Spectroscopy for neutron-rich nuclei 9He and 12Be has been performed by means of heavy-ion double charge exchange (HIDCX) (18O, 18Ne) reaction on stable target nuclei 9Be and 12C, respectively. Several clear peaks in 12Be at low excitation energy region even above neutron separation energy have been observed in one-shot measurement, whereas no prominent signals of 9He have been observed owing to the small cross section. It is shown that the HIDCX reaction is a new powerful spectroscopic tool for study of unstable neutron-rich nuclei.  相似文献

The exciton properties of thin nanotube structures are investigated theoretically. Anisotropic size dependencies have been found in the exciton binding energy, the kinetic energy for the relative motions of an electron and a hole, and the wavefunction. These anisotropies arise from the different boundary conditions in the tube-length and circumferential directions, namely, the topological features of nanotubes. We also found that it is possible to change the topology of exciton wavefunctions by varying the tube-length and the tube-radius. These findings suggest that the optical properties of nanotubes such as oscillator strength or nonlinear susceptibilities can be controlled by tuning the structural parameters, thus yielding a novel guiding principle for designing optical functional materials.  相似文献

Photovisco-elastoplasticity has been developed and applied to various problems in nonlinear stress analysis as an extension of photoelasticity into nonlinear photomechanics. In photoelasticity, because stress is simply related to strain, isochromatics are proportional to either the principal stress difference or the principal strain difference and isoclinics indicate the directions of either principal stresses or principal strains separately. However, in photovisco-elastoplasticity, these optical responses are nonlinearly related to both stress and strain state simultaneously. Thus isochromatics are related nonlinearly with both the principal stress and strain differences. Isoclinics depend on the direction of principal strain as well as that of principal stress. Concerning now isoclinic parameter: according to the results of experiments performed by us for the deformation state where the directions of principal stress and strain do not coincide with one another, it has been found that isoclinic parameter moves gradually from the direction of principal stress to that of principal strain with increasing viscous deformation under constant stress. In the present research, extending our previous investigations, the behavior of isoclinic parameter has been examined experimentally under cyclic stressing, where the direction of principal stress changes alternately. In the course of an experiment, the variation of isoclinic parameter in relation to the number of cycles was measured together with the corresponding strain state on the thin-walled tubular specimen of celluloid softened by heating, subjected to combined loading conditions consisting of constant axial tension and cyclic torsion. The results obtained may be summarized as follows.
  1. The cyclic-variation phase of isoclinic parameter lags behind the cyclic-variation phase of the direction of principal stress. The phase difference between these cyclic variations remains constant regardless of the number of cycles.
  2. Isoclinic parameter has a value close to the direction of the principal stress within a range of a small number of cycles and decreases with an increase in the number of cycles. However, it does not approach the direction of principal strain but a value between the direction of the principal stress and that of the principal strain, with a certain constant ratio to them.

The novel electrohydrodynamically-assisted electrostatic precipitator (EHD ESP) was developed to suppress particle reentrainment for collection of low resistive diesel particulates. The collection efficiency was compared between vertically and horizontally oriented electrodes of the EHD ESP using 400 cc diesel engine. The particle size dependent collection efficiency was evaluated for the particle size ranging in 20 to 5000 nm using a scanning mobility particle sizer (SMPS) and a particle counter (PC). Both horizontally and vertically oriented EHD ESP showed an excellent suppression of particle reentrainment. However, the horizontally oriented electrode EHD ESP showed significantly improved for the particle size of 300–500 nm in comparison with vertically oriented electrode EHD ESP, resulting in more than 90% collection efficiency for all particle size range. The EHD ESP has high potential especially for highly concentrated marine diesel engine emission control.  相似文献

Subsequent to the proposal of a two-layer structured radiator for more efficient detection of high-energy neutrons with a plastic nuclear track detector (PNTD), its availability has been investigated both experimentally and theoretically. An inner deuterized hydrocarbon (CD2) layer adjacent to PNTD should play the role of both a radiator of deuterons recoiled there and a degrader for energetic protons recoiled in the outer layer of a CH2 material. It was found that the energy dependence of the efficiency was changed sensitively by the thickness of the CD2 layer. A best combination of CH2 and CD2 thickness was estimated under a condition of a constant total thickness. For example, the sensitivity could be flattened within 20% between about 5 and 70 MeV by using -CD2 and -CH2.  相似文献

We study the output from the modes described by the superposition of Gaussian beams confined in the quasi-stadium microcavities. We experimentally observe the deviation from Snell's law in the output when the incident angle of the Gaussian beam at the cavity interface is near the critical angle for total internal reflection, providing direct experimental evidence on the Fresnel filtering. The theory of the Fresnel filtering for a planar interface qualitatively reproduces experimental data, and a discussion is given on small deviation between the measured data and the theory.  相似文献

We obtained high-quality lowest-loss-mode lasing in quasi-stadium laser diodes having unstable resonators that consisted of two curved end mirrors and two straight sidewall mirrors. The laser diodes were fabricated by applying a reactive ion etching technique to a metal-organic chemical-vapor deposition-grown graded-index separate-confinement heterostructure single-quantum-well GaAs/AlGaAs structure. The electrode contact area of the laser diodes was formed along unstable periodic orbits, along which the optical beams are localized. Highly directional fan-out beams corresponding to the numerically obtained lowest loss mode were emitted from the end mirrors under CW operation at room temperature.  相似文献

The formation of a deeply-bound K?? ? pp state by the 3He(in-flight K? n) reaction is investigated theoretically in a distorted-wave impulse approximation using the Green’s function method. The expected inclusive and semi-exclusive spectra at $p_{K^-} = 1.0$ GeV/c and $\theta_n = 0^{\circ}$ are calculated for the forthcoming J-PARC E15 experiment. We discuss these spectra with some K? -“pp” optical potentials, taking into account the energy-dependence of the imaginary part of the potentials by a phase space suppression factor.  相似文献

Lax et al. [Phys. Rev. 11 (1975) 1365] discovered that a light beam in vacuum is not a transverse wave but does have a longitudinal field component. We investigate atomic and molecular electric dipole transitions induced by such a light beam, in particular, linearly polarized in a transverse plane. We derive the selection rules and the transition rates for various quantization axes using the paraxial approximation up to the first order of 1/kw, where k is the wave number and w is the transverse size of the light beam. The light beam is able to yield atomic spin polarization in the direction perpendicular to both the optical axis and the transverse electric field, and its magnitude is approximately 1/kw times that generated by a circularly polarized light wave with the similar intensity.  相似文献

From polytitanosiloxanes (PTS), SiO2–TiO2 oxide fibers with fairly good tensile strength were prepared, and their mechanical and thermal properties were investigated. The precursor fibers PTS-0.5 and PTS-1.0 were obtained by dry spinning of a highly viscous PTS solution which were formed as the reaction mixture of silicic acid (SA) with bis(2,4-pentanedionato)titanium diisopropoxide (PTP) in the molar ratios (SA/PTP) of 0.5 and 1.0. The precursor fibers PTS-0.5 were too brittle to measure their tensile strength, whereas PTS-1.0 and the heat-treated fibers were found to have tensile strength of 130 (precursor), 540 (500°C), and 450 (900°C) MPa, respectively. Heat-treatment of the fibers PTS-1.0 at above 1000°C forms anatase and rutile of titanium dioxide. The crystallization is resulted from the unreacted PTP which is not incorporated into the polymer network.  相似文献
