Heavy metals in drinking water have become a severe threat to human health. Detection of heavy metals has been achieved by electrochemical sensors that are modified with complex nanocomposites; however, reproducibility of these sensors is still a big challenge when applied in commercial settings. Here, a simple, very robust, and sensitive electrochemical sensor based on a screen-printed carbon electrode modified with butterfly-shaped silver nanostructure (AgNS/SPCE) has been developed for the concurrent determination of cadmium (II), lead (II), copper (II), and mercury (II) in water samples. The electrochemical behavior of the modified electrodes was investigated using cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry. The AgNS/SPCE showed distinct peak potentials and a significant increase in the peak currents for all heavy metals, attributed to the high electrical conductivity and electrocatalytic activity of the synthesized butterfly-shaped AgNS. Moreover, the excellent stability and sensitivity towards simultaneous quantification of heavy metals have been obtained with detection limits of 0.4 ppb, 2.5 ppb, 7.3 ppb, and 0.7 ppb for Cd (II), Pb (II), Cu (II), and Hg (II), respectively. Besides, the constructed sensor was successfully applied to simultaneously quantify target heavy metals in spiked water samples. Owing to excellent sensitivity, high robustness, affordability, and fast response, the presented electrochemical sensor could be incorporated into a portable and miniaturized potentiostat device, making it a promising method for on-site water analysis.  相似文献

Quantum correlation measures are limited in practice to a few number of parties, since no general theory is still capable of reaching the thermodynamic limit. In the present work we study entanglement and non-locality for a cluster of spins belonging to a compound that displays a magnetocaloric effect. A quantum phase transition (QPT) is induced by an external magnetic field B, in such a way that the corresponding quantum fluctuations are reproduced at a much smaller scale than the experimental outcomes, and then described by means of the aforementioned quantum measures.  相似文献

A new modified carbon paste electrode (CPE) based on a recently synthesized Schiff base complex of Fe(III) as a suitable carrier for I ion is described. The electrode exhibits a super Nernstian slope of 71.0±0.3 mV per decade for I ion over a wide concentration range from 1.0×10−6 to 5.0×10−1 M, with a low detection limit of 6.5×10−7 M. It has a relatively fast response time, a satisfactory reproducibility and relatively long life time. The proposed sensor shows a fairly good selectivity toward I ion in comparison to other common anions. The potentiometric response is independent of the pH of the test solution in the pH range 3.5–10.0. Spectrophotometric studies confirmed the redox-type response mechanism of the electrode toward iodide ion. The proposed electrode was used as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of iodide ion.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

In the aluminum industry, the needs of predictability of the kinetics of precipitation during the artificial aging processes increase as the targeted applications require the maximisation of properties at the lowest costs possible. In this regard, kinetics modelling can be helpful to design the heat treatment processes. Despite using many fitting parameters, available models show a lack of fitting with experimental data, especially for the apparent heat capacity measured at high temperatures by a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). To address this issue, a mixed-mode model was recently developed for isothermal heat treatment, whereas non-isothermal heat treatment must be considered to compare the calculated results with those measured by isochronal heating in a DSC. In this contribution, the model is extended to non-isothermal heat treatments. To this end, the growth kinetics pathway and sequence of precipitation in a binary Al-Cu alloy have been simulated, optimising the pre-exponential factor and the activation energy of the interfacial mobility of the secondary phases. This calibration of the interfacial mobilities allowed a very good reproduction of the evolution of the apparent heat capacity with temperature. The model and calibrated interfacial mobilities were then used to compute the size evolution of θ′ precipitates in an Al-4?wt%Cu. The isothermal growth rates calculated at 4 temperatures were in good agreement with those measured and reported by independent researchers. The good predictability of the model indicates that the assumptions made were suitable and well funded, especially regarding the growth rates of embryos emerging from the subcritical growth regime.  相似文献

The intramolecular hydrogen bond, molecular structure, and vibrational frequencies of α‐chloro acetylacetone have been investigated. Fourier transform infrared and Fourier transform Raman spectra of this compound and its deuterated analogue were recorded in the regions 400–4,000 cm?1 and 50–4,000 cm?1, respectively. Rigorous normal coordinate analysis has been performed at the B3LYP/6‐311++G** level of theory for purposes of comparison. The complete vibrational assignment for TFAA has been made on the basis of the calculated potential energy distribution. We also applied the atoms in molecules theory and natural bond orbital method for the analysis of the hydrogen bond in α‐Chloro acetylacetone and acetylacetone. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Low density polyethylene (LDPE) was modified by plasma immersion ion implantation (PIII) with nitrogen ions of 20 keV. Surface energy and structural transformations were observed during storage of the modified LDPE in air after PIII, by wettability measurements and FTIR-ATR spectra respectively. The appearance of oxygen-containing groups has some kinetic stages with characteristic times from hours to days. The surface energy values attained and comparison with the kinetics of oxidation reveal that the initial changes in the surface energy of LDPE are caused mainly by free radicals and to a lesser extent by oxygen-containing groups. The final surface energies observed after the process known as hydrophobic recovery and the surface energies stabilize are attributable to oxygen-containing groups. The modified surface is “living” and an investigation of the wettability, surface energy, unsaturated and oxygen-containing groups in the surface layer of ion beam modified polymers is incomplete if the kinetics of structural transformations after modification is not taken into account.  相似文献

A bacterial strain was isolated and cultured from the oil excavation areas in tropical zone in southern Iran. It was affiliated with Pseudomonas. The biochemical characteristics and partial sequenced 16S rRNA gene of isolate, MR01, was identical to those of cultured representatives of the species Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This bacterium was able to produce a type of biosurfactant with excessive foam-forming properties. Compositional analysis revealed that the extracted biosurfactant was composed of high percentages lipid (65%, w/w) and carbohydrate (30%, w/w) in addition to a minor fraction of protein (4%, w/w). The best production of 2.1 g/l was obtained when the cells were grown on minimal salt medium containing 1.2% (w/v) glucose and 0.1% (w/v) ammonium sulfate supplemented with 0.1% (w/v) isoleucine at 37 °C and 180 rpm after 2 days. The optimum biosurfactant production pH value was found to be 8.0. The MR01 could reduce surface tension to 28 mN/m and emulsified hexadecane up to E24  70. The results obtained from time course study indicated that the surface tension reduction and emulsification potential was increased in the same way to cell growth. However, maximum biosurfactant production occurred and established in the stationary growth phase (after 84 h). Fourier Transform Infrared spectrum of extracted biosurfactant indicates the presence of carboxyl, amine, hydroxyl and methoxyl functional groups. Thermogram of biosurfactant demonstrated three sharp endothermic peaks placing between 200 and 280 °C. The core holder flooding experiments demonstrated that the oil recovery efficiencies varied from 23.7% to 27.1% of residual oil.  相似文献

The ion response to relativistic electron bunches in the so called bubble or blowout regime of a laser-plasma accelerator is discussed. In response to the strong fields of the accelerated electrons the ions form a central filament along the laser axis that can be compressed to densities 2 orders of magnitude higher than the initial particle density. A theory of the filament formation and a model of ion self-compression are proposed. It is also shown that in the case of a sharp rear plasma-vacuum interface the ions can be accelerated by a combination of three basic mechanisms. The long time ion evolution that results from the strong electrostatic fields of an electron bunch provides a unique diagnostic of laser-plasma accelerators.  相似文献
