To provide a satisfactory basic understanding of the solvent effect of plasma-initiated polymerization, we have carried out several kinds of polymerizations of various water-soluble vinyl monomers. It has been shown that aqueous solution of such vinyl monomers underwent the polymerizations induced by methyl isobutyrate (MIB) plasma-exposed glass surface. The invisible ultrathin polymer film trapping an active radical species deposited on the plasma-exposed glass surface apparently induced the polymerizations. The efficiency, however, was largely dependent on the solvent used: the solvent can be considered to act as “an initiation-activator” for the lifelike postpolymerization. The nature of the solvent effect was ascribed to the physicomechanical property such as swelling ability and/or solubility toward the ultrathin film formed on the glass surface. Thus it has been suggested that the choice of good-balanced combination between the structural feature of the plasma-induced ultrathin polymer film and the solvent as an initiation-activator is important to achieve activity of a desired solution polymerization. 相似文献

A highly sensitive method for the quantitative determination of 2,6-dimethy-4-(3-nitrophenyl)-1,4-dihydropyridine-3,5-dicarboxylic acid 3-[2-(N-benzyl-N-methyl-amino)]-ethyl ester 5-methyl ester hydrochloride (YC-93) in plasma is described. After extraction, YC-93 was oxidized to pyridine analogue with nitrous acid and detected by electron capture gas chromatography. The sensitivity was 2–3 ng/ml, which is suficient to determine plasma concentrations of YC-93 after oral administration of clinical doses to humans. 相似文献

The mitogenicity and lethal toxicity of chemically synthesized lipid A analogs, in which 2,3-acyloxyacylglucosamine-4-phosphate (acyl-GlcN-4P) is linked to a tetraacetyl (Ac4)-monosaccharide, i.e., Ac4-glucose (A-211), Ac4-mannose (A-212), Ac4-galactose (A-213) or Ac4-glucosamine (A-214), were compared with those of tetraacetyl-3-deoxy-D-manno-2-octulosonic acid (Ac4-KDO) linked to acyl-GlcN-4P (A-203). All the compounds were capable of increasing incorporation of 3H-thymidine into splenocytes of C57BL/6 mice at doses of 50 and 100 micrograms/ml, but the mitogenic activity of A-203 at these doses seems to be stronger than those of the analogs. Intravenous injection of A-203, A-211, and A-213 did not exhibit lethal toxicity even at a high dose (50 micrograms/mouse) in C57BL/6 mice loaded with D-galactosamine hydrochloride. However, A-212 and A-214 showed lethality at the doses of 10 and 50 micrograms/mouse, respectively. The findings indicate that the biological activity of these compounds is affected by the kind of monosaccharide linked to acyl-GlcN-4P. 相似文献

Optical properties of an ultraviolet-absorbing substance (UVAS) extracted from the marine red alga, Porphyra yezoensis, have been investigated. The substance is excited by UV light, and the emitted fluorescence is detected using an intelligent fluorescence detector. The fluorescence of UVAS is weaker by four orders of magnitude than the fluorescence intensity emitted by anthracene in the same optical system. The absorbed energy is apparently not transferred to the photosynthesis process and is believed to be consumed as heat. Using photothermal spectroscopy, a signal is observed indicating that the absorbed photon energy has transferred to the heat. The waveform of the photothermal signal of UVAS is similar to that of quinoxaline, whose fluorescence quantum yield is known to be zero. It is determined that the fluorescence quantum yield and the energy of the triplet state of UVAS are 1.7 ± 0.7 ± 10−4 and 21000 ± 1000 cm −1, respectively. The conclusion is that the excited molecules of UVAS decay by passing through the triplet state and dissipate all absorbed energy as heat. 相似文献

Abstract Continuous flames have been observed in Supercritical water oxidation (scWO) of isopropyl alcohol (IPA), using a vertical continuous reactor with sapphire windows and a mixing nozzle. Two types of continuous flame were confirmed: the one was long pale blue colored and the other was red short cone shaped, changing blue to red at around air ratio 2.0. The flame was strongly influenced by IPA concentration, air ratio and design of the mixing nozzle. Results for decomposition of PA are presented for IPA concentrations ranging from 600 up to 28260 ppm as TOC and initial reactor temperatures, were mostly around 490°C, at 25 MPa. Decomposition rate at steady state was over 99.9%. Experimentally measured CO2 and O2 concentrations at the flue gas were in good agreement with theoretically calculated values. Even for low air ratio as 1.1, high decomposition rate without CO, NO, NO2 was achieved. 相似文献

We report on the observation of doubly charged helium ions produced by a nonlinear interaction between a helium atom and photons with a photon energy of 42 eV which are generated with the 27th harmonic of a femtosecond pulse from a Ti:sapphire laser. The number of ions is proportional to the square of the intensity of the 27th harmonic pulse, and thus two-photon double ionization should be dominantly induced as compared with other nonlinear processes accompanying sequential ionization via a singly charged ion. This phenomenon is utilized to measure the pulse duration of the 27th harmonic pulse by using an autocorrelation technique, for the first time to our knowledge, and as a result a duration of 8 fs is found. 相似文献

We have observed Bragg scattering of photons from quantum degenerate ^{87}Rb atoms in a three-dimensional optical lattice. Bragg scattered light directly probes the microscopic crystal structure and atomic wave function whose position and momentum width is Heisenberg limited. The spatial coherence of the wave function leads to revivals in the Bragg scattered light due to the atomic Talbot effect. The decay of revivals across the superfluid to Mott insulator transition indicates the loss of superfluid coherence. 相似文献

A new low-coherence interferometric technique is proposed for measuring the group refractive indices of dispersive samples with high accuracy. A tandem configuration of interferometers is used to compensate for the asymmetrical distortion of interferograms that results from the broad spectrum of the light source. The group refractive index can be measured without knowledge of the geometrical thickness of the sample under test. The proposed technique can successfully measure even a thick sample. Computer calculations have shown the effectiveness of the proposed technique, which was verified by preliminary experiments; the difference between the experimental result and the catalog data was 7 x 10(-4). 相似文献

A spin-Peierls system (DMe-DCNQI)2Li is studied with W-band electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) ( approximately 94 GHz) to unveil a charge transport mechanism in the insulating 4k(F) charge density wave state above T(SP). The electron hopping between the neighbor DCNQI columns provides an additional broadening of the EPR linewidth, since the neighbor columns are generally nonequivalent to each other with respect to g shift. The obtained intercolumn hopping rates lead us to the conclusion that the electron hopping to a hole soliton carrying a fractional charge of e / 2 in the neighbor column dominates the intercolumn charge transport. 相似文献

The ultrathin oxidation of a H/Si(1 0 0) surface with microfabricated pn-junctions was studied by photoemission electron microscopy (PEEM), mirror electron microscopy (MEM) and microscopic X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (μ-XPS). The ultrathin oxidation inverts the contrast of the junctions in PEEM images. It is found by analyzing the intensity profiles of images that the potential distribution across the pn-junctions is also inverted by the oxidation. The charging of the oxide by ultraviolet irradiation from a light source of PEEM is attributed as the cause of the inversion of the contrast shown by μ-XPS and MEM. 相似文献
