Gas-Sensitive Properties of SnO2-Based Thin Films Obtained from Film-Forming Solutions

Gas-sensitive properties of SnO₂ thin-film materials doped with antimony(III) with respect to the reducing gases CO, CH₄, and H₂ were studied. The materials were obtained from film-forming solutions of Sn(II) and Sb(III) complexes with acetylacetone.     

Synthesis in the 2-mercaptobenzothiazole series

The reduction of some dihydrothiazolobenzothiazolium salts with sodium borohydride may take place in two directions: with the formation of thiazolidino[2, 3-b]benzathiazolines and with the cleavage of the C-S bond to give N-(-mercaptoethyl)benzothiazolines. The behavior of thiazolidino[2, 3-b]benzothiazoline under the conditions of acid and alkaline hydrolysis has been studied.For communication VI, see [1].     

Selective suppression of some radical reactions by iron pentacarbonyl

Conclusions On the example of the homolytic reaction of methallyl chloride with CCl₄ it was found that iron pentacarbonyl in catalytic amounts can selectively suppress the radical process involving chlorine atoms, and at the same time it catalyzes the chain reaction with trichloromethyl radicals, which act as carriers of the kinetic chain.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 10, pp. 2320–2322, October, 1972.     

Evaluation of cyclodextrin polymer as a disintegrating agent

Cyclodextrin polymer was compared to other well known disintegrants concerning the swelling properties /water uptake, moisture uptake, hydration capacity, sedimentation volume in water/. Its high disintegrating effect was proved in directly compressed tablets as well as in tablets made by wet granulation. A remarkable improvement in tablet properties was observed. Not only the disintegration of tablets and the dissolution of the drug was accelerated but also the hardness increased when CDP was used as disintegrant.     

Integral intensities of the absorption bands of the skeletal vibrations of substituted furocoumarins

Conclusions The IR spectra of 5- and 8-hydroxyfurocoumarins and their esters, 5,8-disubstituted furocoumarins containing hydroxyl, methoxyl, and alkoxyl groups, and 4,5-dihydrofurocoumarins differ with respect to the intensity and number of the bands in the 1630–1500 cm^–1 region of the spectrum. Glycosides of marine invertebrates. XXVI. Holothurin A from the Pacific Ocean holothurianHolothvria squamifera. Isolation of the native aglycone

The known triterpene tetraoside holothurin A has been isolated from the Pacific Ocean holothurianHolothuria squamifera. By using two independent methods — enzymatic cleavage and two-stage Smith degradation — 22,25-epoxyholost-9(11)-ene-3β,12α,17α-triol, C₃₀H₄₆O₆, which is the native aglycone of holothurin A, was obtained. The structure of the native aglycone has been established on the basis of the results of IR, mass, and PMR spectroscopy.     

New method for the preparation of O-carbamoyl derivatives in the 4-hydroxyaminoimidazolidin-2-one series

The corresponding 4-(O-carbamoylhydroxyamino)imidazolidin-2-ones were obtained by cyclization of O,N-dicarbamoyl derivatives of N-(3-oximino-2-methyl-2-butyl)- and N-(1-oximino-2-cyclohexyl)methylamines in alkaline media. It was shown that the carbamoylation of 1-methyl-4,5-tetramethylene-3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-4-hydroxy-aminoimidazolidin-2-one gives, respectively, an O- or N-carbamoyl derivative, depending on whether it is carried out in alkaline or neutral solutions.Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 3, pp. 399–401, March, 1984.

Reactions of regioisomeric fluoroalkyl-containing β-aminovinyl ketones with hydrazines

Fluoroalkyl -alkyl--aminovinyl ketones react with hydrazine hydrate to give the respective razoles and with phenylhydrazine they form a mixture of pyrazoles and 5 hydroxy-²-pyrazolines. Alkyl(aryl) -fluoroalkyl--aminovinylketones do not react with the hydrazines mentioned above. With 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine, both types of fluoroalkyl-containing -aminovinyl ketones give only hydrazones of the corresponding methyl alkyl(aryl) ketones.
