A novel membrane coated platinum-wire electrode (MCPWE) based on N,N'-bis(2-thienylmethylene)-1,2-diaminobenzene (BTMD) for highly selective determination of Ag+ ion has been developed. The influences of membrane composition and pH on the potentiometric responses of electrode were investigated. The potentiometric responses are independent of the pH of the test solution in the range of 5.0 - 9.0. The electrode shows a linear response for Ag+ ion over the concentration range of 1.0 x 10(-60 to 1.0 x 10(-1) M with a lower detection limit of 6.0 x 10(-7) M. The electrode possesses a Nernstian slope of 59.7 mV decade(-1) and a fast response time of < or = 17 s and can be used for at least 2 months without any observable deviation. The proposed electrode displayed very good selectivity for Ag+ ion with respect to NH4+ and alkali, alkaline earth and some common transition metal ions. The practical utility of the electrode has been demonstrated by its use as the indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of an AgNO3 solution with a NaI solution and in determination of the silver content of a developed radiological film. 相似文献

Minimum achievable phase noise of RC oscillators 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
To make RC oscillators suitable for RF applications, their typically poor phase-noise characteristics must be improved. We show that, for a given power consumption, this improvement is fundamentally limited by the fluctuation-dissipation theorem of thermodynamics. We also present the analytical formulation of this limit for relaxation (including ring) oscillators using a time-domain phase-noise analysis method which is introduced in this paper. Measurement shows the maximum possible improvement is generally less than 6dB for ring oscillators, while it can be as high as 21dB for other relaxation oscillators. The suboptimal performance of relaxation oscillators is attributed to the continuous current flow in these oscillator topologies. These results provide useful insight for feasibility studies of oscillator design. 相似文献

Overlapped FFT has been proposed as a signal detection scheme in dynamic spectrum access to reduce the variance of the noise and improve the detection probability. However, the improvement of the detection probability in the conventional overlapped FFT is bounded with the upper limit of the overlap ratio. This paper proposes a new overlapped FFT scheme using additional frames. In the proposed scheme, in addition to the original FFT frames, new frames that consist of multiple subframes with non-continuous samples are constructed and included. It can realize the increase of the number of the FFT frames and the improvement of the detection probability compared with the conventional scheme. Numerical results through computer simulation show that the proposed scheme improves the detection probability by up to 0.07. On indoor channel models the proposed scheme also improves the detection probability. In addition, it is clarified that as the delay spread increases the detection probability reduces due to the correlation between the frames. 相似文献

This paper presents a technique for designing a broad-band partially adaptive antenna using a new recursive fan filter. Each beamformer is designed using recursive two-pole sections. This method reduces the number of taps of the fan filter considerably. In this paper novel modified Hermite polynomial functions for use in impulse radio (ultra-wideband) communications are proposed. With these functions pulse shapes which are orthogonal and have nearly constant pulse width regardless of the pulse order are generated. These properties hold under the effects of differentiation. An M-ary communication system is constructed using these pulse shapes. A Matlab model for generating the pulses is designed and the effect of timing jitter on the performance of the system is investigated by computer simulation. 相似文献

This paper is the first report of robotic intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). ICSI is a clinical procedure performed worldwide in fertility clinics, requiring pick-up of a single sperm and insertion of it into an oocyte (i.e., egg cell). Since its invention 20 years ago, ICSI has been conducted manually by a handful of highly skilled embryologists; however, success rates vary significantly among clinics due to poor reproducibility and inconsistency across operators. We leverage our work in robotic cell injection to realize robotic ICSI and aim ultimately, to standardize how clinical ICSI is performed. This paper presents some of the technical aspects of our robotic ICSI system, including a cell holding device, motion control, and computer vision algorithms. The system performs visual tracking of single sperm, robotic immobilization of sperm, aspiration of sperm with picoliter volume, and insertion of sperm into an oocyte with a high degree of reproducibility. The system requires minimal human involvement (requiring only a few computer mouse clicks), and is human operator skill independent. Using the hamster oocyte-human sperm model in preliminary trials, the robotic system demonstrated a high success rate of 90.0% and survival rate of 90.7% (n=120). 相似文献

Wireless mesh networks (WMNs) are expected to be widely deployed due to their ability to provide ubiquity, convenience, cost-efficiency,
and simplicity for both service providers and end-users. Recently, the IEEE 802.11s standard introduces the hybrid wireless
mesh protocol (HWMP) which is inspired by a combination of on-demand and tree-based pro-active routing algorithms. In this
paper, we argue that the proposed unimetric path selection algorithm in the standard is not reliable. We introduce and examine
a novel multimetric wireless mesh path selection algorithm using fuzzy decision making under realistic wireless channel conditions.
The proposed path selection algorithm is designed to improve the performance of both re-active and pro-active routing protocols
of HWMP for not only single-channel but also multi-channel WMNs. The reported results show the superior performance of the
proposed path selection algorithm in terms of delay and packet delivery ratio without increasing overhead significantly. Although
some fuzzy-based routing algorithms have been defined in literature recently, to the best of our knowledge, this paper is
the first one to introduce and examine the use of fuzzy logic in the path selection of single- and multi-channel wireless

For ultra-wideband (UWB) communications with signal energy dispersed by a large number of multipath components, the design of a Rake receiver that can provide a desirable output signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) using only a moderate number of fingers becomes an important issue. In this paper, we propose a pilot-channel-assisted log-likelihood-ratio selective combining (PCA-LLR-SC) scheme for UWB Rake receivers to be used in long-range low-rate UWB communications envisioned by the IEEE 802.15.4a PHY specification. The pilot and data channels are constructed using quadrature sinusoidal bursts that have the same Gaussian envelope. The system parameters are optimized through jointly minimizing the channel estimation mean square error and maximizing the receiver output SNR. Extensive simulations confirm that the proposed PCA-LLR-SC scheme is capable of providing robust low-rate UWB communications in fast-fading multipath channels and in the presence of multi-user interference. 相似文献
