High-spin states of the 44Ca nucleus populated in the 68 MeV 18O + 30Si reaction have been studied in a γ-γ-recoil coincidence experiment. The level scheme of 44Ca has been extended up to 12.2 MeV. In particular, the negative-parity band has been identified with the highest I = 13- level at 10.6 MeV. This state is interpreted as the band-terminating state for the ( d

Summary: The new polymer gel dosimeter, based on the modification of the VIPAR gel composition, is described for the purpose of radiation dose distribution measurement in radiotherapy. It features increased concentration of the two VIPAR substrates: N-vinylpyrrolidone (8%) and gelatine (7.5%) (N,N′-methylenebisacrylamide was maintained at 4%), and the addition of copper sulphate (0.0008%) and ascorbic acid (0.007%) in order to facilitate the preparation through elimination of the need for deoxygenation of the gel. Following the exposure to ionizing radiation, polymerisation and cross-linking of the new gel monomers occurs retaining the spatial distribution of absorbed dose and causing opacity of the gel. Quantitative parameters of the new gel dose response were studied using magnetic resonance imaging to relate polymerisation induced physicochemical changes of the gel to dose. The dose threshold is found significantly lower than that of the original VIPAR gel. The linear part of measured spin-spin relaxation rate R2(D) ( = 1/T2(D)) reaches up to 35 Gy. Its slope and an intercept are slightly higher relative to the original VIPAR. The efficiency of the new polymer gel-magnetic resonance imaging dosimeter was also tested for dose verification of a 3D dose distribution planned by a commercially available treatment planning software (Eclipse External Beam v.6.5) and delivered by a 6 MV medical linear accelerator. We obtained a gold nanomaterial/graphene oxide-modified glassy carbon electrode and characterized it using transmission electron microscope, scanning electron microscope, cyclic voltammetry (CV), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy techniques. A response of the electrode using square wave anodic stripping voltammetry for Pb2+, Cu2+, and Hg2+ was found linear in the range from 1 × 10–7 to 1 × 10–11 M. The detection limits of Pb2+, Cu2+ and Hg2+ were 0.14, 0.5 and 1.2 pM, respectively. The method was applied to the simultaneous determination of Pb2+, Cu2+ and Hg2+ in seawater samples from a coastal region of Anatolia, and the results corresponded well with the values obtained by inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectroscopy. 相似文献

Accurate analysis of samples is very important for scientists working in many fields. XRF device is used very frequently especially in mine analysis. However, researchers are trying to reach accurate results with many different analysis methods. In addition to the known analysis methods, alternative research methods also guide the studies. In this study, two barite ore samples, collected from two regions of different nature (Denizli and Akda?madeni) by following specified sampling methods, were analyzed using Confocal Raman Spectroscopy (CRS) and Polarized Energy Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence (PEDXRF) spectrometer. The first sample was from a metamorphic basement, and the second was from an alkali syenite rock unit. The main objective of this paper is to compare the optical characteristics of these two different barite samples collected from different regions under a polarized microscope, using CRS and PEDXRF. The results of polarized microscopy analysis showed that the barite taken from Denizli is associated with calcite. On the other hand, the barite taken from Akda?madeni is associated with galena, celestite, and quartz. Two different colors were observed in the barite samples. CRS and PEDXRF results showed that the barites collected from two regions differed in mineral association, chemical composition, and physical properties. The accuracy of the chemical analysis technique was ensured by following USGS standards, GBW 7109, and GBW-7309 Sediment. Barite ores were analyzed using HR-800 (HORIBA-Jobin Yvon) CRS and a polarized microscope (Leica DMLP). Thanks to this study, it has been shown that mineral analyzes can be performed with an accuracy close to XRF with Confocal Raman spectroscopy. Confocal Raman spectroscopy will also guide researchers for mineral analysis. 相似文献

pH-sensitive PVP–PAA hydrogels have been prepared by electron-beam-induced irradiation at pH close to pKa of carboxylic groups. Protonation of these groups promoted the formation of hydrogen bonds between the PAA and PVP segments within the crosslinked structure and caused interpolymer complex formation. To demonstrate possible future application of such gels, we tested them as simple chemical detectors. When loaded with glucose oxidase, the PAA–PVP gel's turbidity and shrinkage was triggered by the presence of glucose due to a drop in pH caused by the enzymatic reaction. 相似文献
