Free‐radical homo‐ and copolymerization behavior of N,N‐diethyl‐2‐methylene‐3‐butenamide (DEA) was investigated. When the monomer was heated in bulk at 60 °C for 25 h without initiator, rubbery, solid gel was formed by the thermal polymerization. No such reaction was observed when the polymerization was carried out in 2 mol/L of benzene solution with with 1 mol % of azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as an initiator. The polymerization rate (Rp) equation was Rp ∝ [DEA]1.1[AIBN]0.51, and the overall activation energy of polymerization was calculated 84.1 kJ/mol. The microstructure of the resulting polymer was exclusively a 1,4‐structure where both 1,4‐E and 1,4‐Z structures were included. From the product analysis of the telomerization with tert‐butylmercaptan as a telogen, the modes of monomer addition were estimated to be both 1,4‐ and 4,1‐addition. The copolymerizations of this monomer with styrene and/or chloroprene as comonomers were also carried out in benzene solution at 60 °C. In the copolymerization with styrene, the monomer reactivity ratios obtained were r1 = 5.83 and r2 = 0.05, and the Q and e values were Q = 8.4 and e = 0.33, respectively. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The molecular orientation and strain‐induced crystallization of synthetic rubbers—polyisoprene rubber, polybutadiene rubber, and butyl rubber [poly(isobutylene isoprene)]—during uniaxial deformation were studied with in situ synchrotron wide‐angle X‐ray diffraction. The high intensity of the synchrotron X‐rays and the new data analysis method made it possible to estimate the mass fractions of the strain‐induced crystals and amorphous chain segments in both the oriented and unoriented states. Contrary to the conventional concept, the majority of the molecules (50–75%) remained in an unoriented amorphous state at high strains. Each synthetic rubber showed a different behavior of strain‐induced crystallization and molecular orientation during extension and retraction. Our results confirmed the occurence of strain‐induced networks in the synthetic rubbers due to the inhomogeneity of the crosslink distribution. The strain‐induced networks containing microfibrillar crystals and oriented amorphous tie chains were responsible for the ultimate mechanical properties. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The extraction and separation of copper(II), zinc(II), cobalt(II), and cadmium(II) were investigated. Both copper(II) and zinc(II) formed ammine-complexes, while cadmium(II) and cobalt(II) formed hydroxide precipitates in an ammonia medium. By the addition of sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS), a copper(II) complex formed an ion-pair (copper-ammine-DS), which was extracted into the SDS phase. However, a zinc(II) complex did not form an ion-pair, and was soluble in water. Copper(II) ion was recovered by stripping (back-extraction) after the addition of hydrochloric acid. A potentiometric and spectrophotometric investigation on the formation of zinc(II) complexes with Semi-Xylenol Orange (SXO or H(4)L) is reported. In an aqueous solution (mu = 0.1), three 1:1 complex species, MH(2)L, MHL(-), ML(2-), and a 1:2 complex, ML(6-)(2), seem to exist. In a strongly alkaline medium (above pH 12.5) the complexes may dissociate to give zinc hydroxide and L(4-). The formation of a hydroxy complex is not observed. The absorption maxima are at 445 nm (MH(2)L), 466 nm (MHL(-)) and 561 nm (ML(2-)), the molar absorptivities being 2.34 x 10(4), 2.42 x 10(4) and 3.14 x 10(4) 1.mole(-1) .cm(-1) respectively. The kinetics of 82 reactions of benzhydrylium ions (Ar(2)CH(+)) with n-nucleophiles has been determined at 20 degrees C. Evaluation by the equation log k = s(N + E) delivered the reactivity parameters N and s for 15 n-nucleophiles (water, hydroxide, amines, etc.). All nucleophiles except water (s = 0.89) and (-)SCH(2)CO(2)(-) (s = 0.43) have closely similar slope parameters (0.52 < s < 0.71), indicating that the reactions of most n-nucleophiles approximately follow Ritchie's constant selectivity relationship (s = constant). The different slope parameter for water is recognized as the main reason for the deviations from the Ritchie relationship reported in 1986. Correlation analysis of the rate constants for the reactions of benzhydrylium ions with the n-nucleophiles (except H(2)O) on the basis of Ritchie's equation log k = N(+) + log k(0) yields a statistically validated set of N(+) parameters for Ritchie-type nucleophiles and log k(0) parameters for benzhydrylium ions. The N and s parameters of the n-nucleophiles derived from their reactions with benzhydrylium ions were combined with literature data for the reactions of these nucleophiles with other carbocations to yield electrophilicity parameters E for tritylium, tropylium, and xanthylium ions. While the E parameters for tropylium and xanthylium ions appear to be generally applicable, it is demonstrated that the E parameters of tritylium ions can be used to predict reactivities toward n-nucleophiles as well as hydride transfer rate constants but not rates for the reactions of tritylium ions with pi-nucleophiles. It is now possible to merge the large data sets determined by Ritchie and others with our kinetic data and present a nucleophilicity scale comprising n- (e.g., amines), pi- (e.g., alkenes and arenes), and sigma-nucleophiles (e.g., hydrides). 相似文献

Electrical conduction among metallocycles has been unexplored because of the difficulty in creating electronic transport pathways. In this work, we present an electrocrystallization strategy for synthesizing an intrinsically electron-conductive metallocycle, [Ni6(NDI-Hpz)6(dma)12(NO3)6]·5DMA·nH2O (PMC-hexagon) (NDI-Hpz = N,N′-di(1H-pyrazol-4-yl)-1,4,5,8-naphthalenetetracarboxdiimide). The hexagonal metallocycle units are assembled into a densely packed ABCABC… sequence (like the fcc geometry) to construct one-dimensional (1D) helical π-stacked columns and 1D pore channels, which were maintained under the liberation of H2O molecules. The NDI cores were partially reduced to form radicals as charge carriers, resulting in a room-temperature conductivity of (1.2–2.1) × 10−4 S cm−1 (pressed pellet), which is superior to that of most NDI-based conductors including metal–organic frameworks and organic crystals. These findings open up the use of metallocycles as building blocks for fabricating conductive porous molecular materials.Intrinsically electron-conductive metallocycle was synthesized. π-Radicals play a key role in constructing π-stacked columns among molecular hexagons and achieving high electrical conductivity over 10−4 S cm−1 in polycrystalline pellet. 相似文献
