We calculate the nuclear spin-dependent parity-nonconserving E1 amplitudes for the optical transition 6p 1/2, F →6p 3/2, F′ and hyperfine transition 6p 1/2, F →6p 1/2, F′ in 205Tl. The experimental limit placed upon the former amplitude by Vetter et al. [PRL 74, 2658 (1995)] corresponds to the anapole moment constant κa=?0.26±0.27.  相似文献

The electronic mass enhancement from the electron-phonon interaction is calculated for the noble metals from data on the electric conductivity and is found to be 10–15%. A brief discussion of many-body effects in band calculations is also given.  相似文献

We propose a direct method of detection of the nuclear anapole moment. It is based on the existence of a linear Stark shift for alkali atoms in their ground state perturbed by a quadrupolar interaction of uniaxial symmetry around a direction and a magnetic field. This shift is characterized by the T-even pseudoscalar ( . )(∧ . )/B 2. It involves on the one hand the anisotropy of the hyperfine interaction induced by the quadrupolar interaction and, on the other, the static electric dipole moment arising from electroweak interactions inside the nucleus. The case of ground state Cs atoms trapped in a uniaxial (hcp) phase of solid 4He is examined. From an explicit evaluation of both the hyperfine structure anisotropy and the static dipole deduced from recent empirical data about the Cs nuclear anapole moment, we predict the Stark shift. It is three times the experimental upper bound to be set on the T-odd Stark shift of free Cs atoms in order to improve the present limit on the electron EDM. Received 20 December 2000  相似文献

Nuclear anapole moments and axial neutral currents are calculated for a set of nuclei. The accuracy of the leading approximation is studied in detail. The core polarization renormalizing both the anapole moment and the axial current is treated in the random-phase approximation with effective forces. Parameters of parity-violating nuclear forces are discussed. The experimental value of the anapole moment of the 133Cs nucleus as extracted from data with allowance for axial-current renormalization is found to be κ=0.39±0.06.  相似文献

The dominant theoretical uncertainties in both the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon and the value of the electromagnetic coupling at the Z scale, M(Z), arise from their hadronic contributions. Since these will ultimately dominate the experimental errors, we study the correlation between them, as well as with other fundamental parameters. To this end we present analytical formulas for the QCD contribution from higher energies and from heavy quarks. Including these correlations affects the Higgs boson mass extracted from precision data.  相似文献

We demonstrate theoretically the existence of a linear dc Stark shift of the individual substates of an alkali atom in its ground state, dressed by a circularly polarized laser field. It arises from the electroweak nuclear anapole moment violating P but not T. It is characterized by the pseudoscalar xi k wedge E x B involving the photon angular momentum and static electric and magnetic fields. We derive the relevant left-right asymmetry with its complete signature in a field configuration selected for a precision measurement with cold-atom beams. The 3, 3 --> 4, 3 Cs transition frequency shift amounts to 7 microHz for a laser power of approximately 1 kW at 877 nm, E=100 kV/cm and B approximately > 0.5 G.  相似文献

Electroweak radiative corrections, to order α, to the weak magnetic moment of fermions are calculated in the Weinberg-Salam model. The different contributions are given in terms of integrals on Feynman parameters and the square of the 4-momentum of theZ boson. The results reduces to the well known results for the usual magnetic dipole moment in QED.  相似文献

We combine the many-body theory and the low-density expansion developed by Brueckner, Bethe and others to investigate several properties of the ground state and of single-particle excited states of symmetric nuclear matter. We calculate the following quantities from Reid's hard core nucleon-nucleon interaction: strength, energy-dependence, nonlocality and density-dependence of the real and of the imaginary parts of the optical-model potential, momentum distribution in the interacting ground state, dependence on density and momentum of the norm of a quasiparticle and of the effective mass, spectral function for particle states, saturation density and average binding energy per nucleon. No free parameter is adjusted in the calculation; good agreement is obtained with empirical values. It is shown that the effective mass has a narrow maximum at the Fermi surface; this is investigated in the framework of analytical models.  相似文献

We calculate, for the first time, the state-dependent pairing gap of a finite nucleus (120Sn) diagonalizing the bare nucleon-nucleon potential (Argonne v 14) in a Hartree-Fock basis (with effective k-mass ), within the framework of the generalized Bogoliubov-Valatin approximation including scattering states up to 800 MeV above the Fermi energy to achieve convergence. The resulting gap accounts for about half of the experimental gap. The combined effect of the bare nucleon-nucleon potential and of the induced pairing interaction arising from the exchange of low-lying surface vibrations between nucleons moving in time-reversal states close to the Fermi energy accounts for the experimental gap.Received: 3 November 2003, Published online: 6 July 2004PACS: 21.30.Fe Forces in hadronic systems and effective interactions - 21.60.Jz Hartree-Fock and random-phase approximations - 21.60.-n Nuclear structure models and methods - 27.60. + j   相似文献

The contribution to the sixth-order muon anomaly from second-order electron vacuum polarization is determined analytically to orderm e/m μ. The result, including the contributions from graphs containing proper and improper fourth-order electron vacuum polarization subgraphs, is $$\begin{gathered} \left( {\frac{\alpha }{\pi }} \right)^3 \left\{ {\frac{2}{9}\log ^2 } \right.\frac{{m_\mu }}{{m_e }} + \left[ {\frac{{31}}{{27}}} \right. + \frac{{\pi ^2 }}{9} - \frac{2}{3}\pi ^2 \log 2 \hfill \\ \left. { + \zeta \left( 3 \right)} \right]\log \frac{{m_\mu }}{{m_e }} + \left[ {\frac{{1075}}{{216}}} \right. - \frac{{25}}{{18}}\pi ^2 + \frac{{5\pi ^2 }}{3}\log 2 \hfill \\ \left. { - 3\zeta \left( 3 \right) + \frac{{11}}{{216}}\pi ^4 - \frac{2}{9}\pi ^2 \log ^2 2 - \frac{1}{9}log^4 2 - \frac{8}{3}a_4 } \right] \hfill \\ + \left[ {\frac{{3199}}{{1080}}\pi ^2 - \frac{{16}}{9}\pi ^2 \log 2 - \frac{{13}}{8}\pi ^3 } \right]\left. {\frac{{m_e }}{{m_\mu }}} \right\} \hfill \\ \end{gathered} $$ . To obtain the total sixth-order contribution toa μ?a e, one must add the light-by-light contribution to the above expression.  相似文献

We estimate the effect of the up and down quark mass difference to the neutron beta decay vector form factor at zero momentum transfer, by using an expansion in chiral SU(3) X SU(3) symmetry breaking to leading order. We find a deviation from a deviation from unity of the order of 3.5X10−5.  相似文献
