When probing nuclear spins in materials on the nanometer scale, random fluctuations of the spin polarization will exceed the mean Boltzmann polarization for sample volumes below about (100 nm){3}. In this Letter, we use magnetic resonance force microscopy to observe nuclear spin fluctuations in real time. We show how reproducible measurements of the polarization variance can be obtained by controlling the spin correlation time and rapidly sampling a large number of independent spin configurations. This allows significant improvement in the signal-to-noise ratio for nanometer-scale magnetic resonance imaging.  相似文献

The results of studies of shallow donors and deep-level color centers in bulk AlN crystals are presented. Two shallow donors (presumably oxygen located on the nitrogen site and carbon located on the aluminum site) are suggested to exhibit the DX-relaxation. Third shallow donor (presumably silicon on the Al site) shows the shallow donor behavior up to the room temperature and can be observed without light excitation at temperatures above 200 K. The values of the Bohr radius of the shallow donors are estimated. The structure of deep-level color centers (neutral nitrogen vacancy V N) in bulk AlN crystals is determined and analyzed by electron paramagnetic resonance, electron-nuclear double resonance, optical absorption and thermoluminescence induced by X-ray irradiation. Spin-dependent recombination processes in AlN crystals are studied by means of optically detected magnetic resonance.  相似文献

The specific features of a phase transition from a disordered orbital state to an ordered orbital state in an La0.875Sr0.125MnO3 single crystal are investigated using acoustic methods at a frequency f = 500 MHz. The phase transition is accompanied by a distortion of MnO6 octahedra due to the cooperative Jahn-Teller effect and is a first-order phase transition, as judged from the sharp change observed in the damping of acoustic pulses, the acoustic wave velocity, and the temperature hysteresis. It is revealed that the parameters of the acoustic waves change significantly throughout the temperature range of existence of the cooperatively distorted structure. In an external magnetic field, the structural phase transition is shifted toward lower temperatures.  相似文献

A giant concentration of nitrogen vacancy defects has been revealed by the electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) method in a detonation nanodiamond sintered at high pressure and temperature. A high coherence of the electron spins at room temperature has been observed and the angular dependences of the EPR spectra indicate the complete orientation of the diamond system.  相似文献

The action of illumination on the conducting and dielectric properties of lead magnoniobate was investigated. The photostimulated currents were examined and the spectral dependence of photoconductivity in the region of diffuse phase transition was obtained. It was found that the illumination affects the dielectric properties and that its action is memorized at temperatures below room temperature. The role of defect states in the formation of relaxor properties is discussed on the basis of the obtained data.  相似文献

A series of copper metallochelates C22H18CuN4O2 X (X = Se, S, O) as models of active centers of natural metalloproteins have been synthesized on the basis of new azomethine ligand systems. The structure of the complexes has been studied by extended X-ray absorption fine-structure spectroscopy. It is shown that, in the metallochelates with X = Se or S, one azomethine chalcogen-containing ligand undergoes tridentate interaction with copper ions, while the other ligand is an acetate group. As a result, a complex with the N2O2 X environment is formed, where one of the oxygen atoms of the acetate group is at a large distance from the metal ion: R = 2.56–2.68 Å. For the metallochelate with X = O, coordination of the acetate group by a copper ion is found to be absent, and only interaction with azomethine ligands having average Cu-N/O distances R = 1.96–2.04 Å is observed.  相似文献

The effect of codoping of hydroxyapatite (HAP) nanocrystals with average sizes of 35 ± 15 nm during “wet” synthesis by CO32? carbonate anions and Mn2+ cations on relaxation characteristics (for the times of electron spin–spin relaxation) of the NO32? nitrate radical anion has been studied. By the example of HAP, it has been demonstrated that the electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) is an efficient method for studying anion–cation (co)doping of nanoscale particles. It has been shown experimentally and by quantummechanical calculations that simultaneous introduction of several ions can be energetically more favorable than their separate inclusion. Possible codoping models have been proposed, and their energy parameters have been calculated.  相似文献

Samples of oriented aerogel based on aluminum oxide are studied by the electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) technique under steady-state and pulse conditions. At least two types of paramagnetic centers interacting with Al nuclei on the surface of aerogel are revealed. Their spectra are characterized by the presence or absence of superhyperfine structure in the EPR spectra, respectively. The X-ray irradiation at room temperature gives rise to the formation of additional long-lived paramagnetic centers of the second kind. Their characteristic decay times for the “fast” and “slow” processes are determined. The interaction of induced paramagnetic centers with protons located on the surface of aerogel is revealed.  相似文献

Localized charge inhomogeneities and phase separation are described in the framework of the phenomenological theory of phase transitions. It is shown that Coulomb interaction determines the charge distribution and the characteristic size of the emerging inhomogeneities. Phase separation associated with charge segregation becomes possible because of a high dielectric constant and a low excess charge density in the localization region. The phase diagram of the system is calculated, and estimates are obtained for the gain in energy associated with the emerging state. The role of Coulomb interaction is exposed, and corresponding estimates are given.  相似文献
