Hydrogen molecules are excited by two 193 nm-photons [X1 g + E,F1 g + ;Q02(1)] generated with a commerical oscillator-amplifier ArF laser. Stimulated emission is subsequently observed in the IR (=752.4 nm to 836.6 nm;E, FB) and in the VUV (=134.0 nm to 160.9 nm;BX) with a VUV conversion efficiency of 0.2%. The rotational fine-structure, the saturation behaviour, pump depletion as well as SRS-onset on and off two-photon resonance are investigated.  相似文献

Two photon Raman scattering (TPRS) via virtually excited biexcitons is observed in CdS over a rather large spectral region in a scattering configuration which favours stimulated emission. We observe either a pure longitudinal exciton or-for the first time—a bound exciton (I 2) as final state particles. Furthermore, the anomaly in the relation between exc and R at exc= Eblex is observed for the first time in a II–VI compound, indicating an energy of the 1 biexciton level of 5.098 eV in agreement with two photon absorption measurements. With an applied magnetic fieldB, the corresponding shift of the exciton eigenenergies can be observed. For the longitudinal exciton, the diamagnetic shift is 0.35 meV atB=10T forBc in agreement with theoretical predictions. In this configuration also a stimulated one photon spin flip Raman scattering is observed, yielding the well known electronicg-value of 1.78.  相似文献

A sequence of i.i.d. matrix-valued random variables with probabilityp and with probability 1–p is considered. Leta() = a 0 + O(), c() = c 0 + O() lim 0 b() = Oa 0,c 0, >0, andb()>0 for all >0. It is shown show that the top Lyapunov exponent of the matrix productX n X n-1...X 1, = limn (1/n) n X n X n-1...X 1 satisfies a power law with an exponent 1/2. That is, lim 0(ln /ln ) = 1/2.  相似文献

The electronic absorption coefficient (e) of meso-ultrasound (p –1 en, t, ee; ql 1, where p, en, t are the times of pulse relaxation, energy, and current carrier traps; ee –1 is the frequency of intraelectron collisions; , q are the frequency and wave vector of sound; l is the carrier mean free path) in the presence of a permanent external field E0 e 0 –1 q0T is calculated for anisotropic single-valley semiconductors with piezoelectrical and potential-deformation acoustoelectronic interaction. Considered arbitrary are: 1) the anisotropy of the tensors * and p (and other crystal parameters); 2) the degree of Fermi degeneration of the carriers; 3) the dependence of p on the carrier energy . The acoustoheat nonlinearity is neglected. The possibility of meso-ultrasound amplification by the transverse field (E0 - q) is predicted. By changing the orientation of the vector q relative to the crystal axes, the transverse threshold field (E thr ) can be controlled smoothly and within broad limits, This permits the production of a mechanical sound-amplification regulator or a modulator of its intensity. The ratio between E thr and E thr yields a measure of the relative anisotropy of the mobility.Translated from Izvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii, Fizika, No. 2, pp. 87–92, February, 1977.  相似文献

We study the influence of a finite container on an ideal gas. The trace of theheat kernel (t) = = 1exp(–t), where {} = 1are the eigenvalues of the negative Laplacian – 2 = – 3 = 1(/x )2 in the (x 1, x 2, x 3)-space,is studied for a general bounded domain with a smooth bounding surface S, where afinite number of Dirichlet, Neumann, and Robin boundary conditions on thepiecewise smooth parts S i (i = 1, ..., n) of S are considered such that S =U i = 1 S i . Some geometrical properties of (the volume, the surface area, the meancurvature, and the Gaussian curvature) are determined. Furthermore,thermodynamic quantities, particularly the energy, for an ideal gas enclosed inthe general bounded domain with Dirichlet, Neumann, and Robin conditionsare examined with the help of the asymptotic expansions of (t) for short timet. We show that these thermodynamic quantities depend on some geometricproperties of .  相似文献

An information-theoretic notion of entropy is proposed for a system ofN interacting particles which assesses an observer's limited knowledge of the state of the system, assuming that he or she can measure with arbitrary precision all one-particle observables and correlations involving some numberp of the particles but is completely ignorant of the form of any higher-order correlations involving more thanp particles. The idea is to define a generic measure of entropyS[ ] = –Tr log for an arbitrary density matrix or distribution function , and then, given the trueN-particle, to define a reduced R P which reflects the observer's partial knowledge. The result, at any timet, is a chain of inequalitiesS[ R 1 ]S[ R 2 ]...S[ R N ]S[], with true equalityS[ R p ]=S[ R p+1 ] if and only if the true factorizes exactly into a product of contributions involving all possiblep-particle groupings. It follows further than (1) if, at some initial timet 0, the true factorizes in this way, thenS[ R p (]S[ R p (t 0)] for all finite timest>t 0, with equality if and only if the factorization is restored, and (2) the initial response of the system must be to increase itsp-particle entropy.  相似文献

Ground-state masses ofq 2 –2 states (true and mock baryonium) are investigated in the framework of a Bethe-Salpeter formalism motivated from QCD. The four-particle system is described by pairwise interactions betweenqq orq pairs with a spectator approximation for the non-interacting pair. The quark-quark interactions are Coulomb plus harmonic interactions; the harmonic terms have been modified to produce linear confinement for heavier quarks, in agreement with experimental spectra. The confining interaction is proportional to the strong coupling constant s. Apart from the quark masses, the confining interaction is characterized by three basic parameters: (i) a universal spring constant 0; (ii) a constantC 0/ 0 2 , which defines the vacuum structure; (iii) a constantA 0, which provides a smooth transition from quadratic to linear confinement as one goes from light to heavy quark systems. These three constants [ 0 = 0.158 GeV;C 0=0.296;A 0=0.0283] have been shown to produce excellent fits to all quarkonia states [q ,q ,Q ] as well as baryon spectra (qqq); thus our predictions forq 2 2 states contain no free parameters. In this model, theL=0 ground states occur in the range 1.8–2 GeV, 2.15–2.3 GeV and 6.72–6.75 GeV foru 2 2,s 2 2 andc 2 2 states, respectively. We discuss the prospects for these states to be seen experimentally. In the case of thes 2 2 state, this is likely to have a rather narrow width, and may correspond to theX(2.22 GeV) meson observed in radiative decays of theJ/ meson. Thec 2 2 state might also be visible as a resonance with an appreciable width.Research supported in part by the National Science Foundation under grant NSF-PHY 86-06364Research supported in part by the U.S. Department of Energy  相似文献

Neutrinoless double-beta decay within Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model with gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking is considered. Limits on R-parity breaking constant coming from non-observability of 0 in 76Ge are found. The dependence of on different parameters at the messenger scale M are shown, with special attention paid to nuclear part of calculations. We have found that strongly depends on the effective supersymmetry breaking scale only and deduced limits imposed on this non-standard parameter by the germanium experiment.  相似文献

Metallic cluster growth within a reactive polymer matrix is modeled by augmenting coagulation equations to include the influence of side reactions of metal atoms with the polymer matrix: where > 0 and where c k denotes the concentration of the kth cluster and p denotes the concentration of reactive sites available within the polymer matrix for reaction with metallic atoms. The initial conditions are required to be non-negative and satisfy and p(0) = p 0. We assume that for 01, which encompasses both bond linking kernels (R jk = j k ) and surface reaction kernels (R jk = j + k ). Our analytical and numerical results indicate that the side reactions delay gelation in some cases and inhibit gelation in others. We provide numerical evidence that gelation occurs for the classical coagulation equations ( = 0) with the bond linking kernel (d ) for 1/2<1. We examine the relative fraction of metal atoms, which coagulate compared to those which interact with the polymer matrix, and demonstrate in particular a linear dependence on –1 in the limiting case R = jk , p 0=1.  相似文献

We consider SU q (2) covariant -matrices for the reducible3 1 representation. There are three solutions to the Yang-Baxter equation. They coincide with the previously known -matrices for SO q (3) and SO q (3, 1). Also, they are the three -matrices which can be constructed by using four different SU q (2) doublets. Only two of the three -matrices allow a differential structure on the reducible four-dimensional quantum space.  相似文献

The members of one explicit class of functions in 2 are identified with the geodetic shear-free null congruences in Minkowski's space-time. Members of a second explicit class are identified with the type-N vacuum space-times with twist-free rays. These two classes are special subclasses from a larger class of functions associated with the type-N space-times. This larger class is characterized in the following way: If and are holomorphic variables in 2, thenu (, , ), a function holomorphic in, belongs to the class provided the function u/ u satisfies the tangential Cauchy-Riemann equation for an antiholomorphic function on the 3-surface whereu (, , ) has real values.This work was supported in part by NSF grant No. MPS74-14191-A01.  相似文献

We consider a lattice of spin 1/2 ions, described by the discrete form of the current commutation relationsJ i J (i) =1/2, [J i ,J i ]=i ij J i where =1, 2, 3 andi label the lattice sites. The algebra is realized as the Clifford algebra over a Hilbert space. The equations of motion are specified by a formal Hamiltonian of the Heisenberg form: , wheref ij 0 and only a finite numberQ of ions are linked to any given lattice site. We prove that the Hamiltonian is non-negative in a representation of , and has a ground state exhibiting ferromagnetism. The time displacement group acts continuously on , inducing automorphisms. is asymptotically abelian with respect to the space translations of the lattice.The model is an example of an algebraic quantum field theory and possesses a broken symmetry, the rotation group 0(3). The consequent Goldstone theorem is proved, namely, there is no energy gap in the spectrum ofH.  相似文献

We show analyticity of the pressure for some classical ferromagnetic systems in the region ¦Im ¦ < Re of the external field. The proof, via correlation inequalities, is simpler than existing proofs for the Lee and Yang region {Re 0} and applies, without any approximation procedure, to more general continuous spin variables, e.g., distributed as , where 2n is an arbitrary real number and the other parameters are positive. It also applies directly to plane rotators in the region ¦Im ¦ ¦Re ¦ (Euclidean norms), but the proof will be given in a subsequent article, together with new inequalities between truncated correlation functions.  相似文献

Let X be a connected Riemann surface equipped with a projective structure . Let E be a holomorphic symplectic vector bundle over X equipped with a flat connection. There is a holomorphic symplectic structure on the total space of the pullback of E to the space of all nonzero holomorphic cotangent vectors on X. Using , this symplectic form is quantized. A moduli space of Higgs bundles on a compact Riemann surface has a natural holomorphic symplectic structure. Using , a quantization of this symplectic form over a Zariski open subset of the moduli space of Higgs bundles is constructed.  相似文献

With aC*-algebra with unit andgG g a homomorphic map of a groupG into the automorphism group ofG, the central measure of a state of is invariant under the action ofG (in the state space of ) iff is -invariant. Furthermore if the pair { ,G} is asymptotically abelian, is ergodic iff is ergodic. Transitive ergodic states (corresponding to transitive central measures) are centrally decomposed into primary states whose isotropy groups form a conjugacy class of subgroups. IfG is locally compact and acts continuously on , the associated covariant representations of { , } are those induced by such subgroups. Transitive states under time-translations must be primary if required to be stable. The last section offers a complete classification of the isotropy groups of the primary states occurring in the central decomposition of euclidean transitive ergodic invariant states.  相似文献

Starting from the Gelfand-Fuks-Virasoro cocycle on the Lie algebraX(S 1) of the vector fields on the circleS 1 and applying the standard procedure described by Drinfel'd in a finite dimension, we obtain a classicalr-matrix (i.e. an elementr X(S 1) X(S 1) satisfying the classical Yang-Baxter equation), a Lie bialgebra structure onX(S 1), and a sort of Poisson-Lie structure on the group of diffeomorphisms. Quantizations of such Lie bialgebra structures may lead to quantum diffeomorphism groups.Research supported by the Erwin Schrödinger International Institute for Mathematical Physics.  相似文献

The microstructure of fiber-like SiC/Si3N4 composite particulate was investigated using high-resolution transmission electron microscopy techniques. The SiC/Si3N4 composite particulate consisted of a-SiC core and a -Si3N4 outer shell. Two kinds of composite particulate were distinguished when the observed orientation of the SiC core was <110>. In one type of the SiC/Si3N4 composite particulate, a crystal relationship of (111)-SiC | (102) -Si3N4 and (111)-SiC (114) -Si3N4 was identified; in the other type of the SiC/Si3N4 composite particulate, a crystal relationship of (111)-SiC (001) -Si3N4, and (111)-SiC (101) -Si3N4 was observed.  相似文献

Large-deviations estimates for the autocorrelations of order kof the random process Z n=(X n)+ n, n0, are obtained. The processes (X n) n0and ( n) n0are independent, n, n0, are i.i.d. bounded random variables, X n=T n(X 0), n , T: MMis expanding leaving invariant a Gibbs measure on a compact set M, and : M is a continuous function. A possible application of this result is the case where Mis the unit circle and the Gibbs measure is the one absolutely continuous with respect to the Lebesgue measure on the circle. The case when Tis a uniquely ergodic map was studied in Carmona et al.(1998). In the present paper Tis an expanding map. However, it is possible to derive large-deviations properties for the autocorrelations samples (1/n) n–1 j=0 Z j Z j+k . But the deviation function is quite different from the uniquely ergodic case because it is necessary to take into account the entropy of invariant measures for Tas an important information. The method employed here is a combination of the variational principle of the thermodynamic formalism with Donsker and Varadhan's large-deviations approach.  相似文献

Based on the (relativistic) Maxwell equations with displacement current E/t, the initial-boundary-value problem for the compression of an initially homogeneous magnetic fieldB={0,B(x,t),0} between a fixed liner atx=0 and a detonation-driven liner atx=s(t) is solved analytically. By homogenizing the boundary conditions at the moving boundary, the transient electromagnetic fields are shown to be a superposition of quasistatic elliptic (E/t=0) and hyperbolic (E/t0) wave solutions. The wave equation is solved by a Fourier expansion in time-dependent eigenfunctionsf n =f n [nx/s(t)] for the variable region 0xs(t), where the Fourier amplitudes n (t) are determined by coupled differential equations of second order. It is concluded that the conventional elliptic flux compression theories (E/t=0) hold approximately for nonrelativistic liner speeds , whereas the hyperbolic theory (E/t0) is valid for arbitrary liner speeds .  相似文献
