Nanoparticles of complex manganites (viz. LaMnO3, La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 and La0.67Ca{0.33}MnO3) have been synthesized using the reverse micellar route. These manganites are prepared at 800‡C and the monophasic nature
of all the oxides has been established by powder X-ray diffraction studies. TEM studies show an average grain size of 68,
80 and 50 nm for LaMnO3, La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 and La0.67Ca{0.33}MnO3respectively. Ferromagnetic ordering is observed at around 250 K for LaMnO3, 350 K for La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 and 200 K for La0.67Ca{0.33}MnO3. These Curie temperatures correspond well with those reported for bulk materials with similar composition. 相似文献

Maize starch was modified by allyl chloride adopting an interfacial reaction technique with cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide as a phase‐transfer catalyst and pyridine as an acid acceptor. The degree of substitution was determined from an increasing carbon content of the modified starch. The percentage of carbon and hydrogen of the allyl‐modified starch was estimated by elemental analysis (C, H, and N), and the product characterization was done through 1H NMR and 13C NMR analyses. The allyl‐modified starch was then copolymerized with methacrylic acid and a combination of methacrylic acid and acrylamide at 50 and 70 °C with potassium persulfate as an initiator. The copolymer thus formed swelled in distilled water after neutralization with sodium carbonate. The percentage of absorption capacity of the hydrogels was determined with distilled water and 0.9% NaCl solution. The highest percentage of absorption, 6500%, was achieved for the developed hydrogel containing allyl starch and acrylic monomer in a 1.7:1 w/w ratio and acrylic monomer, namely, methacrylic acid and acrylamide in a 3.2:1 w/w ratio. The study on biodegradability of the developed hydrogel showed that the hydrogel is degradable in the presence of diastase (amylase). © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A dry media procedure has been developed for the synthesis of a series of new class of pyrazolo [4,3-c][1,5]benzothiazepines 6 under microwave irradiation using montmorillonite K10 as solid support. The catalyst can be recovered and reused. Thus, the procedure provides a simple and green synthetic methodology under environmentally friendly conditions. We examine the algebra of the nonlocal charges in the supersymmetric nonlinear σ model and show that they satisfy a nonlinear algebra at the tree-level. We also discuss other interesting questions like the transformation of these charges under a supersymmetry transformation and speculate that this algebra possibly continues to hold in the full quantum theory. 相似文献

We report structural as well as optical studies on Si/Ge bilayer structures having different individual layer thicknesses. The Raman spectrum of [Ge (5 nm)/Si (5 nm)] bilayer structure shows amorphous nature, while the [Si (5 nm)/Ge (5 nm)] bilayer structure shows a mixed nanocrystalline/amorphous behaviour of the layers. As the thickness of the individual layers increases to 10 nm, the introduction of large number of Si atoms at the interface results in reduction of Ge crystallization as well as higher intensity of interfacial SiGe alloy formation. This may be regarded as a consequence of the island growth induced surface roughening in the later case (i.e. in [Si (10 nm)/Ge (10 nm)] bilayer) as also revealed by corresponding atomic force microscopy (AFM) images. These results are also supported by Photoluminescence (PL) spectra recorded using two different photon energies of 300 and 488 nm along with the optical absorption measurements giving higher values of band gap as compared to their corresponding bulks, revealing the effect of quantum confinement in the deposited layers. 相似文献

Interaction of bacteria with citrate‐reduced silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) of size 25 nm ± 8.5 nm is studied using Raman spectroscopy in conjunction with plasmon resonance imaging of single bacterial cells. Distribution of isolated nanoparticles (NPs) inside Escherichia coli (ATCC 25922; E. coli) is observed by hyperspectral imaging (HSI) as a function of incubation time. Time‐dependent degradation of bacterial DNA upon incubation of AgNPs with E. coli is proven by Raman spectroscopic studies. While attachment of NPs is evident in HSI, molecular changes are evident from the surface‐enhanced Raman spectra of adsorbed DNA and its fragments. Distinct enhancement of DNA features is observed upon interaction of AgNPs and the number of such distinct features increases with incubation time, reaches a maximum, and decreases afterwards. This systematic interaction of DNA with the NPs system and its gradual chemical evolution is proven by investigating isolated plasmid DNA. A comparative Raman study with silver ions has shown that DNA features are observable only when bacteria are incubated with AgNPs. Energetics of interaction examined with microcalorimetry suggests the exothermicity of ?1.547 × 1010 cal mol?1 for the NP–bacteria system. Specific interaction of AgNPs with exocyclic nitrogen present in the bases, adenine, guanine, and cytosine, leads to the changes in DNA. 相似文献

The stability of regioregular poly(3-hexylthiophene 2,5-diyl) (P3HT) thin films sandwiched between indium tin oxide (ITO)
and aluminium (Al) electrodes have been investigated under normal environmental conditions (25°C and RH∼45–50%). Electrical
and optical properties of ITO/P3HT/Al devices have been studied over a period of 30 days. Mobility μ of the order of 10−4 cm2/V-s has been obtained from the V
2 law in the as-deposited P3HT films. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) investigations show blistering of Al contacts in devices
with a poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) interlayer on application of voltage whereas no blistering is seen in devices
without PEDOT. The results have been explained in terms of trap generation and propagation and the moisture-absorbing nature
of PEDOT.

Nickel zinc ferrite nanoparticles NixZn1−xFe2O4 (x=0.1, 0.3, 0.5) have been synthesized by a chemical co-precipitation method. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, electron paramagnetic resonance, dc magnetization and ac susceptibility measurements. The X-ray diffraction patterns confirm the synthesis of single crystalline NixZn1−xFe2O4 nanoparticles. The lattice parameter decreases with increase in Ni content resulting in a reduction in lattice strain. Similarly crystallite size increases with the concentration of Ni. The magnetic measurements show the superparamagnetic nature of the samples for x=0.1 and 0.3 whereas for x=0.5 the material is ferromagnetic. The saturation magnetization is 23.95 emu/g and increases with increase in Ni content. The superparamagnetic nature of the samples is supported by the EPR and ac susceptibility measurement studies. The blocking temperature increases with Ni concentration. The increase in blocking temperature is explained by the redistribution of the cations on tetrahedral (A) and octahedral (B) sites. 相似文献
