The mass power spectrum for a Universe dominated by the Chaplygin gas is evaluated numerically from scales of the order of the Hubble horizon to 100 Mpc. The results are compared with a pure baryonic Universe and a cosmological constant model. In all three cases, the spectrum increases with k, the wavenumber of the perturbations. The slope of the spectrum is higher for the baryonic model and smaller for the cosmological constant model, the Chaplygin gas interpolating these two models. The results are analyzed in terms of the sound velocity of the Chaplygin gas and the moment the Universe begins to accelerate. 相似文献

Summary A continuous flow analysis is described for the determination of total mercury by cold vapor atomic absorption spectrometry. Organic mercury compounds such as methylmercury(II) chloride, ethylmercury(II) chloride and phenylmercury(II) chloride were decomposed by potassium peroxodisulphate with addition of ferric chloride as catalytic reagent. The reducing reagent used was tin(II) chloride in sodium hydroxide solution. With 1,000 mg Fe/l added in the decomposition process, we found that methylmercury(II) chloride and ethylmercury(II) chloride gave response signals similar to those of mercury(II) chloride. The proposed method was applied to the analysis of total mercury in waste water.

Adaptation of populations takes place with the occurrence and subsequent fixation of mutations that confer some selective
advantage
to the individuals which acquire it. For this reason, the study of the process of fixation of advantageous mutations has a
long history
in the population genetics literature. Particularly, the previous investigations aimed to find out the main evolutionary forces
affecting the strength of natural selection in the populations.
In the current work, we investigate the dynamics of fixation of beneficial mutations in a subdivided population. The subpopulations
(demes)
can exchange migrants
among their neighbors, in a migration network which is assumed to have either a random graph or a scale-free topology. We
have observed that the migration rate
drastically affects the dynamics of mutation fixation, despite of the fact that the probability of fixation is invariant on
the
migration rate, accordingly to
Maruyama's conjecture. In addition, we have noticed a topological dependence of the adaptive evolution of the population when
clonal interference

The resonance neutron self-shielding factor, G
res, is required in neutron metrology and activation data analysis. In a previous paper, the authors have shown that a dimensionless
variable can be introduced which converts the dependence of G
res on the physical and nuclear properties of the material samples into an universal curve, valid for the isolated resonances
of any nuclide. This work presents a methodology based on the universal curve, which enables to calculate G
res for a group of isolated resonances by weighting its individual contributions. A good agreement was reached with results calculated
by the MCNP code and with experimental values for Mo foils and wires.

The general features of two series of sol-gel derived materials, designatedurethanesils (Ut), have been investigated by infrared and Raman spectroscopies with the goal of elucidating the chemical environment of
the Eu3+ cations.
The host frameworks of the two families of ormolytes studied have been represented by m-Ut(350) and d-Ut(300), where m stands
for mono, d stands for di, 350 and 300 are the average molecular weights of the organic precursors (poly(ethylene glycol)
methyl ether, PEGME, and poly(ethylene glycol), PEG, respectively).
The hybrid matrix of the mono-xerogels is composed by a siliceous backbone bonded by means of urethane linkages (-NHC (=O)O-)
to pendant methyl end capped oligopolymer chains with approximately 7 oxyethylene units, whereas that of the di-xerogels is
based on a siliceous network grafted through urethane groups to both ends of poly(oxyethylene) segments containing about 6
(OCH2CH2) repeat units.
Both classes of materials have been doped with europium triflate (Eu(CF3SO3)3). The doped samples have been identified by m-Ut(350)nEu(CF3SO3)3 and d-Ut(300)nEu(CF3SO3), where n is the molar ratio of (OCH2CH2) repeat units per Eu3+ ion. Materials with n ranging from ∞ to 5 have been analyzed. The spectral data obtained provide evidence that the cations
begin to coordinate to the ether oxygen atoms of the oligopolymer chains at n=40 in the mono-urethanesils and at n=10 in the
di-urethanesils. In mono-urethanesils samples with n>40 and in di-urethanesils materials with n>10, the Eu3+ coordinate exclusively to the carbonyl oxygen atoms of the urethane linkages.

A method is described for the determination of clomazone residues in surface water by high-performance liquid chromatography with UV detection. The method involves solid-phase extraction with C18 extraction tubes. Clomazone was separated on a C18 column with a mobile phase of methanol-water (65:35, v/v) at pH 4.0 and a flow-rate of 1.0 ml/min. After optimization of the extraction and separation conditions, the method was validated. The method developed can be used for determination of clomazone in surface water, at the limit of 0.1 mcirog/l set by the European Union drinking water directive, with a 400-fold preconcentration. 相似文献

A new Li-containing quaternary nitride, Li4Sr3Ge2N6, was obtained as single crystals from constituent elements in molten Na. It crystallizes in space group C2/m (No. 12) with a=6.1398(7) Å, b=10.021(1) Å, c=6.3130(7) Å, β=91.279(2)°, and Z=2. It contains the first example of isolated nitridogermanate anions of Ge2N610−, which is also the first example of edge-sharing tetrahedral [GeN4]. 相似文献

Eventually, we observed the appearance of two anisochronous resonances, with a relatively large separation, from 37 to 56 Hz, corresponding to the formation of the diastereomeric complexes. In solid tumors the predominant genetic mechanism for oncogene activation is through amplification of genes. The HER-2 (also known as ErbB2/c-erbB2/HER-2/neu) oncogene is the most frequently amplified oncogene in breast cancer and is also commonly amplified in other forms of cancer. Alongside its important role in tumor induction, growth and progression, HER-2 is also a target for a new form of chemotherapy. Since 1998, breast cancer patients have been treated with considerable success with Herceptin (trastuzumab), a recombinant antibody designed to block signaling through the HER-2 receptor. In addition to Herceptin, a large number of various HER-2 directed immunological and genetic approaches, either targeting the HER-2 receptor, its signaling pathways or both HER-2 and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) together, have demonstrated promising pre-clinical potential towards HER-2 amplified carcinomas. Moreover, the HER-2 amplicon contains other genes with altered copy numbers that could be used as targets for chemotherapy. The topoisomerase IIalpha (topoIIalpha) gene (TOP2A) is located adjacent to the HER-2 oncogene at the chromosome location 17q12-q21 and is either amplified or deleted, with equal frequency, in almost 90% of HER-2 amplified primary breast tumors. Recent data suggest that amplification or deletion of TOP2A may account for both sensitivity or resistance to topoII-inhibitor-chemotherapy, depending on the specific genetic defect at the TOP2A locus. The understanding of HER-2 amplification and its role in the pathogenesis of cancer is expanding. The number of therapeutic strategies targeting HER-2 signaling pathways will most probably be introduced in the treatment of HER-2 amplified tumors within the next few years. Combining HER-2 targeting therapies with conventional forms of cytotoxic chemotherapy, where additional diagnostics tests such as those ascertaining topoIIalpha status, may be helpful for the ideal selection of patients for the combination therapy of a HER-2 targeting drug together with a cytotoxic drug. The clinical and therapeutic importance of the HER-2 and TOPO2A status of tumor cells in cancer management will only increase within the next few years. 相似文献
