On the basis of the mean value of electrical breakdown time delay and the standard deviation of electrical breakdown time delay σ dependence on the afterglow period τ, the mechanisms which dominantly influence to breakdown initiation in nitrogen were separated. It was shown that the positive ions formed in mutual collision of long‐lived metastable molecules have a dominant role in breakdown initiation for τ values up to 70 ms. The metastable molecules were derived from previous breakdown and discharge. In this case σtd and the total time delay td is approximately equal to formative time tf which decreases in value with the increase of overvoltage. When positive ions have a dominant role in the breakdown initiation the Gaussian distribution describes data of tdtf very well. For τ > 1 s, N (4S) atoms formed in previous breakdown and discharge, have a dominant role in the breakdown initiation. The present note deals with the effects of radiative heat transfer and free convection in MHD for a flow of an electrically conducting, incompressible, dusty viscous fluid past an impulsively started vertical non-conducting plate, under the influence of transversely applied magnetic field. The heat due to viscous dissipation and induced magnetic field is assumed to be negligible. The governing linear partial differential equations are solved by finite difference technique. The effects of various parameters (like radiation parameter N, Prandtl number Pr, porosity parameter K) entering into the MHD Stokes problem for flow of dusty conducting fluid have been examined on the temperature field and velocity profile for both the dusty fluid and dust particles.  相似文献

Abstract— The properties of a pulsed ruby laser beam focused through a triocular microscope were studied in relation to microsurgery. Quantitative studies on 'model tissues' with different absorbencies at 6943 Å revealed that the spot diameter of the focused microbeam was dependent upon several factors. It decreased with (1) a decrease in the absorption by the object at 6943 Å; (2) a decrease in the energy of the microbeam; and (3) an increase in the magnification of the microscope. The existence of the 'tube of effect' in the optical path of the focused micro-beam was realized by irradiating the object at different planes. The depth of the tube of effect increased with (1) increase in laser energy or (2) decrease in magnification. By employing certain plant species ( Spirogyra praetensis Transeau, Ulva lactuca Linnaeus, Porphyra miniata (Lyngbye) C. Agardh and Elodea sp.) the reaction of the protoplasm to the laser microbeam in terms of 'primary damage' and 'secondary damage' was defined. Based on these experimental data the concept of minimal visible spot size in laser microsurgery and its limitations are discussed.  相似文献

A series of 26,27-cyclopropylidine side chain modified sterols were prepared for the first time from the known aldehydes by Wittig olefination with the ylide from cyclopropyltriphenylphosphonium bromide in butyllithium. Two novel by-products were detected; sterols with nine carbon side chains which lack the terminal isopropyl group and with double bonds in positions 23,24 or 24,25. The structures of the compounds were confirmed by a combination of chromatographic (GLC and HPLC) and spectral (IR, 1H, 13C-NMR) methods.

The objective of the study was to pinpoint the effect of stress induced rock matrix alterations on NMR-wireline-log measurements by means of laboratory T1 and T2 relaxation time measurements. The research activities were subdivided into two major parts: NMR relaxation measurements on a brine saturated outcrop sandstone (Red Wildmoor Sandstone) during uniaxial compressional tests and NMR relaxation measurements on artificial sandstone samples prepared with defined crack patterns. The paper investigates the effects of heat transfer in MHD flow of viscoelastic stratified fluid in porous medium on a parallel plate channel inclined at an angle θ. A laminar convection flow for incompressible conducting fluid is considered. It is assumed that the plates are kept at different temperatures which decay with time. The partial differential equations governing the flow are solved by perturbation technique. Expressions for the velocity of fluid and particle phases, temperature field, Nusselt number, skin friction and flow flux are obtained within the channel. The effects of various parameters like stratification factor, magnetic field parameter, Prandtl number on temperature field, heat transfer, skin friction, flow flux, velocity for both the fluid and particle phases are displayed through graphs and discussed numerically.  相似文献

Sterol 14alpha-demethylases (CYP51) serve as primary targets for antifungal drugs, and specific inhibition of CYP51s in protozoan parasites Trypanosoma brucei (TB) and Trypanosoma cruzi (TC) might provide an effective treatment strategy for human trypanosomiases. Primary inhibitor selection is based initially on the cytochrome P450 spectral response to ligand binding. Ligands that demonstrate strongest binding parameters were examined as inhibitors of reconstituted TB and TC CYP51 activity in vitro. Direct correlation between potency of the compounds as CYP51 inhibitors and their antiparasitic effect in TB and TC cells implies essential requirements for endogenous sterol production in both trypanosomes and suggests a lead structure with a defined region most promising for further modifications. The approach developed here can be used for further large-scale search for new CYP51 inhibitors.  相似文献
