The UV,blue and green up-conversion luminescence of PbF2+GeO2:Er2O3 pumped with 650 nm

A detailed study of the spectroscopic properties of the PbF₂+GeO₂:Er₂O₃ vitroceramic sample upon 650 nm excitation was investigated. The absorption, emission, excitation spectra, and time-resolved spectra have been measured. The up-conversion of red radiation (650 nm) into UV (368 nm and 379 nm), blue (406.8 nm) and green (522 nm and 540 nm) emissions is observed for Er³⁺ ions in the sample. The up-conversion process involves a two-photon absorption for the violet, blue, and green emission bands. A three-photon process happens for another violet (379 nm) band.

Dynamic pricing and scheduling in a multi-class single-server queueing system

This paper investigates an optimal sequencing and dynamic pricing problem for a two-class queueing system. Using a Markov Decision Process based model, we obtain structural characterizations of optimal policies. In particular, it is shown that the optimal pricing policy depends on the entire queue length vector but some monotonicity results prevail as the composition of this vector changes. A numerical study finds that static pricing policies may have significant suboptimality but simple dynamic pricing policies perform well in most situations.     

On co-ordinated quasi-convex functions

A function f: I → ?, where I ? ? is an interval, is said to be a convex function on I if $$f(tx + (1 - t)y) \le tf(x) + (1 - t)f(y)$$ holds for all x, y ∈ I and t ∈ [0, 1]. There are several papers in the literature which discuss properties of convexity and contain integral inequalities. Furthermore, new classes of convex functions have been introduced in order to generalize the results and to obtain new estimations. We define some new classes of convex functions that we name quasi-convex, Jensenconvex, Wright-convex, Jensen-quasi-convex and Wright-quasi-convex functions on the coordinates. We also prove some inequalities of Hadamard-type as Dragomir’s results in Theorem 5, but now for Jensen-quasi-convex and Wright-quasi-convex functions. Finally, we give some inclusions which clarify the relationship between these new classes of functions.     

The Hamilton-Waterloo Problem with 4-Cycles and a Single Factor of n-Cycles

A 2-factor in a graph G is a 2-regular spanning subgraph of G, and a 2-factorization of G is a decomposition of all the edges of G into edge-disjoint 2-factors. A ${\{C_{m}^{r}, C_{n}^{s}\}}$ -factorization of K _υ asks for a 2-factorization of K _υ , where r of the 2-factors consists of m-cycles, and s of the 2-factors consists of n-cycles. This is a case of the Hamilton-Waterloo problem with uniform cycle sizes m and n. If υ is even, then it is a decomposition of K _υ ? F where a 1-factor F is removed from K _υ . We present necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a ${\{C_{4}^{r}, C_{n}^{1}\}}$ -factorization of K _υ ? F.     

Poly(vinylferrocenium) coated disposable pencil graphite electrode for DNA hybridization

Poly(vinylferrocenium) (PVF⁺) modified electrode was developed in this study for the electrochemical sensing of DNA based on the oxidation signals of polymer, adenine and guanine. Experimental parameters, such as; polymeric film thickness, DNA immobilization time and DNA concentration were examined in order to obtain more sensitive and selective electrochemical signals. After optimization studies, DNA hybridization was investigated.     

Formulas and numerical table for the radial part of overlap integrals with the same screening parameters of Slater-type orbitals

 The numerical properties of the radial part of overlap integrals with the same screening parameters in the form of polynomials in p = ξR over Slater-type orbitals have been studied and obtained by using three different methods. For that purpose, the characteristics of auxiliary functions were used first, then Fourier transform convolution theorem, and recurrence relations for the basic coefficients of A ^s _{n l λ, n ′ l ′λ} were used. The calculations of the radial part of overlap integrals with the same screening parameters were made in the range 1 ≤ n ≤ 75, 1 ≤ n′ ≤ 75, and 10⁻⁶ ≤ p.
