A series of azobenzene-functionalized poly(alkyl aryl ether) dendrimers have been synthesized and their photochemical and photophysical properties in solution and as thin films have been investigated. Although the photochemical behavior of the azodendrimers in solution indicated that the azobenzene units behave independently, very similar to the constituent monomer azobenzene unit, the properties of thin solid films of the dendrimers were distinctly different. The azodendrimers, AzoG1, AzoG2, and AzoG3 were observed to form stable supercooled glasses, which showed long-wavelength absorption and red emission characteristics of J-aggregates of the azobenzene chromophores. Reversible photoinduced isomerization of the azodendrimers in the glassy state is described.  相似文献

A simple method based on laser beam deflection to study the variation of diffusion coefficient with concentration in a solution is presented. When a properly fanned out laser beam is passed through a rectangular cell filled with solution having concentration gradient, the emergent beam traces out a curved pattern on a screen. By taking measurements on the pattern at different concentrations, the variation of diffusion coefficient with concentration can be determined.  相似文献

Pulsed photoacoustic measurements have been carried out in toluene at 532 nm wavelength using a Q-switched frequency doubled Nd:YAG laser. The variation of photoacoustic signal amplitude with incident laser power indicates that at lower laser powers one photon absorption takes place at this wavelength while a clear two photon absorption occurs in this liquid at higher laser powers. The studies made here demonstrate that pulsed photoacoustic technique is simple and effective for the investigation of multiphoton processes in liquids.  相似文献

Conductivities of some tetraalkylammonium halides, viz. tetrabutylammonium bromide (Bu4NBr), tetrapentylammonium bromide (Pen4NBr), tetrahexylammonium bromide (Hex4NBr) and tetraheptylammonium bromide (Hep4NBr) were measured at 298.15 K in THF + C6H6 mixtures with 10, 20, 30 and 40 mass% of C6H6. A minimum in the conductance values was observed as concentration increases, which dependent both on the salt and the solvent. The observed molar conductivities were explained by the formation of ion-pairs (M+ + X ↔ MX, KP) and triple-ions (2 M+ + X ↔ M2X+; M+ + 2X ↔ MX2, KT). A linear relationship between the triple-ion formation constants [log(KT/KP)] and the salt concentrations at the minimum conductivity (log Cmin) was given for all salts in C6H6 + THF mixtures. The formation of triple-ions might be attributed to the ion sizes in solutions in which coulombic interactions and covalent bonding forces act as the main forces between the ions (R4N+ X).  相似文献

Time resolved optical emission spectroscopy is employed to study the expansion dynamics of C2 species in a graphite plasma produced during the Nd : YAG ablation. At low laser fluences a single peak distribution with low kinetic energy is observed. At higher fluences a twin peak distribution is found. It has been noted that these double peak time of flight distribution splits into a triple peak structure at distances ≥17mm from the target surface. The reason for the occurrence of multiple peak is due to different formation mechanisms of C2 species.  相似文献

The use of fluorescent solid films of a 1-(p-butyloxyphenyl)-4-(p-cyanophenyl)buta-1E, 3E-diene as an efficient temperature sensor is described. The fluorescence changes in these films are proposed to occur due to a reversible temperature-dependent variation in its monomer-aggregate ratio. Photoisomerization of the butadiene chromophore in solid films was observed to occur only at elevated temperatures (> 120C), making the material also useful for reversible photochemical generation of fluorescence patterns with nondestructive readout properties.  相似文献

Development of green nanotechnology is generating interest of researchers toward ecofriendly biosynthesis of nanoparticles. In this study, biosynthesis of stable silver nanoparticles was done using Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum) leaf extract. These biosynthesized nanoparticles were characterized with the help of UV–vis spectrophotometer, Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS), Dynamic light scattering (DLS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and Transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Stability of bioreduced silver nanoparticles was analyzed using UV–vis absorption spectra, and their antimicrobial activity was screened against both gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms. It was observed that O. sanctum leaf extract can reduce silver ions into silver nanoparticles within 8 min of reaction time. Thus, this method can be used for rapid and ecofriendly biosynthesis of stable silver nanoparticles of size range 4–30 nm possessing antimicrobial activity suggesting their possible application in medical industry.  相似文献
