A generalized formulation is applied to implement the quadratic upstream interpolation (QUICK) scheme, the second-order upwind (SOU) scheme and the second-order hybrid scheme (SHYBRID) on non-uniform grids. The implementation method is simple. The accuracy and efficiency of these higher-order schemes on non-uniform grids are assessed. Three well-known bench mark convection-diffusion problems and a fluid flow problem are revisited using non-uniform grids. These are: (1) transport of a scalar tracer by a uniform velocity field; (2) heat transport in a recirculating flow; (3) two-dimensional non-linear Burgers equations; and (4) a two-dimensional incompressible Navier-Stokes flow which is similar to the classical lid-driven cavity flow. The known exact solutions of the last three problems make it possible to thoroughly evaluate accuracies of various uniform and non-uniform grids. Higher accuracy is obtained for fewer grid points on non-uniform grids. The order of accuracy of the examined schemes is maintained for some tested problems if the distribution of non-uniform grid points is properly chosen.  相似文献

The indirect boundary element method was used to study the hydrodynamics of oscillatory viscous flow over prolate and oblate spheroids, and over hemispheroidal bodies hinged to a plate. Analytic techniques, such as spheroidal coordinates, method of images, and series representations, were used to make the numerical methods more efficient. A novel method for computing the hydrodynamic torque was used, since for oscillatory flow the torque cannot be computed directly from the weightings. Instead, a Green's function for torque was derived to compute the torque indirectly from the weightings. For full spheroids, the method was checked by comparing the results to exact solutions at low and high frequencies, and to results computed using the singularity method. For hemispheroids hinged to a plate, the method for low frequencies was checked by comparing the results to previous results, and to exact solutions at high frequencies. There are many methods available for the detection of nucleotide variations in genetic material. Most of these methods are applied after amplification of the target genome sequence by the polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Many efforts are currently underway to develop techniques that can detect single nucleotide variations in genes either by means of, or without the need for, PCR. Allele-specific PCR (asPCR), which reports nucleotide variations based on either the presence or absence of a PCR-amplified DNA product, has the potential to combine target amplification and analysis in one single step. The principle of asPCR is based on the formation of matched or mismatched primer-target complexes by using allele-specific primer probes. PCR amplification by a DNA polymerase from matched 3'-primer termini proceeds, whereas a mismatch should obviate amplification. Given the recent advancements in real-time PCR, this technique should, in principle, allow single nucleotide variations to be detected online. However, this method is hampered by low selectivity, which necessitates tedious and costly manipulations. Recently, we reported that the selectivity of asPCR can be significantly increased through the employment of chemically modified primer probes. Here we report further significant advances in this area. We describe the synthesis of various primer probes that bear polar 4'-C-modified nucleotide residues at their 3' termini, and their evaluation in real-time asPCR. We found that primer probes bearing a 4'-C-methoxymethylene modification have superior properties in the discrimination of single nucleotide variations by PCR.  相似文献

The enantiomeric excess observed for the exo-adduct from the Lewis acid catalysed Diels-Alder reaction between cyclopentadiene and methacrolein can be increased up to 21% by simple modification of the electronics of the aromatic ring in a series of stilbene-derived diol ligands, suggesting that the proposed face-face π-π interaction between the catalyst and the dienophile can be modulated by altering the electron density on the aromatic ring.  相似文献

The quantization of several Schrödinger fields interacting with the electromagnetic field is carried out without reference to a particular gauge. The canonical formalism requires a modification introduced by Dirac and Bergmann for constraints. The Coulomb interaction is separated from the radiation and it gives rise to bound states of atoms and molecules. Particle operators are represented in the usual manner in Fock space, while the radiation field can be described by state functionals. Constraints can be included in the canonical formalism by Lagrange multipliers, leading to results equivalent to those of Dirac and Bergmann.This work was supported in part by Drexel University  相似文献

The structure of the Cyano-Vinyl Radical CH2=-CN experimental and theoretical study
First, it is shown by ESR that the radical CH2=-CN at low temperature presents an unstable bent structure and at higher temperature a stable linear structure. A theoretical calculation on this radical and on the butatrienyl one is in good agreement with the experimental results.

Zusammenfassung Aus ESR Messungen wird gefolgert, daß das Radikal CH2=-CN bei tiefer Temperatur in einer instabilen gebogenen Struktur und bei höherer Temperatur in einer stabilen linearen Struktur vorliegt. Theoretische Berechnungen stehen sowohl für dieses als auch für das Butatrienyl-Radikal in guter Übereinstimmung mit experimentellen Daten.
