Using diffusion Monte Carlo simulations we have investigated the ground state of a symmetric electron-hole bilayer and determined its phase diagram at T = 0. We find clear evidence of an excitonic condensate, whose stability however is affected by an in-layer electronic correlation. This stabilizes the electron-hole plasma at large values of the density or interlayer distance, and the Wigner crystal at low density and large distance. We have also estimated pair correlation functions and low-order density matrices to give a microscopic characterization of correlations as well as to try and estimate the condensate fraction. 相似文献

Summary The performance of annular denuders coated with 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine for collection of atmospheric HCHO has been evaluated
by HPLC/UV analysis of samples coming from laboratory tests and field experiments. A number of parameters, such as collection
efficiency at varying air humidity, detection limit, operative capacity and temporal self-consistency have been investigated
to optimize the denuder behaviour under different weather conditions and to obtain short-term concentration profiles of HCHO.
Deviations between measurements made simultaneously by the DNPH denuder method and differential optical absorption spectrometry

Ethyl- and propyl-prism[6]arenes are obtained in high yields and in short reaction times, independent of the nature and size of the solvent, in the cyclization of 2,6-dialkoxynaphthalene with paraformaldehyde. PrS[6]Et or PrS[6]nPr adopt, both in solution and in the solid state, a folded cuboid-shaped conformation, in which four inward oriented alkyl chains fill the cavity of the macrocycle. On these bases, we proposed that the cyclization of PrS[6]Et or PrS[6]nPr occurs through an intramolecular thermodynamic self-templating effect. In other words, the self-filling of the internal cavity of PrS[6]Et or PrS[6]nPr stabilizes their cuboid structure, driving the equilibrium toward their formation. Molecular recognition studies, both in solution and in the solid state, show that the introduction of guests into the macrocycle cavity forces the cuboid scaffold to open, through an induced-fit mechanism. An analogous conformational change from a closed to an open state occurs during the endo-cavity complexation process of the pentamer, PrS[5]. Ozone in ambient air is collected onto silica gel cartridges impregnated with pentafluorophenylhydrazine (PFPH) and 1,2-di(4-pyridyl)ethylene (DPE), so that the pyridine-4 aldehyde formed by DPE oxidation is converted into the corresponding PFPH derivative (PPH). The latter product is determined by HRGC/MS. Since the ozonolysis reaction proceeds stoichiometrically on the cartridge, there is no need for calibration in the gas phase with a standardized ozone source. When compared with UV photometry analyzers, this active chromatographic method (ACM) demonstrates a very good accuracy (ACM/UV photometer = 0.97) and precision (12.0–14.0%) under both laboratory and field sampling conditions at ozone concentrations of 20–200 μg m–3 and exposure times of 1–3 h. The sampling performance was found to be insensitive to relative humidity (r.h.) variations in the 25–90% range and any interference effects could not be observed from various agents, except light, which can be eliminated by using an aluminium shelter. The detection limit for ozone achievable with the ACM in air samples collected at 0.5 L min–1 for 1 h was found better than 0.5 μg m–3. 相似文献

ABSTRACTWe study the effect of the external electric field Fext on the low-temperature electron mobility μ in an asymmetrically doped AlxGa1-xAs based V-shaped double quantum well (VDQW) structure. We show that nonlinearity of µ occurs under double subband occupancy on account of intersubband effects. The field Fext alters the VDQW potential leading to transfer of subband wave functions between the wells, which affects the scattering potentials and hence μ. In the VDQW structure, due to the alloy channel layer, the alloy disorder (Al-) scattering happens to be significant along with the ionised impurity (Imp-) scattering. The non-linear behaviour of μ is because of μImp, while the overall magnitude of μ is mostly due to μAl. The increase of difference in the doping concentrations of the outer barriers increases the nonlinearity of μ. The oscillatory character of μ is amended by varying the width of the well and barrier and also the height of the VDQW. Our results can be used to study VDQW based nanoscale field effect transistor structures. 相似文献
