, 0.02, 0.04, 0.08 and 0.1 by X-ray diffraction and magnetic susceptibility. The substitution of Ce for Ca has been found to drastically change the superconducting properties of the system. X-ray diffraction studies on these compounds indicate decrease in the c-parameter with increased substitution of Ce at Ca site and volume fraction of high T c (2 : 2 : 2 : 3) phase decreases and low T c phase increases. The magnetic susceptibility of this compound shows that the diamagnetic on set superconducting transition temperature (onset) varies from 109 K to 51 K for x=0.00, 0.02, 0.04, 0.08 and 0.1. These results suggest the possible existence of Ce in a tetravalent state rather than a trivalent state in this system; that is, Ca2+ → Ce4+ replacement changes the hole carrier concentration. Hole filling is the cause of lowering T c of the system.  相似文献

We give a definition for the conditional probability that is applicable to quantum situations as well as classical ones. We show that the application of this definition to a two-dimensional probabilistic model, known as the epsilon model, allows one to evolve continuously from the quantum mechanical probabilities to the classical ones. Between the classical and the quantum mechanical, we identify a region that is neither classical nor quantum mechanical, thus emphasizing the need for a probabilistic theory that allows for a broader spectrum of probabilities.  相似文献

Four dimeric and four monomeric lipophilic iminosugars were synthesized and subsequently evaluated on their inhibitory potential towards mammalian glucosylceramide synthase, glucocerebrosidase, β-glucosidase 2, sucrase and lysosomal α-glucosidase. Compared to their monomeric counterparts the dimeric inhibitors showed decreased inhibition of glucosylceramide synthase and generally a comparable inhibitory potency for the glycosidases.  相似文献

The preparation of wide bore (320 μm) and narrow bore (50 μm) fused silica capillary columns is described for immobilized cyanopropyl substituted silicones containing 60 and 88% substitution. The effect of high temperature deactivation with cyanopropylcyclosiloxanes was studied with a special test mixture. Curing was achieved with dicumyl peroxide or azo-tert-butane. The columns were evaluated and compared in terms of efficiency, activity, polarity, and temperature stability. Different coating methods were compared for the narrow bore columns. The activity of the 60% cyanopropyl columns that had been immobilized with dicumyl peroxide was significantly larger than for azo-tert-butane immobilized columns. The polarity of polar columns appeared to depend greatly on column temperature and is completely different for wide and narrow bore columns.  相似文献

A new family of boron(III) chelates is introduced whereby molecular chirality, confirmed by circular dichroism, is imported during synthesis such that isolation of the diastereoisomers does not require separation procedures. The photophysical properties of two members of the family have been examined: the N,O,O-salicylaldehyde-based derivative shows pronounced intramolecular charge-transfer character in fluid solution and is weakly fluorescent, with a large Stokes shift. The corresponding 2-methylamino-benzaldehyde-derived N,N,O-chelate absorbs and fluoresces in the visible region with a much smaller Stokes shift. Orange fluorescence is also observed for this compound as a cast film. Temperature-dependence studies show that decay of the fluorescent state is weakly activated but emission is less than quantitative at 77 K. Quite rare for boron(III)-based chelates, this derivative undergoes intersystem crossing to form a meta-stable triplet-excited state. X-ray crystal structures are reported for both compounds, along with simulated ECD spectra.  相似文献

The effects of impurities on dextrose monohydrate crystallization were investigated. Crystal nucleation and growth kinetics in the presence of impurities were studied using an in-line focused beam reflectance monitoring (FBRM) technique and an in-line process refractometer. Experimental data were obtained from runs carried out at different impurity levels between 4 and 11 wt% in the high dextrose equivalent (DE) syrup. It was found that impurities have no significant influence on the solubility of dextrose in water. However, impurities have a clear influence on the nucleation and growth kinetics of dextrose monohydrate crystallization. Nucleation and growth rate were favored by low levels of impurities in the syrup.  相似文献
