It is shown, by means of computation on a specific model, how pulse broadening in multimode gradedindex optical waveguides is significantly affected by the levels of excitation of the high-order modes. Pulse widths are computed as functions of the profile parameter, under conditions of equal excitation, high-order mode suppression and GaAs laser excitation.  相似文献

We present a comparative study of ultrafast photoexcited state relaxation in pentacene single crystals and in pure and C60-doped pentacene films using optical pump-probe spectroscopy. The photoinduced absorption spectra in pentacene crystals is consistent with a dominant singlet-triplet fission decay channel for above-gap excitation. This decay channel is suppressed in thin films and even further suppressed by electron trapping in C60-doped films. Thus we show that suppression of triplet state production, which is necessary for free carrier formation and thus photovoltaic and photodiode performance, is controllable via sample morphology.  相似文献

A radiofrequency glow discharge ion source designed in our laboratory was coupled to a commercial double-focusing mass spectrometer in the original mode with an inductively coupled plasma ion source. This modification of rf GDMS extends the analytical capability of the mass spectrometer with ICP for the analysis of liquids to the direct analysis of insulating, semiconducting and conducting solids in the whole range of conductivity.The analytical procedure of the depth profiling analysis of the oxide coating of chromium-based alloys used as interconnectors in SOFC technology was discussed. The investigation of the depth profiles of Ni and Co in the thick oxide layers on the surface of Ni- and Co-doped alloys showed that the incorporation of these elements into the oxide during oxidation at 950°C is uniform.  相似文献

The microstructure of a series of high conversion copolymers of methyl acrylate (MA) and N-vinylcarbazole (NVC) was characterized by NMR. 1H- and 13C-NMR spectra were assigned by comparison to the homopolymers and by using heteronuclear shift correlation spectroscopy. MA-centered triad distributions were obtained from the carbonyl carbon. Distributions of NVC sequences were determined from aromatic carbons 1 and 8a, and aromatic proton 1 These experimentally determined sequence distributions were compared to those calculated from reactivity ratios approximated from the copolymer compositions. Agreement was very good for low NVC content copolymers. Three signals were particularly useful in providing rapid assessment of the distribution of NVC units within low NVC content copolymers: proton 1 and carbon 1 of NVC and the carbonyl carbon of MA. © 1992 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

The compounds (NC(12)H(8)(NH)(2))[Ln(N(3)C(12)H(8))(4)], Ln = Y, Tb, Yb, and [Ln(N(3)C(12)H(8))(2)(N(3)C(12)H(9))(2)][Ln(N(3)C(12)H(8))(4)](N(3)C(12)H(9))(2), with Ln = La, Sm, Eu, were obtained by reactions of the group 3 metals yttrium and lanthanum as well as the lanthanides europium, samarium, terbium, and ytterbium with 2-(2-pyridyl)-benzimidazole. The reactions were carried out in melts of the amine without any solvent and led to two new groups of homoleptic rare earth pyridylbenzimidazolates. The trivalent rare earth atoms have an eightfold nitrogen coordination of four chelating pyridylbenzimidazolates giving an ionic structure with either pyridylbenzimidazolium or [Ln(N(3)C(12)H(8))(2)(N(3)C(12)H(9))(2)](+) counterions. With Y, Eu, Sm, and Yb, single crystals were obtained whereas the La- and Tb-containing compounds were identified by powder methods. The products were investigated by X-ray single crystal or powder diffraction and MIR and far-IR spectroscopy, and with DTA/TG regarding their thermal behavior. They are another good proof of the value of solid-state reaction methods for the formation of homoleptic pnicogenides of the lanthanides. Despite their difference in the chemical formula, both types (NC(12)H(8)(NH)(2))[Ln(N(3)C(12)H(8))(4)], Ln = Y (1), Tb (2), Yb (3), and [Ln(N(3)C(12)H(8))(2)(N(3)C(12)H(9))(2)][Ln(N(3)C(12)H(8))(4)](N(3)C(12)H(9))(2), Ln = La (4), Sm (5), Eu (6), crystallize isotypic in the tetragonal space group I4(1). Crystal data for (1): T = 170(2) K, a = 1684.9(1) pm, c = 3735.0(3) pm, V = 10603.5(14) x 10(6) pm(3), R1 for F(o) > 4sigma(F(o)) = 0.053, wR2 = 0.113. Crystal data for (3): T = 170(2) K, a = 1683.03(7) pm, c = 3724.3(2) pm, V = 10549.4(14) x 10(6) pm(3), R1 for F(o) > 4sigma(F(o)) = 0.047, wR2 = 0.129. Crystal data for (5): T = 103(2) K, a = 1690.1(2) pm, c = 3759.5(4) pm, V = 10739(2) x 10(6) pm(3), R1 for F(o) > 4sigma(F(o)) = 0.050, wR2 = 0.117. Background  

Mutations in the Shaker-like voltage-gated potassium channel Kv1.1 are known to cause episodic ataxia type 1 and temporal lobe epilepsy. Mice that express a malfunctional, truncated Kv1.1 (BALB/cByJ-Kv1.1 mceph/mceph ) show a markedly enlarged hippocampus and ventral cortex in adulthood.  相似文献
