Investigation of the structure of a melt and molecular dynamics of ortho- and pyrophosphates by Raman spectroscopy

Substantiation of the two-temperature kinetic model by comparing calculations within the kinetic and fluid models of the positive column plasma of a dc oxygen discharge

Results from kinetic and fluid simulations of the positive column plasma of a dc oxygen discharge are compared using commercial CFDRC software (), which enables one to perform numerical simulations in an arbitrary 3D geometry with the use of both the fluid equations for all the components (fluid model) and the kinetic equation for the electron energy distribution function (kinetic model). It is shown that, for both the local and nonlocal regimes of the formation of the electron energy distribution function (EEDF), the non-Maxwellian EEDF can satisfactorily be approximated by two groups of electrons. This allows one to take into account kinetic effects within the conventional fluid model in the simplest way by using the proposed two-temperature approximation of the nonequilibrium and nonlocal EEDF (2T fluid model).

Synthesis of N-β- trifluoroethyl derivatives of maleic and citraconic acids

Summary Halogen derivatives of the N-alkylmonoamides and N-alkylimides of maleic and citraconic acid containing the strongly electronegative group CF₃ in the alkyl radical, previously unreported in the literature, have been synthesized.     

Absorption and refraction phenomena in proton- and antiproton-nucleus scattering

The experimental data on the 180 MeV proton and 50, 180 MeV antiproton scattering by the nuclei¹²C,⁴⁰Ca and²⁰⁸Pb have been analysed on the basis of the phenomenological diffraction theory. The optical properties of the nuclei with regards to the incident protons and antiprotons are investigated. Various limiting cases of the proton- and antiproton-nucleus scattering are considered. The contribution of the Coulomb and the spin-orbit interactions to the differential cross sections of these processes has been also analysed.The authors are indebted to D.M.
