In order to clarify some aspects of the hydrophobic interactions, the enthalpies of dilution of monoethylurea, 1,3-dimethylurea,
and 1,3-diethylurea have been determined calorimetrically at 25°C. The calorimetric data, expressed in terms of excess enthalpy,
permit the evaluation of the pair and triplet interaction coefficients. The analyses of these and of the analogous coefficientsg

xxx, derived from osmotic data, indicate a driving force favorable to the interactions among the hydrated solute molecules. Nevertheless,
the positive values of theh

xxx coefficients seem to suggest that the source of the effect is a rearrangement of the water molecules rather than a direct
association of the solute molecules. There are evidences of a strict correlation between the enthalpic and the entropic effects.
Preliminary data were presented at the International Conferences on Chemical Thermodynamics at Baden (1973) and Montpellier
(1975). The experimental part was carried out at the Istituto Chimico of the University of Trieste.

In this work, thermoanalytical, diffractometry, and microscopy measurements have been performed in order to characterize the effect of high energy milling on a drug active in the migraine prophylaxis and smoke cessation. We can assert that the mechanical treatment induces only a partial amorphisation of the solid phase, in particular it reduces the crystal order by producing lattice defects which propagate from the surface to the bulk crystal. For this reason, the DSC is able to detect the presence of ordered solid, while the powder X-ray diffractometry, because of its low penetration depth, does not reach the crystalline core of the particles. 相似文献

It is shown that radiation pressure can be profitably used to entangle macroscopic oscillators like movable mirrors, using present technology. We prove a new sufficient criterion for entanglement and show that the achievable entanglement is robust against thermal noise. The structure of the defect pyrochlore NaW2O6+δ·nH2−zO after ion exchange with K, Rb, Sr or Cs for Na has been investigated using thermal analysis, solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance, laboratory X-ray and neutron diffraction methods. Neutron diffraction studies show that both the A-type cations (Na+, K+, Rb+, and/or Cs+) and the water molecules reside within the channels that form in the 111 direction of the W2O6 framework and that these strongly interact. The analytical results suggest that the water and A-type cations compete for space in the tunnels within the W2O6 pyrochlore framework, with the total number of water molecules and cations being approximately constant in the six samples investigated. The interplay between the cations and water explains the non-linear dependence of the a lattice parameter on the choice of cation. It appears that the ion-exchange capacity of the material will be controlled by the amount of water initially present in the sample. 相似文献
