Optical polarizability of a composite metal–dielectric and dielectric–metal spherical nanoparticle is investigated in view of achieving all-optical tunability. In this work, the Electromagnetically Induced Transparency (EIT) implemented in the shell or core of the nanoparticle is used. For the proposed nanoparticle, we show that EIT phenomenon can be utilized to tune the resonance frequency in the frequency response of polarizability. We present a quasi-static analysis for determining polarizability of the nanoparticle. According to our simulation results, all-optical tunability of polarizability can be achieved for reasonable values of optical pump power. Also, we demonstrate how the extinction quality factor and electric field distribution can be controlled for the introduced nanoparticle.  相似文献

The aim of this note is to prove a result of effective stability for a non-autonomous perturbation of an integrable Hamiltonian system, provided that the perturbation depends slowly on time. We study behavior of number states in systems of coupled modes. Using an auxiliary mode and linear transformations, we propose a simple method for measuring on orthogonal bases other than 0 and 1 in the case of dual rail photonic computing which may act as a simple filter too. Using two auxiliary modes it is shown that an equivalent polarizing beam splitter can be realized for dual rail encoding. Simple structures based on coupled waveguides are presented for these purposes.  相似文献

We study the electromagnetic surface wave localizing, the so-called surface Tamm states, at an interface separating a left-handed metamaterial (LHM) and a semi-infinite one-dimensional photonic crystal made of alternative left-handed metamaterial and right-handed materials. We show that the existence of metamaterial causes the Tamm states with backward energy flow and allows flexible control of dispersion properties of the surface modes. We study the effect of the physical parameters of the photonic crystal on the dispersion properties and the group velocity of the Tamm states. We also study dispersion properties of the Tamm states in higher order photonic band gaps of the photonic crystal and compare our results with the case when the LHM medium is replaced by a right-handed material (RHM).  相似文献

A linear relationship between the half-wave reduction potentials of α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds R–CHCH–COX and the Hammett σp values of R and X is proposed: E1/2=−1.341σp(X)σp(R)+1.123σp(X)+1.746σp(R)−1.694. A linear relationship is also observed for the LUMO's energy values, the absolute chemical hardness η, the chemical potential μ, the electrophilicity power ω, or the polarisation of the ethylenic double bond with the Hammett σp values of R and X.  相似文献

We propose an ultra compact structure to realize demultiplexing operation for Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) communication systems using resonant cavity in modified-T Photonic Crystal (PC) structure. To the best of our knowledge, this is for the first time that a PC-based demultiplexer has been achieved with 1 nm channel spacing and 0.45 nm mean value of bandwidth without using either specific materials or complexities in fabrication process. Designs offering improvement of channel spacing and bandwidth of the proposed demultiplexer is our aim in this work. The attained characteristics are approximately in the range of the DWDM communication systems. Accurate resonant cavities have been used in terms of location and size of holes in the proposed structure in order for them to capture desired wavelengths in optical telecommunication range. Our simulations indicate the average amount of crosstalk (Xt) and the average quality factor (Q) to be ?21.1 dB and 3488, respectively. Two-dimensional (2D) Finite-Difference-Time-Domain (FDTD) is chosen for simulation of the proposed structure. The footprint of the structure is approximately 536 μm2 and can be fabricated and integrated densely and easily.  相似文献

New phosphonate ester derivatives were obtained by in situ stereo‐specific reaction between triphenyl phosphite and dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates in the presence of a series of halogenated anilines. Folate-targeted cyclodextrin/retinoic acid (CD/RA) conjugate was synthesized using carbonyldiimidazole (CDI) and dimethylaminopyridine (DMAP). The structure of the produced macromolecule was studied by FTIR and 1HNMR. The developed macromolecule could self-aggregate to form micelles. Critical micelle concentration (CMC) of the macromolecule was determined by pyrene as a fluorescent probe. Doxorubicin (DOX)-loaded micelles were prepared by direct dissolution method. To optimize the effect of cyclodextrin type (α or β), the molar ratio of RA to CD and the drug content, a full factorial design was used and their effects on particle size, polydispersity index, zeta potential, loading efficiency (LE%), and release efficiency (RE24%) in 24 h were studied. Orientation of folate ligand on the surface of the micelles was studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) technique. The cytotoxicity of DOX-loaded micelles was studied on KG-1 cells which overexpressed folate receptor (FR) and FR-negative HepG2 cells using MTT assay. FTIR and 1HNMR spectra confirmed successful production of the micelles and XPS spectra showed surface orientation of folate. The best results obtained from β-cyclodextrin with molar ratio of 4 to RA and 15 % drug content. The optimized micelles showed the particle size of 103?±?4 nm, zeta potential of ?36 mV, polydispersity index of 0.28?±?0.05, LE% of 100 %, and RE24% of 69.88?±?1.6 %. The IC50 of targeted micelles was half of non-targeted micelles and free DOX.  相似文献

In this study, poly(P-phenylenediamine/ZnO) (PpPD/ZnO) nanocomposite (NC) under ultrasonic conditions was synthesized and characterized. The presence of zinc oxide nanoparticles changed the morphology of PpPD considerably as confirmed by SEM observations. Hydrazine electrooxidation at novel modified carbon paste electrodes (CPE) with supported NC was investigated by cyclic voltammetry (CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and chronoamperometry (CA) techniques. Obtained results showed that the NC increases the surface catalytic activity of CPE toward hydrazine electrooxidation. The electrocatalytic current density increased linearly with hydrazine concentration, and the detection limit and sensitivity are determined to be 24 μM and 0.172 mA cm?2 mM?1, respectively. As revealed by the EIS measurements, the increased conductivity and decreased R ct are owing to the presence of ZnO NPs in the PpPD matrix. The CA results indicated that hydrazine electrooxidation results in higher steady-state current density on CPE/PpDP/ZnO electrode system compared to the CPE/PpDP and CPE electrodes.  相似文献
