This paper presents some test and analysis results for a spot welded joint subjected to tensile and alternate load. The effect of sheet rigidity on the tensile strength and fatigue life of the spot welded joint is studied by using the stress intensity factorsK I,K II,K III and an effective stress intensity factor Kmax calculated by the finite element method for crack around the nugget. The results show that the effective stress intensity factor Kmax is an essential parameter for estimating the fatigue life of the spot welded joint.  相似文献

This paper studies Lp-estimates for solutions of the nonlinear, spatially homogeneous Boltzmann equation. The molecular forces considered include inverse kth-power forces with k > 5 and angular cut-off.The main conclusions are the following. Here 1/p + 1/p = 1, x y = min (x, y), and C0, C1, 0 < 1, are positive constants related to the molecular forces under consideration; = (k – 5)/ (k – 1) for kth-power forces.Some weaker conclusions follow when 1 < p 3/ (1 + ).In the proofs some previously known L-estimates are extended. Zusammenfassung Es wird eine analytische Lösung für die Absorption in einem laminaren Rieselfilm mit homogener und heterogener chemischer Reaktion 1. Ordnung vorgestellt, wobei der Stofftransportwiderstand auf der Gasseite liegt. Die Lösung ist eine Funktion von drei dimensionslosen ParameternBi, und, welche die BiotZahl und einen homogenen bzw. heterogenen Reaktionsparameter darstellen. Es wird gezeigt, daß für feste Werte vonBi und die Absorptionsrate (bezogen auf die Breite 1 des Rieselfilms) über eine gewisse Länge (dimensionslos) des Rieselfilms unabhängig von ist, wenn, < 0,6 ist. Die laufende Länge wird von der Stelle aus gemessen, an der die Absorption beginnt. Für b 0,6 nimmt der FlußQ mit zu, erreicht aber einen Sättigungswert bei=10, wonachQ nurmehr sehr langsam anwächst. Jedoch für ein gegebenes und ohne Übergangswiderstand im Film (Bi ) nimmtQ mit für alle 0 zu.
Mass transfer with chemical reaction in a laminar falling film
An analytical solution is presented for gas absorption in a laminar falling film with first-order homogeneous and heterogeneous chemical reaction and external gas-phase mass transfer resistance. The solution depends on three dimensionless parametersBi, and, wich represent the Biot number, homogeneous and heterogeneous reaction parameters, respectively. It is shown that for fixed values ofBi and, the rate of gas absorption (per unit breadth) over a certain length; (dimensionless) along the falling film measured from the point where surface absorption begins is independent of if < 0.6. For 0.6, this fluxQ increases with but reaches a saturation value at=10 beyond whichQ increases very slowly. But for given and zero gas film resistance (Bi ),Q increases with for all 0.

Investigated in the present study are some statistical features of temperature fluctuations in a two-dimensional separated and reattached turbulent flow over a blunt flat plate. Clarified are statistic behaviors of temperature fluctuation intensities, its autocorrelation coefficients, integral time scales, power spectra, probability density functions, skewness and flatness factors in the separated, reattached and redeveloped flow regions. Further, the present results are compared with the existing ones for a normal turbulent boundary layer over a flat plate without separation.
Temperaturschwankungen in einer abgelösten und wiederanliegenden turbulenten Strömung über eine stumpfe ebene Platte
Zusammenfassung In der vorliegenden Untersuchung wurden mehrere statistische Charakteristika der Temperaturschwankungen im Bereich der abgelösten, wiederanliegenden und wiederausgebildeten zwei-dimensionalen turbulenten Luftströmung über eine ebene Platte mit stumpfer Vorderkante experimentell untersucht. Besonders wurde das statistische Verhalten der Intensität der Temperaturschwankungen, die Autokorrelationskoeffizienten, der integrale Zeitmaßstab, das Leistungsspektrum und die Wahrscheinlichkeits-Dichte-Funktion und die schiefen und ebenen Beiwerte im Bereich der abgelösten, wiederanliegenden und wiederausgebildeten Luftströmung beschrieben. Die erhaltenen Ergebnisse werden mit bereits existierenden Ergebnissen für eine turbulente Grenzschicht ohne Druckgradient über eine ebene Platte verglichen.

The harmonic content of the nonlinear dynamic behaviour of 1% polyacrylamide in 50% glycerol/water was studied using a standard Model R 18 Weissenberg Rheogoniometer. The Fourier analysis of the Oscillation Input and Torsion Head motions was performed using a Digital Transfer Function Analyser.In the absence of fluid inertia effects and when the amplitude of the (fundamental) Oscillation Input motion I is much greater than the amplitudes of the Fourier components of the Torsion Head motion Tn empirical nonlinear dynamic rheological propertiesG n (, 0),G n (, 0) and/or n (, 0), n (, 0) may be evaluated without a-priori-knowledge of a rheological constitutive equation. A detailed derivation of the basic equations involved is presented.Cone and plate data for the third harmonic storage modulus (dynamic rigidity)G 3 (, 0), loss modulusG 3 (, 0) and loss angle 3 (, 0) are presented for the frequency range 3.14 × 10–2 1.25 × 102 rad/s at two strain amplitudes, CP 0 = 2.27 and 4.03. Composite cone and plate and parallel plates data for both the third and fifth harmonic dynamic viscosities 3 (, 0), S (, 0) and dynamic rigiditiesG 3 (, 0),G 5 (, 0) are presented for strain amplitudes in the ranges 1.10 CP 0 4.03 and 1.80 PP 0 36 for a single frequency, = 3.14 × 10–1 rad/s. Good agreement was obtained between the results from both geometries and the absence of significant fluid inertia effects was confirmed by the superposition of the data for different gap widths.  相似文献

Summary The subject of this article is the thermodynamics of perfect elastic-plastic materials undergoing unidimensional, but not necessarily isothermal, deformations. The first and second laws of thermodynamics are employed in a form in which only the following quantities appear: the temperature , the elastic strain e, the plastic strain p, the elastic modulus (gq), the yield strain (gq), the heat capacity (e, p,), the latent elastic heat e(e, p, ), and the latent plastic heat p(e, p, ). Relations among the response functions , , , e, and p are derived, and it is shown that a set of these relations gives a necessary and sufficient condition for compliance with the laws of thermodynamics. We study the problem of the boundary conditions specified at the boundary of a porous domain in order to solve the macroscopic transfer equations obtained by means of the volume-averaging method. The analysis is limited to the case of conductive transport but the method can be extended to other cases. A numerical study enables us to illustrate the theoretical results in the case of a model porous medium. The effects of MHD free convection and mass transfer are taken into account on the flow past oscillating infinite coaxial vertical circular cylinder. The analytical expressions for velocity, temperature and concentration of the fluid are obtained by using perturbation technique.

In shear flow of a nematic liquid crystal with 3 0 flow alignment cannot occur. The stability of the stationary in-plane solution, the tumbled state, is investigated using abstract techniques. Employing the existence of an elastic energy a sufficient criterion for stability is formulated. This criterion depends on the in-plane solution which is obtainable as a quadrature that is non-elementary except in special cases. It is shown that the tumbled state is stable and asymptotically stable for some physical configurations. The criterion presented is not a necessary condition for stability and thus only gives a lower bound.  相似文献

Laser-Doppler velocimetry (LDV) measurements and flow visualizations are used to study a turbulent boundary layer over a smooth wall with transverse square cavities at two values of the momentum thickness Reynolds number (R =400 and 1300). The cavities are spaced 20 element widths apart in the streamwise direction. Flow visualizations reveal a significant communication between the cavities and the overlying shear layer, with frequent inflows and ejections of fluid to and from cavities. There is evidence to suggest that quasi-streamwise near-wall vortices are responsible for the ejections of fluid out of the cavities. The wall shear stress, which is measured accurately, increases sharply immediately downstream of the cavity. This increase is followed by a sudden decrease and a slower return to the smooth wall value. With time domain reflectometry (TDR) two dispersive parameters, the dielectric constant, , and the electrical conductivity, can be measured. Both parameters are nonlinear functions of the volume fractions in soil. Because the volume function of water ( w) can change widely in the same soil, empirical equations have been derived to describe these relations. In this paper, a theoretical model is proposed based upon the theory of dispersive behaviour. This is compared with the empirical equations. The agreement between the empirical and theoretical aproaches was highly significant: the ( w) relation of Topp et al. had a coefficient of determination r 2 = 0.996 and the (u) relation of Smith and Tice, for the unfrozen water content, u, at temperatures below 0°C, had an r 2 = 0.997. To obtain ( w) relations, calibration measurements were performed on two soils: Caledon sand and Guelph silt loam. For both soils, an r 2 = 0.983 was obtained between the theoretical model and the measured values. The correct relations are especially important at low water contents, where the interaction between water molecules and soil particles is strong.  相似文献

Expressions are obtained for the pressure distribution in an externally pressurised thrust bearing for the condition when one bearing surface is rotated. The influence of centripetal acceleration and the combined effect of rotational and radial inertia terms are included in the analysis. Rotation of the bearing causes the lubricant to have a velocity component in an axial direction towards the rotating surface as it spirals radially outwards between the bearing surfaces. This results in an increase in the pumping losses and a decrease in the load capacity of the bearing. This paper deals with the problem of stress analysis of plates with a circular hole reinforced by flange reinforcing member. The so called flange reinforcing member here means that the reinforcing member is built up by setting shapes or bars with any section shape on both sides of the plates along the edge of the hole. Two cases of external loads are considered. In one case the external loads are stressesσX(∞)Y(∞),and τXY(∞) acting at infinite point of the plate, and in the other the external loads are linear distributed normal stresses. The procedure of solving the problems mentioned above consists of three steps. Firstly, the reinforcing member is taken out from the plates and considered to be a circular bar being solved to determine its deformation under the action of radial force q0(θ) and tangential force t0(θ) which are forces acting upon each other between reinforcing member and plate. Secondly, the displacements of plate with a circular hole under the action of q0(θ) and t0(θ) and external loads are determined. Finally, forces q0(θ) and t0(θ) are obtained by the compatibility of deformations between reinforcing member and plate. Then the internal forces and displacements of reinforcing member and plate are deduced from q0(θ) and t0(θ) obtained.  相似文献

In this paper, the derivation of macroscopic transport equations for this cases of simultaneous heat and water, chemical and water or electrical and water fluxes in porous media is presented. Nonlinear forced oscillations of a rotating shaft with nonlinear spring characteristics and internal damping are studied. In particular, entrainment phenomena at the critical speeds of 1/2 order subharmonic oscillations of forward and backward whirling modes are investigated. A self-excited oscillation appears in the wide range above the major critical speed. The amplitude of this oscillation reaches a limit value and then a self-sustained oscillation occurs. In the vicinity of a 1/2 order subharmonic oscillation of a forward whirling mode, a self-excited oscillation is entrained by a subharmonic oscillation. In the vicinity of a 1/2 order subharmonic oscillation of a backward whirling mode, either a self-excited oscillation or a subharmonic oscillation occurs.Experiments were made by an elastic rotating shaft with a disc. Nonlinearity in its restoring force was due to an angular clearance of a bearing and internal damping was due to friction between the shaft and an inner ring of the bearing. The qualitative behavior of solutions of the mixed problem utt = u-a(x)ut in IR x , u=0 on IR x , is studied in the case when a>0 and IRn is bounded. Roughly speaking, if aamin>0, then solutions decay at least as fast as exp t( –1/2amin), with the possible exception of a finite dimensional set of smooth solutions whose existence is associated with a phenomenon of overdamping. Summary Previous work on the slow translatory motion of drops, with clean interface, in non-Newtonian media has been briefly reviewed. The velocity and stress variational principles are employed to estimate upper and lower bounds on drag force experienced by a power law fluid sphere moving slowly in another stationary immiscible power law fluid. The upper and lower bounds are reasonably close to each other in the range 1n0.4 but deviate increasingly as the fluid becomes more and more non-Newtonian. The results reported herein contain several prior results as special cases.

Übersicht Zunächst wird ein kurzer Überblick früherer Arbeiten zur schleichenden Translation von Tropfen in nicht-Newtonschen Flüssigkeiten gegeben. Danach werden die Variationsprinzipe für die Spannungen und Geschwindigkeiten angewendet, um obere und untere Schranken für die Widerstandsk raft abzuschätzen für den Fall, daß eine Flüssigkeitskugel mit Potenzgesetz sich schleichend und mischungsfrei in einer anderen, ruhenden Flüssigkeit mit Potenzgesetz bewegt. Obere und untere Schranken liegen befriedigend dicht beieinander für den Exponentenbereich 1n0.4, divergieren aber zunehmend mit wachsender Abweichung vom Newtonschen Verhalten. Mehrere frühere Ergebnisse sind in den hiesigen als Sonderfälle enthalten.
