Abstract Peat profiles from the area of the Tunguska explosion epicentre indicate significant carbon and hydrogen isotopic effects which are clearly associated with the zone of the 1908 "catastrophe", and which cannot be attributed to any known terrestrial processes. We explain them with the presence of extraterrestrial matter similar to carbonaceous chondrites or, more probably, to cometary matter. Initial data on nitrogen content and its isotope composition are consistent with the assumption of acid rainfall following the passage and explosion of the Tunguska cosmic body, as is known to have occurred during the Cretaceous-Tertiary boundary. 相似文献

The transition from incomplete to complete grain boundary wetting in copper alloys with 2.2 and 4.9 wt % Co has been studied. These alloys with peritectic phase diagrams differ from previously studied systems with eutectic transformation by the fact that the melt layer separating grains from each other is not enriched, but is depleted by the second component (cobalt in this case). The fraction of completely wetted grain boundaries increases with temperature, as in eutectic systems, from zero at a temperature of 1098°C to ~80% at 1096°C. For symmetric twin boundaries, the temperature dependence of the contact angle with melt drops is constructed. As in the eutectic systems, the contact angle decreases with increasing temperature (although not to zero due to the extremely low energy of symmetric twin boundaries). 相似文献

Recombination of singly charged heavy Cs+ and Br– ions with stabilization with neutral Ar or Xe atoms was studied by the classic trajectory method in the range of ion collision energy and third body energy from 1 to 10 eV. The elementary reaction of recombination was studied on the potential energy surface (PES), which quantitatively reproduces the experimental results of collision-induced dissociation of CsBr molecules (the reverse of recombination). An analysis of the statistically reliable number of trajectories revealed a complex multifactor dynamics of recombination, which involves various mechanisms whose realization depends both on the mass and energy ratio of colliding particles and on the PES structure and spatial configurations of collision determined by impact parameters, orientation angles, etc. The molecules that formed as a result of recombination have nonequilibrium vibrational energy distributions and rotational energy distributions comparable to equilibrium. 相似文献

F2 color centers with a superhigh concentration (5000-cm–1 absorption coefficient at 450 nm) were formed by high-density electron beams in a layer of LiF crystals of micrometer thickness. The F2-centers excited by high-power nanosecond wide-band optical pulses (the “soft” pumping regime) efficiently amplified the laser radiation and showed high stability under these conditions. The generation of prismatic dislocation loops in strained quantum dots is investigated. The quantum dots are embedded in a film-substrate heterostructure with mechanical stresses caused by the difference between the lattice parameters of the film (heterolayer) and the substrate. The intrinsic plastic strain ?m of a quantum dot arises from the misfit between the lattice parameters of the materials of the quantum dot and the surrounding matrix. The interface between the heterolayer and the substrate is characterized by a misfit parameter f.
