The gas‐transport properties of poly[2,6‐toluene‐2,2‐bis(3,4‐dicarboxylphenyl)hexafluoropropane diimide] (6FDA‐2,6‐DAT) have been investigated. The sorption behavior of dense 6FDA‐2,6‐DAT membranes is well described by the dual‐mode sorption model and has certain relationships with the critical temperatures of the penetrants. The solubility coefficient decreases with an increase in either the pressure or temperature. The temperature dependence of the diffusivity coefficient increases with an increase in the penetrant size, as the order of the activation energy for the diffusion jump is CH4 > N2 > O2 > CO2. Also, the average diffusion coefficient increases with increasing pressure for all the gases tested. As a combined contribution from sorption and diffusion, permeability decreases with increases in the pressure and the kinetic diameter of the penetrant molecules. Even up to 32.7 atm, no plasticization phenomenon can be observed on flat dense 6FDA‐2,6‐DAT membranes from their permeability–pressure curves. However, just as for other gases, the absolute value of the heat of sorption of CO2 decreases with increasing pressure at a low‐pressure range, but the trend changes when the feed pressure is greater than 10 atm. This implies that CO2‐induced plasticization may occur and reduce the positive enthalpy required to create a site into which a penetrant can be sorbed. Therefore, a better diagnosis of the inherent threshold pressure for the plasticization of a glassy polymer membrane may involve examining the absolute value of the heat of sorption as a function of pressure and identifying the turning point at which the gradient of the absolute value of the heat of sorption against pressure turns from a negative value to a positive one. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The chemometric calibration performance was systematically investigated by two parameters (changing the chemical matrix as well as the signal-to-noise ratio) of the NIR (near-infrared) spectrum. Three different analytes (hexane, cyclohexane, toluene) were selected and heptane was used as a solvent. The degree of spectral difference significantly affected the calibration performance. The largest structural difference between the analyte and the solvent provided the best calibration result for a given signal-to-noise ratio. Additionally, the signal-to-noise ratio of the spectra also directly influenced the calibration performance. Overall, the spectral difference and signal-to-noise ratio were the major factors for governing the chemometric calibration performance, especially in the low-concentration range. 相似文献

This work is to make carbon nanotubes dispersible in both water and organic solvents without oxidation and cutting nanotube threads. Polystyrene‐singlewall carbon nanotube (PS‐SWNT) composites were prepared with three different methods: miniemulsion polymerization, conventional emulsion polymerization, and mixing SWNT with PS latex. The two factors, crosslinking and surface coverage of PS are important factors for the mechanical and electrical properties, including dispersion states of SWNT in various solvents. The PS‐SWNT composite prepared via a conventional emulsion polymerization showed SWNT bundles entirely covered with PS, whereas the PS‐SWNT composite prepared via a miniemulsion polymerization showed SWNT partially covered with crosslinked PS nanoparticles. The method of mixing SWNTs with PS latex did not show the well dispersed state of carbon nanotubes because PS was not crosslinked and was dissolved in a solvent, and nanotubes separated from PS precipitated. So the PS nanoparticle‐SWNT composite had lower electrical resistance, and higher mechanical strength than the other composites made by the latter two methods. As the amount of SWNT increases, the bare surface area of SWNT increases and the electrical conductivity increases in the composite made by the miniemulsion polymerization. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Summary The enthalpimetric determination of a series of bases by using the reaction of the bases and sodium tetraphenylboron is described. The accuracy of the method is analytically acceptable, over the range 3×10–5 moles to 7.5×10–4 moles. The upper limit is determined by the bulk of the precipitate.Dosage forms of some physiologically active alkaloids contain more than the upper limit of analyte. Yet, preliminary investigations using silicotungstic acid indicate that this is suitable for thermometric titrations.

Zusammenfassung Die enthalpimetrische Bestimmung einiger N-haltiger Basen erfolgte aufgrund der Reaktion mit Natriumtetraphenyloborat. Die Genauigkeit ist im Bereich von 3 · 10–5-7,5 · 10–4 Mol befriedigend. Eine obere Grenze der Anwendbarkeit ergibt sich aus der Menge des anfallenden Niederschlags. Diese wird bei der Bestimmung von Formulierungen einiger physiologisch aktiver Alkaloide überschritten. Jedoch ist in diesem Fall eine thermometrische Titration mit Hilfe von Silicowolframsäure möglich.

We have recorded extremely weak absorption in the overtone band 5-0 of 12C16O X 1sigma+ near 0.96 microm with cavity ringdown spectroscopy; the light source was a Raman-shifted dye laser pumped with a frequency-doubled Nd:YAG laser. This band shows lines in branch P to be much more intense than corresponding lines in branch R, in contrast to all lower overtone bands v-0 (v = 1-4). This reversal in relative intensity is explained quantitatively in terms of a radial function for the electric dipolar moment of CO. We have estimated absorption line strengths for P3-P18 in band 5-0 of 12C16O; these strengths are consistent with a pure vibrational matrix element <5/p(x)/0> = (3.6 +/- 0.3) x 10(-36) C m of the electric dipolar moment p(x), a Herman-Wallis coefficient C0(5) of about -0.1, and a band strength of (5.1 +/- 1.3) x 10(-29) m at 293 K. 相似文献

Electrolytic pickling of steel with neutral solutions, to remove the surface scale, reduces the need for the use of strong acids as needed in conventional pickling. This study is a step towards a more in-depth understanding of the factors affecting the former process. A theoretical model, sufficiently simplified to allow analytical solution, is developed and evaluated to provide a first approximation of the potential and current distributions in the electrolyte and steel band. To gain knowledge and validate the model, a small electrolytic pickling cell is constructed, and experiments, including bubble generation and motion observation, are conducted. The experimental work has shown the remarkable bubble production and adherence to the surfaces, and its effects on reducing pickling efficiency and uniformity. The pickling efficiency is about 30%, confirming other researchers" results. The analytical model shows trends very similar to those observed in the experiments, and provides very valuable guidance. It shows, for example, that the current efficiency decreases as the electrode–band distance increases, and it increases with the band thickness and the band-to-electrolyte conductivity ratio. The energy efficiency decreases by orders of magnitude faster than the current efficiency with all of the above-mentioned parameters, because of the correspondingly strong drop in the band–surface potential. The use of the technique of solution thermochemistry is proposed for the rapid assay for quality control and quality assurance of dosage amounts of some ethical formulations of some antimalarial drugs. The active ingredients are chloroquine, hydroxychloroquine, dapsone, proguanil hydrochloride, and pyrimethamine.Assay is done without the separation of the excipients and without isolation or derivatisation of the analytes. The titrations are done in glacial acetic acid and utilise the catalysed hydrolysis of acetic anhydride by perchloric acid to indicate the endpoint of the reactions.The time taken for a typical assay, of a typical dosage amount is about 3–5 minutes. The reproducibility is of the order of 1% for the milligramme amounts of analyte present in the dosage amounts of the drugs.

Zusammenfassung Es wird die Anwendung eines lösungsthermochemischen Verfahrens zu Schnellbestimmungen bei der Qualitätskontrolle und — sicherung von Wirkstoffeinsatzmengen einiger rezeptpflichtiger Präparate von einigen antimalarischen Arzneimitteln empfohlen. Die aktiven Bestandteile sind Chloroquin, Hydroxychloroquin, Dapson, Proguanilhydrochlorid und Pyrimethamin.Die Bestimmungen werden ohne jegliche Abtrennung der Bindestoffe und ohne Isolierung oder Derivatisierung der zu bestimmenden Substanzen durchgeführt. Die Titrierungen werden in Eisessig durchgeführt und bedienen sich der katalytischen Hydrolyse von Essigsäureanhydrid durch Perchlorsäure als Endpunktindikation der Reaktion.Die Dauer für eine typische Probe bei einer typischen Wirkstoffmenge beträgt etwa 3–5 Minuten. Die Reproduzierbarkeit liegt in der Größenordnung von 1% für Milligrammengen der zu analysierenden Stoffe im Arzneimittel.

A Chelex-100 resin column has been employed for the preliminary concentration of trace elements in water samples before their determination by neutron-activation analysis. The column, filled with a 1:1 mixture of the resin (50-100 mesh) and Pyrex glass powder of the same mesh-size, is shown to maintain a constant flow-rate and give reproducible results. By a combination of preconcentration and neutron-activation analysis it is possible to determine Ba, Ca, Cd, Ce, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, La, Mg, Mn, Sc, U, V and Zn in sea-water and/or fresh water simultaneously at the parts per milliard level. 相似文献
