In this paper, we present a linear time algorithm for constructing linkless drawings of series parallel digraphs with maximum number of symmetries. Linkless drawing in three dimensions is a natural extension to planar drawing in two dimensions. Symmetry is one of the most important aesthetic criteria in graph drawing. More specifically, we present two algorithms: a symmetry finding algorithm which finds maximum number of three dimensional symmetries, and a drawing algorithm which constructs linkless symmetric drawings of series parallel digraphs in three dimensions. 相似文献

We show that a closed 4-manifold is homotopy equivalent to the total space of a surface bundle over a surface if the obviously necessary conditions on the fundamental group and Euler characteristic hold. When the base is the 2-sphere we need also conditions on the characteristic classes of the manifold. (Our results are incomplete when the base is the projective plane.) In most cases we can show the manifold is s-cobordant to the total space of the bundle. 相似文献

[Ni( salen)] complexes bearing different crown ether receptors were electropolymerized to give films whose voltammetric signatures responded to Ba2+. In line with DFT calculations, X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) near the Ni K-edge showed the nickel local environment in the monomers and their corresponding polymers (in the presence or absence of barium) to be identical. However, the expectation of crown size-dependent barium local environment (based on geometry and donor atom availability) was not found. XAS near the Ba K-edge showed that Ba2+ in the films coordinated to only two oxygen donors, irrespective of crown size. This surprisingly low coordination number (compared to solution species) is accompanied by a higher barium/crown ratio than the anticipated 1:1 stoichiometry. The implications of these effects for design and performance of sensors based on metal ion recognition chemistry are discussed. 相似文献

A combination of XPS, reflectance infrared spectroscopy, and neutron reflectivity measurements has been used to probe the spatial and global extents to which carboxylic acid motifs in electrodeposited conducting polymer films can be functionalized by reaction with vapor phase reagents (a carbodiimide together with trifluoroethanol) with the goal of controlling hydrophobicity. Across a range of polymer deposition and reaction temperatures, neutron reflectivity showed that, surprisingly, functionalization of the polymer matrix at depths >5-10 nm into the polymer film was always significantly lower than at the exposed surface. The most efficient functionalization was found to occur when a low-density polymer matrix was prepared by elution of motifs cleaved from the polymer by base hydrolysis. Finally, when trifluoroethanol functionalization was performed, the macroscopic property of hydrophobicity was related to the surface, internal microstructure, and composition of the reacted films as elucidated by the above combination of probes. 相似文献

We compute the p-primary components of the linking pairings of orientable 3-manifolds admitting a fixed-point free S1-action. Any linking pairing on a finite abelian group of odd order is realized by such a manifold. We find necessary and sufficient conditions for a pairing on an abelian 2-group to be the 2-primary component of such a linking pairing, and give simple examples which are not realizable by any Seifert fibred 3-manifold. 相似文献

Purpose
The goals of this study were to determine if there were significant differences between singers and nonsingers in the morphology of vocal nodules and the associated impact on vocal function.Method
Participants were 10 professionally trained singers with nodules, eight nonsingers with nodules, and 10 individuals with healthy normal voice (controls). Surface electromyography (sEMG) from three anterior neck locations and acoustic rise times for vowels /a/ and /i/ were measured in all the participants. In individuals with nodules, dB SPL/cm H2O, glottal airflow, and nodule location and size were also measured.Results
There were no significant differences between singers and nonsingers with nodules in terms of airflow, dB SPL/cm H2O, nodule size, or nodule location. In nonsingers with nodules, airflow and nodule size were significantly correlated, but were not significantly correlated in singers. Vowel rise times and sEMG during vocal tasks did not differentiate among nodule and control groups. Sternocleidomastoid sEMG during initiation of the vowel /a/ was statistically significantly stronger in nonsingers with nodules relative to singers with nodules and controls.Conclusions
Nodule morphology did not differ between singers and nonsingers, although some behavioral aspects of phonation differed between the groups. 相似文献40.
