We present a new environment for computations in particle physics phenomenology employing recent developments in cloud computing. On this environment users can create and manage “virtual” machines on which the phenomenology codes/tools can be deployed easily in an automated way. We analyze the performance of this environment based on “virtual” machines versus the utilization of physical hardware. In this way we provide a qualitative result for the influence of the host operating system on the performance of a representative set of applications for phenomenology calculations.  相似文献

The present work is a generalization of the recent work [arXiv.1206.1420] on the modified Hawking temperature on the event horizon. Here the Hawking temperature is generalized by multiplying the modified Hawking temperature by a variable parameter \(\alpha \) representing the ratio of the growth rate of the apparent horizon to that of event horizon. It is found that both the first and the generalized second law of thermodynamics are valid on the event horizon for any fluid distribution. Subsequently, the Bekenstein entropy is modified on the event horizon and the thermodynamical laws are examined. Finally, an interpretation of the parameters involved is presented.  相似文献

Esculetin ( 1 ) and the novel compounds 5-chloroesculetin ( 5 ) and 5-bromoesculetin ( 6 ) were obtained from a light-induced cyclization of trans-caffeic acid ( 3 ) catalyzed by [FeNa(edta)] and/or H2SO4, HCI, or HBr (Scheme 1). The experimental conditions for trans-cis-isomerization of the cinnamic-acid derivative 3 and subsequent non-enzymatic cyclization were described. The photoperiod and the presence of air and iron-chelate catalyst are shown to be important parameters that markedly affect yields. The reactions probably occur by a free-radical mechanism involving a photo-initiated one-electron redox process (Scheme 2).  相似文献

A DNA biosensor was constructed by immobilizing DNA on a glassy carbon (GC) electrode modified with multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) dispersed in Nafion (DNA/MWNTs/GCE). The DNA-modified electrode exhibited two well-defined oxidation peaks corresponding to the guanine and adenine residues of DNA, respectively. The effects of the adsorption potential, DNA concentration and quantity of MWNTs used for DNA immobilization were investigated, as were the effects of buffer, pH and scan rate on the voltammetric behavior of DNA. Phenol, m-cresol and catechol showed noticeable inhibition towards the response of the electrode due to their interactions with DNA. These findings were used to design biosensors with linear response to these phenolic pollutants.  相似文献

Abstract

This study, was to evaluate the acaricidal effect of the essential oil (EO) and fractions (FR) obtained from Laurus nobilis leaves on Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus. Eight fractions were obtained, however FR1: sabinene (37.83%), β-pinene (13.50%), 1,8-cineole (12.66%), α-pinene (12.56%) and FR8: α-terpineol (79.19%) were highlighted as to the larvicidal potential when submitted by Larval Packet Test. The EO was tested by the Adult Immersion Test, at concentrations of 200.00; 100.00 and 50.00?µL/mL caused mortality of engorged females, egg mass reduction and hatching inhibition. Two fractions are shown to be efficient in controlling larvae FR8 (LC50?=?0.13?µL/mL, LC99?=?0.51?µL/mL) and FR1 (LC50?=?0.20?µL/mL, LC99?=?0.56?µL/mL). The fractionation of EO was determinant to elucidate which compounds were responsible for the larvicidal potential. This study opens new perspectives to direct new bioassays with the compounds obtained in the fractionation, since they present high potential on cattle tick larvae.  相似文献

Hollow fiber liquid-phase microextraction and CE were applied for the determination of albendazole sulfoxide (ASOX) enantiomers in liquid culture medium after a fungal biotransformation study. The analytes were extracted from 1 mL of liquid culture medium spiked with the internal standard (rac-hydroxychloroquine) and buffered with 0.50 mol/L phosphate buffer, pH 10. The analytes were extracted into 1-octanol impregnated in the pores of the hollow fiber, and into an acid acceptor solution inside the polypropylene hollow fiber. The electrophoretic separations were carried out in 0.05 mol/L tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane buffer, pH 9.3, containing 3.0% w/v sulfated-β-CD (S-β-CD) with a constant voltage of +15 kV and detection at 220 nm. The method was linear over the concentration range of 250-5000 ng/mL for each ASOX enantiomer. Within-day and between-day assay precision and accuracy for the analytes were studied at three concentration levels and the values of RSD% and relative error % were lower than 15%. The developed method was applied for the determination of ASOX after a biotransformation study employing the endophytic fungus Penicillium crustosum (VR4). This study showed that the endophytic fungus was able to metabolize the albendazole to ASOX enantioselectively. In addition, it was demonstrated that hollow fiber liquid-phase microextraction coupled to CE can be an excellent and environmentally friendly technique for the analysis of samples obtained in biotransformation studies.  相似文献
