The aim of the paper is to study a collocation spectral methodto approximate the Navier-Stokes equations: only one grid isused, which is built from the nodes of a Gauss-Lobatto quadratureformula, either of Legendre or of Chebyshev type. The convergenceis proved for the Stokes problem provided with inhomogeneusDirichlet conditions, then thoroughly analysed for the Navier-Stokesequations. Close-coupling scattering calculations have been carried out to predict the magnitude of electric fields required to dissociate specific vibration—rotation levels in H+ 2. Results for electric fields up to 40 kV cm?1, which may dissociate levels up to 25 cm?1 below the dissociation limit, are presented. The results are used to simulate spectra which are compared with experimental spectra. A method for extracting the eigenphase sum from a coupled channel scattering calculation is described in the appendix and used in the calculations.  相似文献

Abstract This study adds a cost analysis of the Eastern Baltic cod fishery to the existing model presented in Röckmann et al. [2007a] . As cost data on this international fishery do not exist, data from Denmark are extrapolated to the whole international fishery. Additionally, unit and total variable costs are simulated, and the sensitivity to a set of different cost–stock and cost–output elasticities is tested. The study supports preliminary conclusions that a temporary marine reserve policy, which focuses on protecting the Eastern Baltic cod spawning stock in the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) subdivision 25, is a valuable fisheries management tool to (i) rebuild the overexploited Eastern Baltic cod stock and (ii) increase operating profits. The negative effects of climate change can be postponed for at least 20 years—depending on the assumed rate of future climate change. Including costs in the economic analysis does not change the ranking of management policies as proposed in the previous study where costs were neglected.  相似文献

ABSTRACT. . The population dynamics of the Eastern Baltic cod (Gadus morhua callarias L.), unlike many other stocks, shows a strong dependency on environmental conditions. To test the implications of different management policies on the stock and the fishery in a system of global environmental change, we apply a spatially disaggregated, discrete time, age‐structured model of the Eastern Baltic cod stock in 50 year simulation analyses. The simulation provides an analysis of stock, yield, and revenue development under various management policies and environmental scenarios. The policy analysis, focusing on different regulations of fishing mortality, is embedded into three environmental scenarios, assuming low, medium, or high climate and environmental change. The environmental assumptions are based on simulation results from a coupled atmosphere‐ocean regional climate model, which project salinity in the Baltic Sea to decrease by 7–47% in the period 2071–2100 relative to the reference period 1961 1990. Our simulation results show that a significant reduction in fishing mortality is necessary for achieving high long‐term economic yields. Moreover, under the environmental scenarios presented, a stock collapse cannot be prevented. It can, however, be postponed by the establishment of a marine reserve in ICES subdivision 25.  相似文献

In a stream cipher a cryptogram is produced from a binary datastream by modulo-2-adding it to a keystream sequence. The securityof the system relies on the inability of an interceptor to determinethis keystream sequence. One obvious requirement for such asystem is that there should be sufficiently many possibilitiesfor the keystream sequence that the interceptor cannot possiblytry them all. In this paper we consider the likelihood of an interceptor beingable to decipher the cryptogram correctly even though he maybe trying the wrong keystream sequence. This possibility arisesbecause the length of any particular message is likely to beconsiderably shorter than the period of the keystream sequence,and thus only a comparatively small section of the keystreamsequence is used. Hence, if the interceptor tries a sequencewhich intersects (i.e. agrees) with the keystream sequence inthe appropriate positions, he will deduce the message correctly. A number of the standard methods for generating keystream sequencesuse shift registers as ‘building blocks’. So welook in considerable detail at the number of intersections (ofvarious lengths) for sequences generated by two different shiftregisters. We also show that if a keystream sequence has linearequivalence n, then the local linear equivalence of any subsequenceof length at least 2n is n. This means that if the message haslength at least 2n and the keystream sequence has linear equivalencen, then there is no other sequence of linear equivalence lessthan n+1 which can be used to decipher correctly.  相似文献

The Saint Francis College chemistry club has been invigorated through the use of a service oriented outreach program, Rural Outreach Chemistry for Kids (R.O.C.K.). The R.O.C.K. program has been in operation for approximately two years and we have reached over 600 K–12 students through a number of outreach activities, both on and off campus. The focus of the R.O.C.K. program is to have the K–12 students actively involved in the presentation that are organized and run by the St. Francis College Chemistry Club members.  相似文献
