The potential energy surface of He2Ne+ has been reinvestigated using a combination of ab initio and diatomics-in-molecule (DIM) calculations. In contrast to the reports of two recent studies the ion is found to have an asymmetric linear He-Ne-He structure, with no barrier to formation from the separated atoms on the ground-state surface. The He-Ne+ bond lengths at the potential minimum are 1.51 and 1.81 A, and the total bonding energy is 0.717 eV. Comparing the He2Ne+ energy to that of HeNe+, the bonding energy for the second helium atom is 0.06 eV, about 10% of that of the first He atom. The saddle point between the two equivalent minima is a symmetric structure, 0.0074 eV above the potential minimum. A symmetric geometry becomes the overall potential minimum if the 2s hole on the Ne is excluded from the reference states of a multireference configuration interaction calculation. A DIM potential was created for the HenNe+ family of ions. The DIM potential is consistent with the asymmetric He2Ne+ ion serving as a core; it predicts a slightly more asymmetric geometry than the ab initio results. Additional helium atoms form five-membered rings around the bonds of the core ion to fill the first shell and then add to the ends of the cluster. The asymmetric core ion and the highly compact structure help to account for the lack of apparent shell structure in the mass spectrometry of HenNe+ clusters. Finally, we recommend that the value De=0.63+/-0.04 eV be adopted for the ground state of HeNe+.  相似文献

A novel and general synthesis of δ-lactones from glutaraldehyde is described. The dialdehyde is first reacted with an alkyl or substituted alkyl Grignard reagent to afford a δ-hydroxyaldehyde in good yield. These aldehydes exist preferentially in the cyclic hemiacetal form (δ-lactols). Oxidation of the latter compounds to give δ-lactones is readily achieved with silver oxide or bromine. The δ-lactols and δ-lactones serve as intermediates for the total synthesis of steroids.  相似文献

3,5-Bis(2-hydroxyphenyl)-1H-1,2,4-triazole (H2La) and 4-[3,5-bis(2-hydroxyphenyl)-1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl]benzoic acid (H3Lb) have been prepared, and crystal structure of the intermediate 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-4H-1,3-benzoxazin-4-one has been determined. Temperature dependent 1H NMR spectroscopic measurements of H2La indicated dynamic behavior with the equilibrium between the two asymmetric tautomers. For H3Lb, pD-dependent 1H NMR spectroscopic measurements showed small but characteristic shifts in the range of 0 ≤ pD ≤ 1, indicative of a triazole nitrogen atom protonation; the corresponding pK a of 0.98 ± 0.04 was determined by spectrophotometric titrations. (H2O, 26°C, 1 M KCl/HCl). Formation of [FeIII(La)]+ (pH 2.5) and [FeIII(La)2] (pH > 6) was verified by UV-Vis spectroscopy. Complex formation of H3Lb with Al3+ and VO2+ was investigated by 1H NMR spectroscopic titration and cyclic voltammetry, respectively. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are soil contaminants. Because of their high lipophilicity, PAHs are associated with the organic matter in the soil. Transformation of PAHs generates polar metabolites and the interaction with organic matter in the soil changes. The polar PAH metabolites are persistent, highly water-soluble and potentially leachable from the soil; the understanding of transformation of PAHs to polar metabolites in the responsible organisms is of great importance. Here, we present a study of transformation of the PAHs pyrene and phenanthrene, by the common earthworm Eisenia fetida. The study showed that E. fetida in hydroponic culture was able to transform PAHs to conjugated phase II metabolites. We detected phenanthrene and pyrene metabolites with single- and multiple-phase II-conjugated groups. Sulphate conjugates were excreted to experiment water, and glucuronide and glucoside conjugates and metabolites with several hydroxylations and multiple conjugations were detected in worm tissue. The results demonstrate that earthworms are able to transform PAHs to water-soluble phase II metabolites, which can be excreted to the surrounding environment.  相似文献
