The quantification of nitric oxide (NO) based on the quenching of the fluorescence of a nanocomposites sensor constituted by cadmium/selenium quantum dots (CdSe) stabilized by chitosan (CS) and mercaptosuccinic acid (MSA) is assessed. The optimization of the response of the CS-CdSe-MSA nanocomposites to NO was done by multivariate response surface experimental design methodologies. The highest fluorescence quenching was obtained at pH 5.5 and at room temperature. The NO quantification capability of CS-CdSe-MSA was evaluated using standard solutions and a NO donor reagent. A large linear working range from 5 to 200 μM and a limit of detection of 1.86 μM were obtained. Better quantification results were obtained using the NO donor reagent. Besides NO, the response of the fluorescence of CS-CdSe-MSA to the main reactive oxygen and nitrogen species and similar NO compounds was also assessed. 相似文献

We designed and fabricated multilayer metal/metal-oxide surface relief diffractive grating structures by growing alternating Pt and SnO(x) layers. Optical interrogation at 633 nm reveals the temperature dependence of their reflection and transmission diffractive effects. This function is explored here in the context of a remote, spatially localized, photonic temperature sensing operation, achieving sensitivity of 10% per °C for the zeroth-order in the transmission mode. The experimental demonstration is found to be in good agreement with the results of rigorous coupled wave analysis of the composite metal/metal-oxide element. 相似文献

Several acrylic hydrogels were prepared via ultrasonic polymerization of water soluble monomers and macromonomers. Ultrasound was used to create initiating radicals in viscous aqueous monomer solutions using the additives glycerol, sorbitol or glucose in an open system at 37 °C. The water soluble additives were essential for the hydrogel production, glycerol being the most effective. Hydrogels were prepared from the monomers 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, poly(ethylene glycol) dimethacrylate, dextran methacrylate, acrylic acid/ethylene glycol dimethacrylate and acrylamide/bis-acrylamide. For example a 5% w/w solution of dextran methacrylate formed a hydrogel in 6.5 min in a 70% w/w solution of glycerol in water at 37° C with 20 kHz ultrasound, 56 W cm?2. The ultrasonic polymerization method described here has a wide range of applications such a biomaterial synthesis where initiators are not desired. 相似文献

Taperebá (Spondias mombin L.) is a native species of the Brazilian Cerrado that has shown important characteristics such as a significant phenolic compound content and biological activities. The present study aimed to characterize the phenolic compound profile and antioxidant activity in taperebá peel extract, as well as microencapsulating the extract with chitosan and evaluating the stability of the microparticles. The evaluation of the profile of phenolic compounds was carried out by UPLC-MS/MS. The in vitro antioxidant activity was evaluated by DPPH and ABTS methods. The microparticles were obtained by spray drying and were submitted to a stability study under different temperatures. In general, the results showed a significant content of polyphenols and antioxidant activity. The results of UPLC-MS/MS demonstrated a significant content of polyphenols in taperebá peel, highlighting the high content of ellagic acid and quercetin compounds. There was significant retention of phenolic compounds when microencapsulated, demonstrating high retention at all evaluated temperatures. This study is the first to microencapsulate the extract of taperebá peel, in addition to identifying and quantifying some compounds in this fruit. 相似文献

In recent decades, the number of patients requiring biocompatible and resistant implants that differ from conventional alternatives dramatically increased. Among the most promising are the nanocomposites of biopolymers and nanomaterials, which pretend to combine the biocompatibility of biopolymers with the resistance of nanomaterials. However, few studies have focused on the in vivo study of the biocompatibility of these materials. The electrospinning process is a technique that produces continuous fibers through the action of an electric field imposed on a polymer solution. However, to date, there are no reports of chitosan (CS) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) electrospinning with carbon nano-onions (CNO) for in vivo implantations, which could generate a resistant and biocompatible material. In this work, we describe the synthesis by the electrospinning method of four different nanofibrous membranes of chitosan (CS)/(PVA)/oxidized carbon nano-onions (ox-CNO) and the subdermal implantations after 90 days in Wistar rats. The results of the morphology studies demonstrated that the electrospun nanofibers were continuous with narrow diameters (between 102.1 nm ± 12.9 nm and 147.8 nm ± 29.4 nm). The CS amount added was critical for the diameters used and the successful electrospinning procedure, while the ox-CNO amount did not affect the process. The crystallinity index was increased with the ox-CNO introduction (from 0.85% to 12.5%), demonstrating the reinforcing effect of the nanomaterial. Thermal degradation analysis also exhibited reinforcement effects according to the DSC and TGA analysis, with the higher ox-CNO content. The biocompatibility of the nanofibers was comparable with the porcine collagen, as evidenced by the subdermal implantations in biological models. In summary, all the nanofibers were reabsorbed without a severe immune response, indicating the usefulness of the electrospun nanocomposites in biomedical applications. 相似文献

The pH effect of potato, apple, and soil matrices on the chromatographic response of nine pesticides was evaluated. All chromatographic analyses were performed in duplicate on a gas chromatograph with electron capture detection. The matrix effect observed in the chromatographic response of the pesticides was evaluated by comparison. We compared the chromatographic response of each pesticide in pure solvent and in organic extract obtained for the matrices. The organic extracts were obtained by solid–liquid extraction with partition at low temperature. Depending on the matrix pH, a greater or lesser amount of co-extractives can be extracted into the organic phase, which affects the matrix effect. The pH of the samples before the extraction process was modified in order to check their influence on pesticide responses. Statistical analyses involving principal component analysis and marginal means revealed that, in the potato and apple matrices, the co-extractives exerted positive effects on the chromatographic response of the analytes. At lower pH, the extraction of co-extractives from potato and apple was favored, thus increasing the matrix effect for these samples. 相似文献

glass beads and an addition of free peroxidase, adapted in an FIA line, for continued reuse. This integrated biosensor-FIA
system is being used for quality control of biofuels, gasohol, and hydrated ethanol. The FIA system integrated with the microreactor
showed a calibration curve in the range of 0.05–1.5 g of ethanol/L, and good results were obtained compared with the ethanol

An innovative MRI contrast agent based on the unprecedented and easily obtained ligand AAZTA is described. The simple and straightforward synthesis of the ligand, together with the potentiometric and relaxometric behavior of the corresponding Gd(III) chelate, is reported. The complex [Gd(AAZTA)]- shows outstanding magnetic properties connected with high thermodynamic stability in aqueous solution and a nearly complete inertness toward the influence of bidentate endogenous anions, placing this compound as one of the most promising candidates for the development of high performance MRI contrast agents. 相似文献
