Pyridine-2-azo-p-dimethylaniline is suggested as an indicator in the titration of amines (aniline, butylamine, p-phenylenediamine and ethylenediamine) with perchloric acid in glacialacetic acid medium. The precision obtainable is much better than that with crystal violet indicator. The pyridine dye can also be used satisfactorily in the titration of sodium carbonate and sodium acetate.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Conformational analysis of chitosan molecules has been performed using the MM3(92) force field to investigate the role played by the acetamido groups on the stiffness of these chains. A high dielectric constant value was needed to model an aqueous environment and to reproduce the distribution of the N-acetyl glucosamine group orientation that is observed by NMR. Disaccharidic fragments, differently substituted at C2, were selected as models for chitin and chitosan chains. Their conformational space has been explored by means of adiabatic mapping of the glycosidic Φ,Ψ torsion angles. Although the overall features of all the potential energy surfaces created appear similar, the accessible conformational space of a glycosidic bond is affected by the nature of the substituent at C2 on the non-reducing residue of the disaccharide unit. This is illustrated by the differences in the calculated partition functions together with the predicted average homonuclear and heteronuclear coupling constants. Computed maps were used to predict polymeric unperturbed dimensions, characteristic ratio and persistence length of idealized chitin and chitosan chains, by Monte Carlo methods. Pure chitosan is predicted to be more coiled than pure chitin chains. At low N-acetyl group contents, chain extension appears to be dependent on the degree of substitution. Average chain dimensions increase monotonically for increases in content up to 60% of N-acetyl groups, but show no significant variation at higher contents. For molecules consisting of 50% amino and 50% N-acetylated residues, random, alternate and block patterns of substitution have been investigated. It has also been shown that the spatial extension of the polymer chains is dependent on the primary structure. Comparison with the literature experimental data is difficult because of the extreme diversity of the reported conformationally dependent values. However, such study provides a unique insight into the dependence of these two factors (degree of acetylation and distribution of acetyl groups) on the stiffness and flexibility of different chitin and chitosan chains.  相似文献

We report an anomalous swelling of polymer thin films in carbon dioxide (CO(2)) which is associated (in both locus and form) with the density fluctuation ridge that forms along the extension of the coexistence curve of gas and liquid in the P-T phase diagram. Neutron reflectivity results showed that CO(2) could be sorbed to a large extent ( approximately 60%) in thin polymer films even when the bulk miscibility of the polymer with CO(2) is very poor. The anomalous swelling is found to scale with the polymer radius of gyration (R(g)) and extends to a distance approximately 10 R(g).  相似文献

Background  

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the selective loss of motor neurons (MN) in the brain stem and spinal cord. Intracellular disruptions of cytosolic and mitochondrial calcium have been associated with selective MN degeneration, but the underlying mechanisms are not well understood. The present evidence supports a hypothesis that mitochondria are a target of mutant SOD1-mediated toxicity in familial amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (fALS) and intracellular alterations of cytosolic and mitochondrial calcium might aggravate the course of this neurodegenerative disease. In this study, we used a fluorescence charged cool device (CCD) imaging system to separate and simultaneously monitor cytosolic and mitochondrial calcium concentrations in individual cells in an established cellular model of ALS.  相似文献

The dependability of systems and networks has been the target of research for many years now. In the 1970s, what is now known as the top conference on dependability—The IEEE/IFIP International Conference on Dependable Systems and Networks (DSN)—emerged gathering international researchers and sparking the interest of the scientific community. Although it started in niche systems, nowadays dependability is viewed as highly important in most computer systems. The goal of this work is to analyze the research published in the proceedings of well-established dependability conferences (i.e., DSN, International Symposium on Software Reliability Engineering (ISSRE), International Symposium on Reliable Distributed Systems (SRDS), European Dependable Computing Conference (EDCC), Latin-American Symposium on Dependable Computing (LADC), Pacific Rim International Symposium on Dependable Computing (PRDC)), while using Natural Language Processing (NLP) and namely the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) algorithm to identify active, collapsing, ephemeral, and new lines of research in the dependability field. Results show a strong emphasis on terms, like ‘security’, despite the general focus of the conferences in dependability and new trends that are related with ’machine learning’ and ‘blockchain’. We used the PRDC conference as a use case, which showed similarity with the overall set of conferences, although we also found specific terms, like ‘cyber-physical’, being popular at PRDC and not in the overall dataset.  相似文献

Tungsten carbide nanopowder was prepared via pulsed discharge of bulk tungsten and graphite rods immersed in pure ethanol. The effect of discharge parameters on the characteristics of final products was investigated. Structural and morphological characterization of nanopowder was performed by means of X-ray diffraction analysis and transmission electron microscopy. In order to determine the feasibility of using synthesized material as an electrocatalyst, tungsten carbide nanopowder was tested for hydrogen evolution. A correlation was found between morphology of nanoparticles, their phase composition and electrocatalytic activity.  相似文献

The intermediate and forward gamma detectors of EHS are used to reconstructπ°'s produced by 360 GeV/cpp interactions in the Rapid Cycling Bubble Chamber (RCBC).
