Cu-based oxides oxygen carriers and catalysts are found to exhibit attractive activity for CO oxidation, but the dispute with respect to the reaction mechanism of CO and O2 on the CuO surface still remains. This work reports the kinetic study of CO oxidation on the CuO (111) surface by considering the adsorption, reaction and desorption processes based on density functional theory calculations with dispersion correction (DFT-D). The Eley–Rideal (ER) CO oxidation mechanism was found to be more feasible than the Mars-van-Krevelen (MvK) and Langmuir–Hinshelwood (LH) mechanisms, which is quite different from previous knowledge. The energy barrier of ER, LH, and MvK mechanisms are 0.557, 0.965, and 0.999 eV respectively at 0 K. The energy barrier of CO reaction with the adsorbed O species on the surface is as low as 0.106 eV, which is much more active in reacting with CO molecules than the lattice O of CuO (111) surface (0.999 eV). A comparison with the catalytic activity of the perfect Cu2O (111) surface shows that the ER mechanism dictates both the perfect Cu2O (111) and the CuO (111) surface activity for CO oxidation. The activity of the perfect Cu2O (111) surface is higher than that of the perfect CuO (111) surface at elevated temperatures. A micro-kinetic model of CO oxidation on the perfect CuO (111) surface is established by providing the rate constants of elementary reaction steps in the Arrhenius form, which could be helpful for the modeling work of CO catalytic oxidation.  相似文献

The rheology of the liquid crystal lamellar phase has been studied in a wide range of systems including non-ionic, anionic and cationic surfactants and block co-polymers. This review summarises the main advances in this area over the past twenty years and includes examples of the rheo-optical techniques, which help to elucidate the changes in microstructural conformation taking place in the lamellar phase during shear. Particular emphasis is given to the microstructural change of the lamellar phase from sheet-like bilayers to dispersed multilamellar vesicles (droplets). Examples of this transition are provided for both surfactant and block co-polymer systems. The review highlights similarities in the rheological signatures of the transition for different systems and also summarises the variation in behaviour of the lamellar phase at different surfactant concentrations and on the addition of salt.  相似文献

Tribological testing of polymers is of prime importance in many industrial applications. Silicon nitride AFM tips have been used to mimic the contact between amorphous polystyrene surfaces and a hard asperity, which is useful in understanding of how a multitude of asperities behave in a macroscopic contact. In this study, the adhesion force and the friction force of four PS molecular weights were measured and the average contact pressure was calculated by using the JKR contact theory. The nanotribological behavior of polystyrene showed a dependence on macromolecular weight with varying applied normal force and sliding velocity. The study indicates that the length of polymer chains noticeably influences the tribological behavior of amorphous polystyrenes. Mechanisms governing such behavior differences were ascribed to energy dissipating modes.  相似文献

A revised method to determine solubility of nitrogen in dilute pepsin, using 0.0002% pepsin in place of 0.2% in AOAC Official Method 971.09, was tested in 16 laboratories with 12 samples of fishmeal. Results were calculated according to 2 procedures: AOAC Official Method 971.09 and a method described in 1964 by researchers at the Torry Research Station (Aberdeen, Scotland), and generally referred to as the modified Torry method. Variations in the method of shaking and source of pepsin were also investigated. Pepsin solubility values were lower and more variable when calculated by the Torry procedure. The method of shaking apparently affected the result when calculated according to the Torry but not the AOAC method. The source of pepsin had no significant effect on between-laboratory variability, but a comparison of the 2 main sources within one laboratory resulted in highly significant differences. Based on this study, the International Fishmeal and Fish Oil Organization has adopted this new method, using 0.0002% pepsin but keeping the AOAC method of calculation. The type of shaker and source of pepsin are recommended but are not mandatory. The repeatability and reproducibility limits of this new method are 1.6 and 3.3% units of solubility, respectively.  相似文献

The macrocyclic phenanthrolinophane 2,9-[2,5,8-triaza-5-(N-anthracene-9-methylamino)ethyl]-[9]-1,10-phenanthrolinophane (L) bearing a pendant arm containing a coordinating amine and an anthracene group forms stable complexes with Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II) in solution. Stability constants of these complexes were determined in 0.10 mol dm(-3) NMe(4)Cl H(2)O-MeCN (1:1, v/v) solution at 298.1 +/- 0.1 K by means of potentiometric (pH metric) titration. The fluorescence emission properties of these complexes were studied in this solvent. For the Zn(II) complex, steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence studies were performed in ethanol solution and in the solid state. In solution, intramolecular pi-stacking interaction between phenanthroline and anthracene in the ground state and exciplex emission in the excited state were observed. From the temperature dependence of the photostationary ratio (I(Exc)/I(M)), the activation energy for the exciplex formation (E(a)) and the binding energy of the exciplex (-DeltaH) were determined. The crystal structure of the [ZnLBr](ClO(4)).H(2)O compound was resolved, showing that in the solid state both intra- and inter-molecular pi-stacking interactions are present. Such interactions were also evidenced by UV-vis absorption and emission spectra in the solid state. The absorption spectrum of a thin film of the solid complex is red-shifted compared with the solution spectra, whereas its emission spectrum reveals the unique featureless exciplex band, blue shifted compared with the solution. In conjunction with X-ray data the solid-state data was interpreted as being due to a new exciplex where no pi-stacking (full overlap of the pi-electron cloud of the two chromophores - anthracene and phenanthroline) is observed. L is a fluorescent chemosensor able to signal Zn(II) in presence of Cd(II) and Hg(II), since the last two metal ions do not give rise either to the formation of pi-stacking complexes or to exciplex emission in solution.  相似文献

An atomic force microscope was used so as to structure by nanofriction films of polynitrophenylene electrografted on substrates of n-type silicon (100) with the native oxide on the top of the surface. AFM measurements of thin films thickness have been carried out in the electrolytic solution for different applied potentials during the electrografting. This investigation allows (i) to determine the relationship between the applied potential and the final thickness of electrografted polyphenylene films and (ii) to specify how the thin layers grow. XPS analysis confirmed the AFM observations on (i) the effective shaving of the grafted polymer chains under mechanical stress and (ii) the existence of a potential threshold for electrografting a polyphenylene film on silicon oxide surfaces. The presence of a residual film in the rubbed zone was attributed to stronger interactions between the first electrografted layer and the native oxide of silicon (through Si-C or/and Si-O-C bonds) than those insuring the cohesion of the multilayer (C-C and C-N bonds).  相似文献

A novel stochastic fluid model is proposed with a nonideal structure factor consistent with compressibility, and adjustable transport coefficients. This stochastic hard-sphere dynamics (SHSD) algorithm is a modification of the direct simulation Monte Carlo algorithm and has several computational advantages over event-driven hard-sphere molecular dynamics. Surprisingly, SHSD results in an equation of state and a pair correlation function identical to that of a deterministic Hamiltonian system of penetrable spheres interacting with linear core pair potentials. The fluctuating hydrodynamic behavior of the SHSD fluid is verified for the Brownian motion of a nanoparticle suspended in a compressible solvent.  相似文献

Carbonaceous adsorbents are obtained by thermolysis of sulfonated macroreticular polystyrene ion exchange resins at 300-500°C. The hard, spherical, carbonaceous particles react exothermally with elemental chlorine to form products containing up to 38% Cl. The chlorinated particles react readily with polyamines to form anion exchange resins with capacities of up to 2.2 meq/g dry resin. Less than 60% of the nitrogen atoms in the particles are utilized as ion exchange sites. The carbonaceous particles can also be chloromethylated with chloromethyl methyl ether or chlorinated with sulfuryl chloride and then aminated with polyamines to form anion exchange resins, sulfonated with sulfuric acid or chlorosulfonic acid to form strongly acidic cation exchange resins, or chlorosulfonated and then aminated with polyamines to form anion exchange resins. Model structures of the thermolyzed resins containing polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon fragments are proposed to explain their chemical reactivities.  相似文献

This paper presents an improved synthesis of trans-chalcones and α,α′-bis(arylmethylidene) cycloalkanones under ultrasound irradiation in the presence of commercial acid-resins as catalysts in solvent free conditions. Several trans-chalcones and α,α′-bis(arylmethylidene) cycloalkanones were synthesized in good yields and excellent selectivity in a short reaction time.  相似文献
