An effective anion sensor, [Ru(II)(bpy)(2)(H(2)L(-))](+) (1(+)), based on a redox and photoactive {Ru(II)(bpy)(2)} moiety and a new ligand (H(3)L = 5-(1H-benzo[d]imidazol-2-yl)-1H-imidazole-4-carboxylic acid), has been developed for selective recognition of fluoride (F(-)) and acetate (OAc(-)) ions. Crystal structures of the free ligand, H(3)L and [1](ClO(4)) reveal the existence of strong intramolecular and intermolecular hydrogen bonding interactions. The structure of [1](ClO(4)) shows that the benzimidazole N-H of H(2)L(-) is hydrogen bonded with the pendant carboxylate oxygen while the imidazole N-H remains free for possible hydrogen bonding interaction with the anions. The potential anion sensing features of 1(+) have been studied by different experimental and theoretical (DFT) investigations using a wide variety of anions, such as F(-), Cl(-), Br(-), I(-), HSO(4)(-), H(2)PO(4)(-), OAc(-) and SCN(-). Cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry established that 1(+) is an excellent electrochemical sensor for the selective recognition of F(-) and OAc(-) anions. 1(+) is also found to be a selective colorimetric sensor for F(-) or OAc(-) anions where the MLCT band of the receptor at 498 nm is red shifted to 538 nm in the presence of one equivalent of F(-) or OAc(-) with a distinct change in colour from reddish-orange to pink. The binding constant between 1(+) and F(-) or OAc(-) has been determined to be logK = 7.61 or 7.88, respectively, based on spectrophotometric titration in CH(3)CN. The quenching of the emission band of 1(+) at 716 nm (λ(ex) = 440 nm, Φ = 0.01 at 298 K in CH(3)CN) in the presence of one equivalent of F(-) or OAc(-), as well as two distinct lifetimes of the quenched and unquenched forms of the receptor 1(+), makes it also a suitable fluorescence-based sensor. All the above experiments, in combination with (1)H NMR, suggest the formation of a 1:1 adduct between the receptor (1(+)) and the anion (F(-) or OAc(-)). The formation of 1:1 adduct {[1(+)·F(-)] or [1(+)·OAc(-)]} has been further evidenced by in situ ESI-MS(+) in CH(3)CN. Though the receptor, 1(+), is comprised of two N-H protons associated with the coordinated H(2)L(-) ligand, only the free imidazole N-H proton participates in the hydrogen bonding interactions with the incoming anions, while the intramolecularly hydrogen bonded benzimidazole N-H proton remains intact as evidenced by the crystal structure of the final product (1). The hydrogen bond mediated anion sensing mechanism, over the direct deprotonation pathway, in 1(+) has been further justified by a DFT study and subsequent NBO analysis.  相似文献

Interaction of potassium antimony(iii) tartrate hydrate K(2)(SbC(4)H(2)O(6))(2)·3H(2)O with the trilacunary Keggin derivatives [A-α-XW(9)O(34)](10-) (X = Si(IV), Ge(IV)) and [A-α-PW(9)O(34)](9-) in aqueous acidic medium (pH 4.8) resulted in three novel polyanions, [Sb(3)(A-α-XW(9)O(34))(2)](11-) (X = Si(IV) (1), Ge(IV) (2)) and [Sb(6)O(2)(A-PW(6)O(26))(A-α-PW(9)O(34))(2)](15-) (3), which were isolated as the hydrated potassium salts K(11)[Sb(3)(A-α-XW(9)O(34))(2)]·31H(2)O (X = Si(IV) (K-1), Ge(IV) (K-2)) and the mixed potassium-sodium salt K(14)Na[Sb(6)O(2)(A-PW(6)O(26))(A-α-PW(9)O(34))(2)]·61H(2)O (KNa-3) salts, respectively, and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, as well as elemental and thermogravimetric analyses. The Sb(III)-containing polyanions 1-3 possess unique structural features, as they represent the first examples of sandwich-type POMs with trigonal-pyramidal Sb(III)O(3) linkers. The stability of 1-3 in aqueous media was investigated by multinuclear ((183)W, (31)P) NMR and UV-Vis spectroscopy.  相似文献

The direct cross-coupling of tautomerizable heterocycles with various unfunctionalized heteroarenes has been achieved through PyBroP-mediated and Pd/Cu-catalyzed sequential C-OH/C-H activation. The methodology allows a facile entry into novel diazine-azole biheterocyclic frameworks. Moreover, an unprecedented Pd-catalyzed phosphonium homocoupling of tautomerizable heterocycles was also developed to afford a direct synthetic route to symmetrical 1,2-, 1,3-, and 1,4-bidiazine units.  相似文献

Macromolecular assemblies often display a hierarchical organization of macromolecules or their sub-assemblies. To model this, we have formulated a space warping method that enables capturing overall macromolecular structure and dynamics via a set of coarse-grained order parameters (OPs). This article is the first of two describing the construction and computational implementation of an additional class of OPs that has built into them the hierarchical architecture of macromolecular assemblies. To accomplish this, first, the system is divided into subsystems, each of which is described via a representative set of OPs. Then, a global set of variables is constructed from these subsystem-centered OPs to capture overall system organization. Dynamical properties of the resulting OPs are compared to those of our previous nonhierarchical ones, and implied conceptual and computational advantages are discussed for a 100ns, 2 million atom solvated Human Papillomavirus-like particle simulation. In the second article, the hierarchical OPs are shown to enable a multiscale analysis that starts with the N-atom Liouville equation and yields rigorous Langevin equations of stochastic OP dynamics. The latter is demonstrated via a force-field based simulation algorithm that probes key structural transition pathways, simultaneously accounting for all-atom details and overall structure.  相似文献

Controlling supramolecular self-assembly across multiple length scales to prepare gels with localised properties is challenging. Most strategies concentrate on fabricating gels with heterogeneous components, where localised properties are generated by the stimuli-responsive component. Here, as an alternative approach, we use a spiropyran-modified surface that can be patterned with light. We show that light-induced differences in surface chemistry can direct the bulk assembly of a low molecular weight gelator, 2-NapAV, meaning that mechanical gel properties can be controlled by the surface on which the gel is grown. Using grazing incidence X-ray diffraction and grazing incidence small angle X-ray scattering, we demonstrate that the origin of the different gel properties relates to differences in the architectures of the gels. This provides a new method to prepare a single domain (i.e., chemically homogeneous) hydrogel with locally controlled (i.e., mechanically heterogeneous) properties.

A mechanical pattern is created in a hydrogel film by pre-patterning the underlying surface chemistry. This allows spatial variation of the viscous component of the gel, controlling dissipative forces in the gel film without altering gel chemistry.  相似文献

This article presents the experimental study and comparative performance evaluation of four types of cook stoves using energy and exergy analysis. Analysis of four different types of cook stove models viz. Envirofit, Mangla, Harsha and Vikram were selected and the water boiling test has been carried out. The suitable biomass available from the local market was prepared in the proper size as described in the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and has been used as the fuel for cook stove in this experimental study. The aluminium pots of proper capacity as per BIS standard have been used for different cook stoves. The data from the experiments was collected and evaluated for the energy and exergy efficiencies for different models. Based on the data analysis it is found that the exergy efficiency is much lower than that of the energy efficiency for all the four models. It is also found that the both the efficiencies of Envirofit model are found to be higher than those of other models studied here.  相似文献

This article deals with the hitherto unexplored metal complexes of deprotonated 6,12‐di(pyridin‐2‐yl)‐5,11‐dihydroindolo[3,2‐b]carbazole (H2L). The synthesis and structural, optical, electrochemical characterization of dimeric [{RuIII(acac)2}2(μ‐L.?)]ClO4 ([ 1 ]ClO4, S=1/2), [{RuII(bpy)2}2(μ‐L.?)](ClO4)3 ([ 2 ](ClO4)3, S=1/2), [{RuII(pap)2}2(μ‐L2?)](ClO4)2 ([ 4 ](ClO4)2, S=0), and monomeric [(bpy)2RuII(HL?)]ClO4 ([ 3 ]ClO4, S=0), [(pap)2RuII(HL?)]ClO4 ([ 5 ]ClO4, S=0) (acac=σ‐donating acetylacetonate, bpy=moderately π‐accepting 2,2’‐bipyridine, pap=strongly π‐accepting 2‐phenylazopyridine) are reported. The radical and dianionic states of deprotonated L in isolated dimeric 1 +/ 2 3+ and 4 2+, respectively, could be attributed to the varying electronic features of the ancillary (acac, bpy, and pap) ligands, as was reflected in their redox potentials. Perturbation of the energy level of the deprotonated L or HL upon coordination with {Ru(acac)2}, {Ru(bpy)2}, or {Ru(pap)2} led to the smaller energy gap in the frontier molecular orbitals (FMO), resulting in bathochromically shifted NIR absorption bands (800–2000 nm) in the accessible redox states of the complexes, which varied to some extent as a function of the ancillary ligands. Spectroelectrochemical (UV/Vis/NIR, EPR) studies along with DFT/TD‐DFT calculations revealed (i) involvement of deprotonated L or HL in the oxidation processes owing to its redox non‐innocent potential and (ii) metal (RuIII/RuII) or bpy/pap dominated reduction processes in 1 + or 2 2+/ 3 +/ 4 2+/ 5 +, respectively.  相似文献

An amino‐acid‐based (11‐(4‐(pyrene‐1‐yl)butanamido)undecanoic acid) self‐repairing hydrogel is reported. The native hydrogel, as well as hybrid hydrogels, have been thoroughly characterized by using various microscopic techniques, including transmission electron microscopy (TEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), Raman spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, FTIR spectroscopy, X‐ray diffraction, and by using rheological experiments. The native hydrogel exhibited interesting fluorescence properties, as well as a self‐healing property. Interestingly, the self‐healing, thixotropy, and stiffness of the native hydrogel can be successfully modulated by incorporating carbon‐based nanomaterials, including graphene, pristine single‐walled carbon nanotubes (Pr‐SWCNTs), and both graphene and Pr‐SWCNTs, within the native gel system. The self‐recovery time of the gel was shortened by the inclusion of reduced graphene oxide (RGO), Pr‐SWCNTs, or both RGO and Pr‐SWCNTs. Moreover, hybrid gels that contained RGO and/or Pr‐SWCNTs exhibited interesting semiconducting behavior.  相似文献

Multivalent batteries show promising prospects for next-generation sustainable energy storage applications. Herein, we report a polytriphenylamine (PTPAn) composite cathode capable of highly reversible storage of tetrakis(hexafluoroisopropyloxy) borate [B(hfip)4] anions in both Magnesium (Mg) and calcium (Ca) battery systems. Spectroscopic and computational studies reveal the redox reaction mechanism of the PTPAn cathode material. The Mg and Ca cells exhibit a cell voltage >3 V, a high-power density of ∼∼3000 W kg−1 and a high-energy density of ∼∼300 Wh kg−1, respectively. Moreover, the combination of the PTPAn cathode with a calcium-tin (Ca−Sn) alloy anode could enable a long battery-life of 3000 cycles with a capacity retention of 60 %. The anion storage chemistry associated with dual-ion electrochemical concept demonstrates a new feasible pathway towards high-performance divalent ion batteries.  相似文献
